Absolutely amazing. This was a standout steak dinner. Ordered the Niman ribeye and filet. We preferred the ribeye but both were so delicious, the ribeye just had than extra oomph for us. We subbed mashed potatoes for cut fries and broccoli and this was the way to go! The broccoli was so delicious, I love the char taste + Parmesan. We had two glasses of wine and finished off the meal with their chocolate gelato. I'll be raving about this meal to anyone who chooses to visit Chattanooga. Arrived on a Wednesday around 7 pm and the place was busy but I was able to sit at the small bar without waiting. Ordered the strip steak medium and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were tasty but the star of the show as expected, was the steak. It was cooked perfectly with a great grilled flavor and a little jus. We stopped here because we were driving through the city. We ordered many things which were all fresh and butchered in house. Some highlights were the burger (the best I've ever had), the trout (also the best I've ever had), the charcuterie board (delicious), and the beef tallow fries (also delicious). They totally knew the drill in terms of splitting a sandwich half-and-half for two people to share!! I would HIGHLY recommend going here. However, the server was super nice and didn't care that we had arrived so late. We got a fun little impromptu light show since the fire station across the street had an emergency so that was exciting. We went big with the Bear Creek Farm 48 day dry-aged porterhouse, served with bordelaise & mashed potatoes. The steak was juicy and tender, although the fat could have been rendered a LITTLE more, but I still enjoyed the nearly perfect medium rare. The server also recommended the autumn squash which may not have looked like much but was delicious.it was a hearty meal for 2 - maybe lacking in some greens but one meal without greens can't kill us... We were convinced to order the PB&J Cream Cheese Panna Cotta - and even though we were stuffed it was a fun way to end the meal. It's been some time since we first visited Main Street Meats. The restaurant itself is rather small, though they have probably doubled their seating capacity by extending into what was formerly the sidewalk area. Their additional business is as a purveyor of fresh meat products, both to the local consumer, as well as some of the restaurants here in Chattanooga. There is absolutely no doubting the quality of their fresh meats. Since I was the first of our party to arrive, I spent twenty minutes or so relaxing at the bar, sampling a couple drafts, and swapping stories with the bartender, and some of the other locals. If I wasn't driving that, I would have sampled one, or maybe two, of those custom drinks. It was surprising just how many different whiskies they had in their small, but comfortable bar. MSM has the reputation locally as serving the best burger in town. Having enjoyed that burger during my first visit to Chattanooga years ago, before we moved here, I would agree. While for this evening I chose another entree, one member of our party was able to reconfirm just how incredible that burger still is. I chose the Pork Coppa, a cut of pork with which I was unfamiliar. It was served with cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, and a whole grain mustard sauce. It was absolutely, unbelievably delicious. My daughter had insisted I order the potato salad as well. It was most like a German Potato Salad, and she was right, it too was so incredibly tasty. I sampled her trout as well, another safe selection for those who prefer fish to meat. Our visit was on Christmas Eve, and we had three children between the ages of three and six. Nashville Nelsons are back in Chatty and popping back for another review because we LOVE this place. We don't know anyone that works here, get freebies, or have any connection to this place but man - we are in love with it. Tonight was a starter of sourdough with Brie and apple butter and hazelnut chunky slap your mamaw little iron skillet appetizer. They always have standard apps and then one like this - we have enjoyed the others as well but this one was over the top. Absolutely stunning. The husband got a whiskey flight and he highly recommends this here. Generous pours and always interesting picks. The frozen espresso martini was perfect for me. Friday is ribs so he got a massive plate with warm potato salad and Cole slaw. I got the roasted chicken and it was delicious. I don't ever eat radish or the other veggies in this but it was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. We were too full for dessert, so next time we may have to share a plate! This place is farm to table and you can definitely taste it in their food. I know their menu changes often but I will review what I tried. The service was great, everyone was really friendly and on their A game. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Food:: Italian beef sandwich 10/10 it's probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever tried. It was so full of flavor and juicy. Definitely a must try in my opinion. So I think they were all little bit pricy but I must say, they were very good. One order of fries were enough for two. They were chip style. That makes them a bit different. I stumbled on Main Street meats during a recent weekend in Chattanooga and had a really memorable meal there. The fresh cuts of meat in their display case let me know as I walked up that this is a place that takes meat seriously, so being overdue for a top-flight steak I decided to give them a try. They have a number of outdoor seats and it was a nice spring day so I opted for al fresco dining. The server (who was excellent) let me know they are serious about meat (USDA certified) and whiskey (there's a whole book for the 280 varieties on their shelf). For my order, since I like leaner cuts, I went straight for the 7 oz. filet and it was an excellent cut, tender and cooked spot-on the way I like it; the accompanying mashed potatoes were a perfect pairing. To go all-out I ordered The Vanderbilt cocktail which was pricey but really well done. The final bill was not cheap, but this is one of those places where the quality matches the price so I feel like the value was definitely there. This place was highly recommended to us by locals. I was looking forward to it, especially since it's locally sourced and grass-fed and all that. There's a butcher shop in half the shop, so I expected great things. I have to say I was disappointed in the steak. I ordered a ribeye for 2. It was thin, sinewy, and therefore overcooked in some spots while undercooked in others. It's hard to cook a thin cut well. I don't remember the sides but I think they were good. The place feels like a pop-up tent, though in kind of a cool way. Service was very good. So I knew when I walked in and they were playing Frankie Beverly and maze that I was going to like this spot lol. I was taken care of immediately as soon as I hit the door. Got seated at lunch right away and without issue. It was a little past lunch so fortunately I was able to miss the crowd. There's a full bar with drink specials included. It's predominantly whiskey based, but they can probably suit you whatever your I call it needs are. They even have all of the bottles lining the ceiling and I think that's actually pretty cool too. As far as design goes. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor is just like I said, indoor. But the outdoor has a covering over it. So if it gets too cold you can still retain some heat but if it gets too hot, they can blow those doors off for you It's a cool off and get some ventilation. I got the ribeye, potato salad, greens, and I got the chips (which come with the steak). The river came out super juicy and hot. I have no issue with it! Will I get it again, you damn right! The potato salad was different because it wasn't like your auntie's potato salad, it was warm and more firm and had bacon in it. What's the bacon was definitely a good selling point lol! But it had a really good flavor to it, they really took their time with that. The greens were pretty good. The greens came in a small bowl, I kind of wish I had more! But they were really good. The chips, we're just that. Wasn't really a fan of them, I would have rather have french fries, like actual french fries, but whatever! Doesn't matter. Still ate them. They were fried crispy, and they were crisp to perfection so I'll give them that. Do I want to come back? Absolutely. What I was eating my steak, I saw a lot of people with burgers. You get no side you have to pay for everything I want complete. meal overall it's good my wife had a nice turkey dinner. She liked it but again very basic a lot of money for a lot of nothing but everybody has different taste. $60 for a burger turkey sandwich and a lil plate of potatoe chips.
