I have been spending a lot of time in Richmond Hill as of late. It's likely because I enjoy taking in movies at the SilverCity and end up running errands in the area afterwards. A couple of Saturdays ago, I needed to grab some takeout for dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found Tahini's. It's a few doors down from a No Frills, in a plaza that has a McDonald's, Dollarama, Kaiyo Sushi, and more. I got the following items: - Regular habibi bowl (BOGO) - Beef samosas (2) I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my food to be ready. I drove over to this eatery and backed into a parking spot. I waited a bit before I headed inside the eatery to pick my food up. I headed to the counter on the left. A woman said hi. When I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order, she abruptly interrupted me and said that I needed to be on the right. I didn't feel any warmth from her. I felt like I was scolded by her for not knowing. It was my first time at this eatery. The only door in and out of this eatery is directly in front of this woman. Naturally, folks would head over to you, especially a newbie like me. You order on the left. You pick up your food on the right. Got it. I made my way over to the right. I had a friendly woman there who let me know that she was waiting for my beef samosas. Cool. It was enough time for me to take photos. The unpleasant woman seemed happier talking to a male colleague in front of the protein spits. I took a photo. She looked my way. She seemed to default to her sour disposition again. I had the inclination to delete the photo capturing her unpleasant expression, and take another photo once she went into the kitchen. It's one star off my rating. She clearly didn't like me. The feeling was mutual. The beef samosas were done. Yay! The other woman packed up everything and handed me my paper bag full of food. I thanked her and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. I then headed to my car and drove home. I had the beef samosas first. OMG! They were delicious. The wrapper was crispy and not greasy. The beef filling was generous and yummy. I should have got six. Yum! I had one of the regular bowls that evening and the other the following day. I specified light hot sauce. It was perfect. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I liked the toum. It had the perfect amount of garlic. The parsley provided a pop of colour. It didn't taste like anything. The rice was fluffy and delicious. This bowl was excellent. I had the other bowl for dinner the following day. It heated up nicely and was equally as yummy. I loved everything that I had consumed. I'll be back for a shawarma wrap and more. I'm hoping that the sourpuss woman isn't there upon my return. (451)

THEY ACTUALLY LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE. *insert Leo Dicaprio clapping* RIGHT BACK TO THE CREAM OF THE CROP YOU GO TAHINI'S. After I, and many others complained about the sneaky container switch, they have reinstated the large rice bowl sizes. While the large bowls still aren't the same as their original regular bowl sizes, the bowls are DEEPER even though they're smaller in diameter (see pic for reference). The amount of meat is back to the nice big, hearty portion size. I stopped by as soon as I could, after reading that they reverted back to having large bowls on Jan 15. The food is delicious. That cannot be ignored. Out of all the shawarma places, I like Tahini's rice the most. It's so flavourful compared to Osmow's or Lazeez. On their best day, they are toe to toe with Shelby's in Oakville. It's refreshing to see a business actually listen to their customers for once. HERE'S YOUR 5 STARS BACK! TAKE A BOW.

Best Chicken Shawarma! I've become a huge fan of Shawarma and I've only had it at Villa Madina and Me-Va-Me so I decided to start trying more places and Tahini's was on the top of my list based on reviews. My Chicken Shawarma was really good with flavourful juicy chicken meats and amazing toppings. I got their "old school" toppings and it was perfect. I got the small wrap and it was not small at all. I will definitely be back to try the Shawarma rice bowl!

Came to try due to lots of tik tok clips and it is AWESOMEEEE!!! Be sure to order medium or large, as you get the saj bread instead of regular pita. It is so crispy and delicious! I had the butter chicken wrap, family had jerk chicken and chicken shawarma wrap. Recommend chicken shawarma!

Really good value for two people! Delicious food for a great price. We ordered the Ultimate Box for 2 $34.99 which comes with: * Small Habibi Bowl * Small Butter Chicken and Rice * Arabian Bites * 2x Samosa * 2x Falafel * 2x Pops I absolutely love Mediterranean food and this spot has quickly become a favorite! Strongly recommend. They've got a good amount of seating inside, good for one or small groups. It's fast-food style order and pay at the counter. Lots of parking around and close to the Cineplex!

I've been seeing Tahini's more and more on social media, and each time I see their posts I instantly have a craving. Honestly their chicken shawarma wrap is next level. The chicken is juicy and tastes unbelievable. Their habanero sauce is just the right amount of spice. And the saj bread is top notch. I usually get takeout but it's nice they have plenty of seating as well. Service is prompt too. All in all one of my favourite chicken shawarma spots!

Honestly I don't want to give this a bad review as this place is my goto spot but after experiencing this I will never go back. I ordered two habibi bowls for pick up. Picked up and got home to eat. After taking one bite I had to spit it out and realized the meat is raw. Mind you there is cooked chicken as well but it was overcooked mixed with raw chicken. I am extremely disappointed and very peeved. Would not recommend this place.

Just opened. I just tried their Saj bread wraps and I love it! Strongly recommend them. Next time I might try a bowl or a platter. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

After bringing our food, she disappeared completely and never once checked on us. We ran out of water and spent about 15 minutes trying to find someone. When we finally got another server's attention, we asked for more water and a few additional side dishes since the portions were so small. He only brought one small dish and never returned. Throughout our meal, not a single staff member asked how everything was or if we needed anything. When we left, the person at the front didn't even acknowledge us or say goodbye. What was even more noticeable was that the other tables around us weren't receiving much attention either, so it didn't appear to be an isolated incident. We work in the service industry ourselves and are usually very generous tippers because we understand how demanding the job can be. Great service goes a long way, but unfortunately this restaurant completely missed the mark. There are plenty of excellent Korean restaurants with friendlier service, more reasonable prices, and much more generous side dishes. Sadly, this won't be a place we'll return to.

If you plan to visit at least a couple of times a year, the annual membership is worth it for the food discount. Dishes we've tried so far: Lamb skewers - Premium cut, very flavourful. Grilled sea bass with vegetables - The fish is grilled first, then served hot-pot style with tofu, fried tofu puffs, black fungus, and leafy greens. A nutritious, well-rounded dish, and the frozen fish still tastes fresh. Sweet and sour chicken - Decent. Cold cabbage appetizer in sesame sauce - Perfectly seasoned, with just the right level of sweetness. Fried beef cut - Mediocre; the beef was a bit too chewy. "Water" boiled spicy fish - A large dish great for groups, served with about 5 pounds of basa fish. Hit my expectation of the dish but very filling with a lot of oil. Beef buns/rolls - Mediocre and quite dry. Overall, the food here offers great value -- just a bit pricier than food court fare, but with mid-tier restaurant quality. Portions are generous, and I always leave full. I'd happily come back when I'm in the area.

If you add them on to a main, you're still charged $3.89 at the moment on ubereats. But if you order a side alone, it'll cost you $6+ (which I do still think is ridiculous since I don't think you're getting a bigger portion but I'd like to point out my mistake from my previous review). The burger still SLAPS like no other and the sauces are insane. That double double cheeseburger might just be one of the best hidden secrets in the richmond hill area. For $7.99 you're getting AAA freshly ground beef that completely destroys the Mcdonald's big macs nearby. I honestly think it even gives Hero Burger and Fresh Burger a run for their money. Best bang for your buck in the area imo (Fresh Burger raised their prices a lot). P.S. I think my recent, late night friday, uber eats order history is all Habibz.

My workplace is a five-minute drive to this eatery. It occupies the space that was Starbucks. When I walked in, I could still spot subtle reminders of this cafe, from the baked goods display when you place your order, to the Starbucks green upholstery. The Burger Alley did a great job adding its own design flair to it. I especially liked the zen rocks and shrubs. I like that there are more Halal burger joints popping up around my workplace. A decade ago, Burger Factory was the lone eatery. It's nice that there's competition, which includes Gladiator Burger and Steak, Chainsmoker Urban Barbeque, and now, The Burger Alley. This place accepts debit and credit cards. I never have cash on me, so I don't know about its acceptance. For burgers, it offers beef and chicken. So far, I have only done beef because it is excellent and I crave it. One of these days, I'll go with a chicken burger. My burger of choice is the Avada Kebabza beef burger. It's yummy! The beef in this burger was delicious. It was so juicy that at one stage, the juices were dripping down my left hand to my wrist. The bun was soft and toasted. It tasted like a potato bun. The lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, and pickles were so fresh. The beef bacon was so good. Halal. Yummy. I also got caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms. If you like cheese, this place splurges on real cheddar and swiss cheese slices. The pickle slices are perfectly tangy and crunchy. I love the coleslaw. It was crunchy and enjoyable. The fries were excellent. They were crispy and had the best masala seasoning. Even with the most garlicky mayo on top, these fries remained crispy from start to finish. I was impressed. This place has a decent selection of pop. I've tried a lot of drinks here. Diet Coke. Crush grape and cream soda. For an exotic change-up, I tried a Salaam Cola. It's yummy. It's got a milder cola taste than Coke or Pepsi. I liked the can's design. There were two gender-neutral washroom stalls. I used one when I got there and just before I left the eatery. It was clean and nicely maintained. It's an excellent burger joint. Its original location is in Scarborough. I'll need to visit it someday. I also added some alley fries and a salaam cola to the order this time, but I don't like the garlic sauce used for the fries though the seasoning is perfect.
