Decent dimsum. Quality is not as good as others but potion sizes are 50% larger than others. Items come in portions of 6. A lot of the dim sum wrappers are not as thin as other spots. It hits the spot but I think they are probably better for dinner. Ambience is elegant for asian. Service is good.

In just a few words, it says it all: absolutely awesome to be back enjoying such beautiful seafood, including the impressive king crab tower and fresh lobsters. The grilled Angus steak was also consistently well executed, with excellent flavor and perfect rareness. Everything came together to create a truly satisfying dining experience. The combination of great food and enjoyable atmosphere makes it a place worth returning to. Overall, it is definitely worth the bill for such a fine and memorable meal every time.

A beautifully decorated banquet hall with a classy, upscale atmosphere -- perfect for family celebrations or special occasions. The space feels refined, modern, and welcoming. We ordered the 2-3 person lobster set meal for the four of us (2 adults and 2 pre‑teens), and the amount of food was incredibly generous. Honestly, it was more than enough -- we wanted to keep eating, but our stomachs had other plans. * Chicken Soup: Rich, flavourful, and served in a huge pot. We couldn't finish it all, so we brought the rest home and enjoyed it again later. * Lobster: Delicious, perfectly cooked, and definitely the highlight of the meal. * Dry Aged 28 days 16oz Steak: This was the only slightly underwhelming dish -- OK, but not as impressive as the seafood. * Snow Pea Greens with king oyster mushrooms: Tender, fresh, and very tasty, though we were too full to finish the entire plate. Overall, the food was satisfying and the portions were extremely generous. This is a great spot for celebrations, and I'd happily return to try more of their set menus and specialty dishes.

A nice change from Fisherman's Clubhouse! This is our first time we been here and oh boy were we impressed by how massive the restaurant was. The seafood combo menus look almost identical to what you can find at Fisherman's club house so I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same owners! Service was speedy to order but once the food arrived, we had trouble flagging down a server to ask for extra drinks, napkins, rice etc. they tend to disappear once all the food is delivered and the people serving you the food does not speak English. Onto the food, the lobster was cooked perfectly, the right amount of salt and garlic! I would highly recommend the HK style over other choices. We had a smaller lobster sautéed with Ginger and green onion(normally my favourite) but we all found it lacked flavour and needed a tad more salt. The salted egg yolk crab was nice, similar to other restaurant, nothing special. The steak was a pleasant addition! Tender buttery and a nice size to share with table. As for the included dessert, be prepared to be disappointed with Jello haha, for the price we paid, I was hoping for Sago or pudding. I think others mentioned it, the tea cups are oddly tiny but cute and you need to fill them up a lot.

Jumbo Lobster is one of those restaurants that you bring visitors from our of town if you want to impress them. It's a good thing that the food here is tasty and delicious. They make choosing what to order easy for you; simply choose which seafood you want to focus on, and how large your dining party is, and choose your set menu based on this. We come here for the lobster, usually done in HK style, and it always hits. They chop the lobster in such a way that most pieces are easy to access the meat inside. The lobster is juicy and succulent, with a tinge of sweetness from the lobster meat and spice from the spices used in HK style. The fries that also accompany the lobster also absorb the flavour and are a delight to eat. Our set menu also came with the silkie chicken soup. Although there is meat and other components in the soup, I primarily just drink the broth which is full of flavour and supposed nutrition and health benefits. The aged steak was also quite tasty, turn the meat over onto the heated plate if you want it to be more thoroughly cooked. We loved the notes of rosemary and garlic. The steamed fish was also nice, though I didn't eat much of it. I would rather fill my stomach with more lobster. However, if you want a dish with a more neutral taste, this one is for you. Our veggies were snow pea tips. I only wished they were cooked with more garlic. Dessert here is also included with the meal, though nothing really to go out of your way to eat. The night we ate there, it was pieces of jelly with what was I think basil seed. Just a hint of sweetness to neutralize the flavours and freshen the breath. Make sure you make your reservations in advance to eat here.

My cousins and their parents love Jumbo Lobster Restaurant -- so much so that this was their third visit during our annual Markham trip. They often talk about their first time dining here as a "life changing experience", which set expectations high. We called about a week in advance to make a reservation for a party of 9 for 12/30. The interior is massive, with seating for over 800 guests. Designed like an upscale banquet hall, the walls are lined with wine displays, dry-aged steaks, and live seafood tanks. Elegant decor and polished finishes are balanced by numerous hanging lights that brighten the otherwise dark color palette. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was incredibly busy and fully booked, with several walk-in parties waiting in the lobby without reservations. Despite the crowds, the staff moves fast and our orders were taken shortly after we sat down. Between 8 adults (+1 toddler), we decided to share the combo: 魚蝦蟹扒餐 6-7位 (FISH, CRAB, LOBSTER & STEAK DINNER FOR 6-7), listed at $428. This price is a rough estimate, as the final cost varies depending on the actual weight of the lobster and crab. The combo included the following dishes: 例汤 (SOUP OF THE DAY) Tonight's soup was an herbal chicken broth with a clean, comforting profile. The light herbal notes and subtle hints of dried tangerine peel were well balanced. Overall, I found it soothing enough to go back for seconds, though my cousins mentioned it didn't give them the same "wow!" factor like previous visits. 避風塘龍蝦 (3 磅) (LOBSTER IN HONG KONG STYLE 3 LB) The dish arrived as an impressive deep-fried lobster tower piled high with fries. While the shell was crispy, the lobster meat inside remained soft, tender, and juicy. The fries were well-seasoned and addictive, but not binge-worthy. Everything was flavorful, though after a couple of lobster pieces and a handful of fries, I had to retire from eating this dish. 上湯焗龍蝦 (3 磅) (BAKED LOBSTER W/ SUPREME SOUP 3 LB) Despite the name, this didn't seem baked. We assumed it was stir-fried with snow pea tips and longevity noodles in a light Cantonese-style sauce. This was definitely our favorite dish of the night thanks to its lighter feel and subtle wok hay flavor, especially compared to the fried options. The lobster was fresh and juicy, but the wok hay was weaker than expected for a restaurant of this caliber, and the pea shoots tasted slightly past their prime. The longevity noodles were savory and chewy which we loved eating. 熟成20日以上AAA肉眼扒 (16安士) (DRY-AGED OVER 20 DAYS AAA CANADA RIBEYE STEAK 16 OZ) My uncle declared this the best steak he's ever had. Prepared in a Western style, the ribeye was grilled and seared, served with fresh thyme and plenty of garlic cloves on the side. Unfortunately, the steak itself was surprisingly bland and quite tough to chew. We were all disappointed, and my cousins mentioned it tasted noticeably better on previous visits. 金沙焗溫哥華蟹(2.25磅) (DEEP FRIED CRAB W/ SALTED EGG YOLK 2.25 LB) This dish uses Vancouver crab rather than King crab, which noticeably impacts the quality. While the salted egg yolk coating was enjoyable, the crab itself was difficult to eat, with very little meat. What little meat I managed to extract was bland and unremarkable, and I didn't even finish the piece I took. This was definitely our least favorite dish this evening. 清蒸青班 (1.5磅) (STEAMED SEA BASS 1.5 LB) Although the menu listed this dish as steamed, my uncle ordered it deep-fried. At this point, it felt like far too many fried dishes for one meal. The oily batter was bursting with flavor, but the sea bass itself was overcooked, resulting in dry, unappealing meat. Sea bass is naturally delicate and buttery soft when prepared well, so this poor execution was especially disappointing. My cousins and I agreed the steamed version would likely have been more enjoyable. 皇子菇扒豆苗 (SNOW PEA TIPS W/ KING MUSHROOM) Unfortunately, the snow pea tips again lacked freshness and had very little wok hay. Another underwhelming dish. 甜品 (DESSERT) The dessert platter included mango-and-coconut jelly along with red bean-coconut jelly. I'm not a big red bean fan, so I stuck with the mango version. Light, bouncy, and not overly sweet, it was a pleasant way to end the meal. Overall, the food was a bit hit-or-miss, and I'd rate our experience a 7/10. However, the restaurant was packed, and the staff was clearly working nonstop. We suspect the quality of both food and service wasn't at its usual standard given the New Year's rush. While we still think highly of the restaurant, we'll likely avoid visiting during peak holiday periods in the future.

I need more fries! I need a standalone side order of these incredibly garlicky fries that sit under the famous Lobster tower. Don't get me wrong, the Fried Lobster will always be a main attraction, but the fries hold their own as well. I scoop the seasoning up and top my rice with this like furikake. Speaking of which, I'll never tired of this succulent garlicky Fried Lobster. I'd spend every celebration meal here if I could. Every dish I had was great, steamed whole fish, wok sautéed lobster, garlicky snow pea leaves, even the soup was great. Another standout was the dry aged steak, wow that was tender. I've never had a better dry aged steak at a Chinese seafood restaurant. In fact I don't think I've ever had dry aged steak at a Chinese restaurant. Jumbo really does have something for everyone's taste. If I lived closer to Jumbo, I'd visit weekly. Discounts for seniors and weekday discounts were the reason it was completely packed on a Thursday evening. The waitress even cracked a joke that I only brought my mom to dinner to get a discount to which I said, my uncle is also a senior and I'd sell his presence to any other table that needed a discount which garner a hearty chuckle. Seriously there were old timers in wheel chairs! The tea kettle and the wait for a table are the only issues I had. The tea kettle basically is a double serving kettle. If there are three in your party and you've only got one kettle, the third person will need to wait for the hot water to pass through. I've got no patience for that at dinner when I've got to fight my dining companions for lobster. LOL. The wait for a table reminds me of the old days when you needed sharp elbows to "swim" your way to the front. Even with a reservation, it took another 30 minutes for a table. That's really annoying. But I guess great food always has a wait. The service was satisfactory, and restrooms were clean.

This is my go to meal spot for out of town guests or for celebrations. It makes a memorable meal as we start the meal by posing with the raw lobster which will soon be in our tummies. This was our last meal in 2025 on Dec 31 and it was a delicious one to finish the year with. The ambience is posh and upscale, with 4 people we sat at the semicircular booth seats which made it feel like a semi private area. The dining room is huge with capacity up to 800 people and surrounded by fresh seafood water tanks. The four of us chose the 4-5 person Lobster and Double ribeye meal set which included a soup, veggies, 5lb lobster, 32oz 2 pieces of ribeye steak, grilled spare ribs with garlic, dessert and a bottle of red wine which we swapped for Sweet and sour pork instead. The place was packed on Dec 31 but we were able to get a table in just 15 minutes with a 90 minutes dining limit. The food came pretty quickly and although we were impressed with the mountain of lobster for its gigantic size but the star of the night was the rib eye steak, cooked to a nice medium rare and headed with two candles under the plate. If you like your steak on the rare side, be sure to take the pieces right away or they will become too well done as it's heated. The sweet and sour pork was on the gingery side which was a bit too strong for me. The veggies was delicious and the spare ribs were perfect for the next day leftovers with rice. The dessert was a gelatinous pink snack which we couldn't figure out the flavour of. All in all, it was a solid meal, with great service and ambiance. We always go home full and with leftovers for next day's lunch.

The new ambience of Jumbo Lobster is lovely - I'm a fan of the darker vibes (which feel more elevated). We came for lunch during the holidays and ordered the lobster combo with 6 dim sum dishes. We asked for a 3lb lobster, and per usual, they claimed they were out of that weight :) All the dim sum dishes felt a bit fancier than your typical Chinese restaurant, but flavours are what you would expect. The meal was pretty good value for what we got, and definitely more than enough food for our party of 5.

Came here for lunch recently and have been here a few times for lunch and dinner. My family kike to come here forbirthday celebrations or when we havevisitor from out of town.It is not my norm to have lobster for lunch. I brought my sister-in-law herebecause she wanted to try a fancy Chinese restaurant and I told herthat Jumbo Lobster has a nicefancy lunch set menu that includes lobster and dim sum. I accompanied her as the menu is a bit complicated and it's a goodexcuse for me to make a visit and I really like iketheir dim sum. Theirdim sum is really top notched. you'llstill likely order theirlobster lunch menu because that is what they are famous forwhich has set meals ranging from$108-$200. It's good to come with a group of 6 to8 friendsas theirset meals are catered mostly for about thatnumber of people. This is a smartbusinessconcept as you'll end up spending a bit more. I see these lobster lunch meal sets arenow offered atmany dim sum restaurants these days as customers seem to like having these extravagant lobster kunches. I think you can choose toorder justdim sum but I'm not sure if they have that option at this restaurant . SMy family did order just dim sumonce at their oldlocation on Wooodbine and at thattimetherestaurant didallow us to choose that option a few years agobut not sure if they will offer this optionat thisnew location.we felt a little uncomfortable with just our one table that had no lobster. If you're just looking for dim sum, then I recommend you go somewhere else as there are lots of gooddim sum places in Toronto. I just went to Joyous in North York and they have really good dim sum. they have a Markham location awell called Orient Bistro. Irecommend both restaurants for dim sum. I haven't had a chance to write a review for Joyous but it is my new go to dim sum restaurant as both food and service were superb!Although the dimsum is excellent at Jumbo,I wouldn't come herefor justdim sum because there are plenty of places in Toronto with tasty dim sum. The lobster lunch sets are reasonably priced so as long as you like lobster, it's worth a try! Their L1 lobster lunch combo is$108 is a good price as the mealincludes lobster, snow pea tips veggie dish, and 4 dim sum dishes of your choice and lobster E-fu noodles. This would be a good lunch set to select if you just want to give this restaurant a try but don't want to spend too much and you don't care for the lobster but more for the experience. There is one calculation on the lobster lunch set meals that I'll try toexplain cause it might be confusing if you haven't been to these lobster restaurant before . Your final bill may end upbeing higher than the quuoted price on the menu if the restaurant pickeda bigger lobster than the stated minimum lbs on your selected set meal. They will bring out your olivelobster and essentially you are agreeing to that lobster. I hope you'll enjoy your visit. For example, ifyour lobster lobstreweighs 6 lbs andyou selectedthe L1 lunchcombo rule is lfor every lb over 2,.5lbs is $30)so if yourlobster is 6 lbs, then extra costs will be $105(see calc below)on the 3.5 lbs (ie6-2.5 min lbs)in excess of 2.5lbs extraprice$105=x$30*3.5lbs). In other words, if the lobster was less than 2.5lbs than no price adjustment to the meal costs. I hope that makessense? Ifyour meal setsetisL1 combo is on the the menu for $108 but the lobster the restaurant picked a 6lbs lobsterwhich is more than2.5lbs(stated minimum lbs)so the new price for L1 combo isnow$213 ($108+ $120extra)=$105(calc sexplained earlier). It's a lot of math to order lunch! Be sure you ask clearly on how muchyour meal will cost asfter they show you your lobster. Sorry my explanation may not be thatclear. The staff werereally friendly and friendly so I think is fine if it's your first visit, hopefully they will help exmexplain to you. I just don't want you to feel like you are being cheated. I hate that feeling which is why I wanted to attempt explainingthe rules but please do double checkon yourfinalpricingbefore ordering cause I might not have explained it correctly or lthe rules might have change lon your visit.Overall, it's a beauful place and thefood is delicious. One last tip, 5% off for cash payment.

The restaurant inside is quite elegant and sophisticated. You can see the many fridges of dry aged meat and many racks of red wine. Also the display glasses for the lobsters and crabs make the restaurant quite interesting and unique too. The food is definitely indulgent. Everything packs a great punch of flavor and there were many leftovers to be brought home despite everyone leaving the dinner table with full bellies. Lobster and seafood are definitely the star of the show here at Jumbo Lobster but the steak was cooked to perfection and had robust flavor as well. The soup that night was delicious and rotates every once in a while so there's variety. Service was quick and also the staff came by to check in and change plates frequently.

Came here with my parents for our occasional lobster feast. I know the Toronto favourite seems to be the Fishman Clubhouse, but I honestly think this restaurant might just take my new top spot! Tea is $2.75 per person, but it was very good tea. You brew it yourself in a separate pot, then pour it into another glass container which is kept warm on a burner-like contraption. I was also charmed by how pretty and delicate the utensils were - right down to the tiny teacup because the "correct" way of drinking tea is apparently in small sips. The main feature was of course the famous lobster mountain. Piled in a heap and generously loaded with fries and crispy bits, it was quite a spectacular sight. We snapped on our gloves and dug in immediately. Delicious! The lobster was fried flawlessly, not overly oily but still maintaining that familiar flavour we all love. The quality of the lobster flesh does tend to vary a little depending on the day (and possibly season) though - sometimes it is buttery and tender, and other times you may find the shell to flesh ratio a bit higher than you like. The other dishes which came with the lobster combo were outstanding too - I particularly enjoyed the snow pea leaves, which somehow tasted both healthy and flavourful. Also, an order of har gow here comes with 6 (six!) pieces instead of the traditional 4!! Despite the place being extremely busy during weekend lunchtime (making parking quite difficult), the service was actually remarkably high quality. The hot water for the tea was constantly being refilled, and our requests for additional napkins or utensils were fulfilled promptly. In addition, when we noted that we were not fond of a chicken congee we had, the manager came out himself to offer us a complimentary dish for our next visit. I think the meal generally costs the 3 of us about $200, with plenty of lobster left over. Not cheap by any means, but the experience is certainly worth it every once in a while. Reservations are recommended as they always have a HUGE line whenever we go!

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. It was a whole infusion of flavour and had a little kick to it as well! My only complaint is it is a bit on the pricey side (was about $70 per person), but that's expected with lobster and crab.

One star for the convoluted business that it is…read more So I arrived at the restaurant to take my mom out for a fun night of Egyptian food, the restaurant occupied two commercial units thought its very unusual why they don't unify it was one unit. One side is for takeout but patrons are sitting there to dine in and the other side is for dine in, but the employees also do take out. Confusing YES. So I arrived in blindly following a line. I eventually tapped the person behind me, is this the line to get a table. He says no it's the line to order... okay. About 20min in the line I finally get the deal what everyone is doing, they order their seafood order at the front where the precious alive seafood is stored- it's like a pick what you eat counter. So I order their sangarita with a salad and yellow rice and a calamari with no sides (you save like $4 for just skipping that). After ordering she asked if I had a table?? I said no, then she comes out with seven yellow sticky notes and says there are 6 parties waiting for a table. I asked how long? Maybe 40min. She also advises me that i can put myself on the list for a table and she can hold my order up to 45min- they won't start cooking until you have a table. So I asked how long for takeout, she says 20min. Well I did my math, I waited 20min in line, and 20min for food that is not partially cooked so 40min, I can live with that. Watched the server rip the slip, and just fyi the fish was charged at $35/kg costing $60 and the calamari at 1lb was $22. She asked me to wait on the side, saw her put the slip with the raw fish and placed it ON THE FLOOR behind the counter. As I waited on the side I can see quite a number of orders piled in Rubbermaid containers on the floor. Behind the counter I can see the coats of the employees piled up next to what looks like to be the washed cutlery for table service and the employees use the same yellow rag to wipe every cutlery. I also saw employees clear the tables and return to prepare more cutlery- did they wash their hand in the kitchen??? I was then prompt to pay on their pay unit. It prompted me tip. SKIP tip for takeout. Then she tells me it's 2% charge if I pay credit card no charge for debit. So I pay debit. I waited patiently, I stood near the washroom and overheard how a male customer found a $100 bill in the washroom and handed it to the restaurant- they didn't even ask around if anyone dropped it. Then when I had waited 30min (10min past the estimated time, I asked for an update ). They assured me 10 more minutes. Then after 10min I asked again, they said 1min. And then they came out with my take out. The gave me a complimentary hummus for the slow service, but I don't think it made up for the undersized sides they served me. Just look at my pic and look at the website photo. Overall , if you have 2-3hours this is your place. THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY CHAOS! I'm questioning food stored on the floor even though it's in a Rubbermaid and then that bin placed back on the scale, touched by the gloved hands and potentially cross contaminating food. During the whole time I didn't see anyone clean or mop the floor- what if people are trekking sidewalk salt in the winter. I am really concerned. Eat dangerously here if you want. I do say the food was seasoned well but won't be returning.

Definitely a hidden gem! Stumbled upon this place in a plaza and must I say, everything was cooked…read moreto perfection and extremely flavourful. Me and my siblings got a food platter with lobster, rice, calamari and another platter that I forgot to take a picture of with rice and fish and salad. The sause was mermaid sauce? If I remember correctly and it was so good! Definitely recommend.
