I love sashimi but it gets pricey at restaurants. You can pre-order seafood here at Gandy; uni, blue fin otoro, sweet shrimp etc. They have sashimi grade salmon, scallops and all kinds of seafood at the store as well. I just have to write this review! I just ordered a shrimp & crab plate @ Gandy Seafood here in Murfreesboro. It came with potatoes, corn, sausage, shrimp, and snow crab. Also there was plenty of drawn butter & cocktail sauce too. I enjoyed it so much! Everything was fresh and delicious and it filled me right up! The owner knows all about seafood too, so you can learn about the different seafoods he sells. So I would highly recommend Gandy Seafood to all my friends. Selection and service was good. I was unhappy about the credit card service fee. I understand many places are charging a card fee but I didn't see a sign anywhere notifying customers about it. Businesses should post signs letting customers know they are charging an extra fee. read more

When I visited he has some think chunks of Chilean Sea Bass, Mahi Mahi, Red Fish, Cod chunks, etc., etc., etc. Talked with Ben Meredith who took over the ownership of the store in February 2022. He is working hard to bring incredible pieces of fish to Murfreesboro for your dinner table. If you don't feel like cooking, they have a variety of dishes they can cook up for you to take home. I had the shrimp, potato, corn, and sausage plate...it was delicious with just the right amount of spice to let you know there was some spice in the dish. You get two sauces...the garlic butter and cocktail sauce, both are perfect accompaniments for dipping in the shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the sausage was very good. The entire meal cost was $18...pretty good deal for the amount of food you get. I got the peeled and deveined shrimp, you could get the whole shrimp at a lower cost. P.S. I plated the dish from the Styrofoam container...the smiley face was intentional!!! Also picked up a 1/2 gallon of Franklin's Mango Peach Fruit Tea...for me I cut it with some brewed tea to reduce the sweetness while still getting the great flavors. Not as pleased this time around. Appears to either have new owners or new management. Definitely new employees. Arrived between 4:30-4:45PM weekday (Wednesday). I was going based on the FB post of the lobster mac'n cheese. It looked really good. Since I had never tried it before, why not try here because the Royal Reds were good before. It was empty which is sometimes a sign that I should bypass but I didn't. Got a container of all the special items. Lobster mac'n cheese $16 Alligator Chili $13 Seafood Gumbo $13 All 12oz containers though I'm pretty sure I was shown a 16oz on the counter. Apparently, the food prep person didn't know until after I ordered that they didn't have the container they showed me (Yep, sounds funny to me also). Oh and there is a $1.47 convenience fee which is also new. Kids thought the chili needed more spice and flavor. None of us liked the gumbo. Lobster mac'n cheese was not bad but looked and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The French bread nearly burnt. Surely hate to see that this place is not what it was but according to so many other places "no one has the staff" and "supply and demand is a challenge". They definitely are not on my list to return anytime soon unfortunately. read more

I went here the other day for a steam pot. It was my first time in and I had seen an add that stated that they do the steam pots in house, However, I didn't realize that they don't have any seating and in fact, you have to take them to go. Even still the seafood (snow crab, shrimp, and sausage) was all very fresh and Delicious! As I was ordering my steam pot, I did take a gander at all of the wonderful seafood that they had for sale. I will definitely be back for lobster, shrimp, crab, sea bass, etc. they had some beautiful looking fish. That said, I do have to say that my hot pot was amazing once I arrived home and ate it. I tried 4 previous stores to find fresh clean tasting shrimp (includins WF and Sprouts) and kept coming home to these little foul smelling monsters of a shrimp. My husband tried the shrimp boil with garlic butter, old bay, sausages, corn, and potatoes and he enjoyed it. I brought some raw ones home and fried them......excellent! If you're looking for fresh seafood and not into the frozen stuff you should pay this spot a visit. When I went, the seafood was very fresh. They are reasonably priced and knowledgeable about their product. I got the Mahi-Mahi tenders and a pound of medium shrimp. That evening I went home and cooked for my family and I could totally tell a difference in the taste because it was so fresh. I found out that their deliveries comes in on Tuesdays and sometimes Thursday. They try to sell out of everything by Saturday. Because all of their seafood is caught and delivered directly to them they may have times when certain items are unavailable. That particular day I wanted cod but there was none available... also they stated that they never ever freeze their food...this is what I was told... regardless whether true or not, I'll be back because my family raved about how good the shrimp was after cooking it. A co-worker mentioned Bubba Candy's has opened in Murfreesboro some time ago and I thought I would check it out. Mostly unassuming when you go inside. Seems like a typical seafood market, but the freshness and taste are phenomenal. It's as close to having seafood at the Gulf as you will find. We typically get four of the shrimp meals and they will combine them in a single tray - I recommend the medium heat for the seasoning. Everything is so good! I was a little disappointed. Their website advertises turtle sauce piquante and alligator bisque but they did not have either of these. I therefore tried the seafood gumbo and the crawfish etouffee. Waiting in line was not only worth it for the food, but more than worth it for the company. All the customers in line were loyal and couldn't say enough about how good it was.
