First of all, they sent me the wrong meat in my food. I asked for chicken and it smells and looks like some sort of pork. The reason I say looks like, because there was so, so much fat and grizzle on the meat that you could not tell. I specifically asked for more rice than meat because I really don't like any of their meat (at least the chicken is somewhat edible). They normally fill at least 1/2-3/4 bowl full of rice. I didn't even get 1/4 rice, which was sitting in a bed of oil, because of the grizzled pork they sent me. So they piled that disgusting meat on top of it. I was allowed to get 4 toppings of cabbage, so I chose that. I'm lucky if I got 2 out of the 4. Then top it all off, delivery driver didn't even ring our bell, he just dropped off the food on the porch and left because we had prepaid by credit card. Food was cold when we found it read more

Used to be very good (one of our favourites) but starting to lose quality. Tahini's needs to forget this nonsense about blueberry shawarma and silly flavours and focus on what it did best which was good traditional shawarma and falafels. The wraps now are skimpy, filling is less than 1/2 of what used to be, falafel now is rock hard and greasy (and they forgot the tahini). Please bring back original Tahinis. read more

I love it when a spur of the moment lunch decision reveals a gem, especially in London. Walking in, the cafe feels new and very clean. Our servers were helpful and friendly. I got the veggie platter, which is essentially a large dish of deliciousness that is bursting in flavour and colour. The falafel is crispy on the outside and perfectly spiced. The platter is elegantly balanced with various types of vegetables, pita bread, as well a creamy hummus and garlic dip. Their French fries are the best fries I've ever had! They're light golden, not the dark ones that have been fried in ancient oil. I don't know what kind of oil they use, but the fries are ridiculously tasty and crispy. Personally don't feel it's worth what you pay for. On a plus the gentleman working there was attentive and explained the menu to us. He made the wraps with care. Only concern was the cleanliness a lady was cleaning around where the man was making our food putting containers on the counter to a point she placed it close to the wrap bread - it did look like she placed it on top. On my way to my usual jaunt of Barakat, I passed Tahini's parked by Victoria Park and decided to take advantage of a sunny September day and eat lunch in the park. My food truck experience thus far is limited to Goodah and Ish and Chips, but I have always had good experiences and hope the pilot project is here to stay. My first impression was bad. Not because of anything to do with Tahini's, but because I stepped out of my car and almost stepped on a dead squirrel. Oops. The menu is simple but diverse - usual staples such as shwarma, falafel, and chicken and rice. They do have some delicious looking fusion dishes such as shwarma fries and shwarma poutine. Unfortunately I am about thirty pounds over my fighting weight and those were not options. I got: Chicken shwarma salad and a diet Pepsi I paid: $11 cash The staff was incredibly friendly, and one of them actually recognized me from my frequent Barakat visits. Apparently it is the same owner. My order was ready in about three minutes, and I sat at a picnic table in Victoria Park and ate. The good: The chicken and vegetables were terrifically fresh and there was zero drop off in quality from my standard in-restaurant order. Chicken, tahini, hummus, hot sauce, dressing, and vegetables were all exactly as expected. Which is delicious. The bad: There is only one thing I can knock. No baked pita chips in the salad. Those things are a staple at Barakat and remind me of stumbling across playboy magazine for the first time every single time I eat them. They were not offered or present and I felt so empty and sad I started writing a song for Taylor Swift without even realizing it. The ugly: With the proximity to multiple high schools, there were a lot of teens hanging out in the park. I forgot how big of potty mouths teens can be. YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN. . The dead squirrel was the opposite of an appetizer as well. And some old lady driving by called me a word that alludes to male roosters and the product of vacuuming because she did not like that I got out of my car while she was driving hers on the same street Overall I will go back when I am thirty pounds lighter and devour some shwarma poutine but for now will continue to travel two more blocks to Barakat, both for the baked pita chips and because 17 year olds talk like blackbeards oldest and most loyal crew members. read more

Very simple review here folks: I was told this restarting had good food from a few friends but was warned about the occasional "bad experiences"...well Murphy's law being as it is, I had one. Very short and sweet: I ordered a chicken sharwma (because shish tawook was not available) and the server told me as a recipient he would include French friends for me. I thought that was great because I wanted to order them anyways.... Well when I got my order....there were no fries. I asked the server, "what happened to my fries?"....he said, "I offered you but you said no, you need to purchase separately". Or something to that effect. When I called in for a messy fries from Tahini's, I had barely eaten all day, and my stomach was ready for some chicken. I picked up my order after a slight delay (they seemed to be pretty busy, and hadn't remembered the toppings I asked for on the phone) and speed-walked home. Imagine my dismay when I opened my take-out box to find a pile of fries with no chicken! I guess that my order was accidentally swapped with someone else (the take-out boxes are unlabeled). After a quick call and speedy return drive, they graciously remade my order. The $10 messy fries with chicken made a delicious late dinner. Go with the +$1 "EXTREME" version for the extra toppings. Seems like they could be more organized, but friendly service and good food mean I'll probably be back another time. read more

My wife and I both had a chicken shawarma which we thought were tasty, large and done well! I also got the beef poutine; great flavour from the meat but 5 minute wait and I never was asked about toppings which I later saw was an option. Nice new spot - we'll be back! read more

Really good, fresh and quick option on the run! The creamy hot sauce and garlic is a must. There are plenty different topping options to choose from. I loved how tender the chicken shawarma was and the rice had a great flavor and texture. It's nice that you can get a choice of wrap or a bowl. The portion sizes are huge! I have been to other location to, good food the bowls are really good healthy and you can see what are you eating, and good price . The only thing is missing , Baba ghanosh , it has kick in it . It's not satisfying . I hope they do some changes on it. You should give it a try. read more

Did the triple truck thing today, a little from everyone just to support the whole venture. Tahini was one I hadn't had the pleasure of trying yet but since it was tied to Barakat and I'd heard good things I was hopeful. Had a pleasant conversation with the man running the truck and was served quick. I opted for the Chicken Shawarma with no hot sauce but everything else on it. I hate pickles, okay... not all pickles but dill pickles are not my jam at all. So it was strange that I didn't even notice they were in my Shawarma until half way done it (it was that good that it didn't matter!) The meat had a nice seared yet juicy and not dry taste to it. There was no grizzle or weirdness that sometimes makes me pass on Shawarma to begin with. My only knock would be it didn't have fries on it, which I'd heard was customary on true Shawarmas, but what would I know... Excellent shawarma, flavor and combination is always on par. The only issue I have is every time I go the wrap keeps getting smaller and smaller. Even the Saj bread that used to be made in house now comes pre packaged and is quite small. read more

Waited half about a half hour to order and have ready. They ran out of rice, so had to wait for it to cook. Meanwhile they mixed up the wraps and my wife got the wrong one. Great place when they aren't busy, food is good...but avoid the rush hour...they aren't too organized. read more

The other day we went grocery shopping, but we were hungry, there was tahini, weve eaten there before so we knew what 2 expect, good tasting fresh ingredients, and a very clean establishment 2 boot with a very friendly staff, i was in the mood 4 vegetarian, so I ordered the falafel and my wife ordered the chicken shwarma, with garlic sauce hummus, red cabbage, pickles and hot sauce, I'm not as adventurous, but my sandwich was delicious as well, we both enjoyed with a beverage and a crispy fries I suggest you give this establishment a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

About time! It's been a long wait to get delicious Middle Eastern food in the north end and this is the place. Walking in, it is beautifully decorated and very comfortable looking. I was doing take out so went up to the cash and ordered the veggie platter. Service is amazing... staff are friendly and polite to the customers but also each other. You can tell they like working there and with each other which equals an amazing atmosphere. The food was made fresh with lots of options in front of you... all very clean and beautifully presented. The food was absolutely delicious... perfect temperature even after a drive home.. rice perfect.. amazing hummus and literally everything was the best. All for a very fair price too. Wanted to try this new location on Fanshawe at Wonderland - love middle eastern food. We had take-out and the serving size was pretty decent - BUT I hate raw carrot slices in any salad and was annoyed that there were a lot in the fatoush salad- maybe this was the 'fusion' part? There were also several slices of tomato stuck in a corner that tasted like they had been sitting around for a while. The tahini and garlic sauce were good as were the falafels. My husband had the chicken shawarma combo and found it to be really dry. We'll try it again because they've only opened recently and maybe have growing pains. But PLEASE leave the carrots out of the fatoush and add a few more pita crisps. read more

Good place to eat and clean, but they don't know how set up any rap properly because when you eat it all the juice comes out on one side, and they been doing it for long time and nobody complains about it. They need a profession to train them for preparing this because when you eat it, the final part will be wasted and that also waste of money. read more
