One of the most valuable skills developed is to overcome stage fright. Ms Lulu encourages students to do self-introductions, modelling/cat-walk, sing, dance, and build overall stage presence. This may sound simple but can actually be quite challenging. Being able to confidently acquire this skill takes a dash of grit and more importantly - the opportunities to practice! Ms Lulu works hard to consistently create these opportunities for students in a wide variety of settings! From one-on-one voice lessons, to formal recitals, to community venues, to municipal events, to modelling at fashion shows, to filming music videos, to singing national anthems and performances at crowded sports stadiums, to highly advertised music events in crowded college campuses. Our daughter even got to experience singing in professional grade music recording studios! The value of these experiences in building a child's confidence is absolutely incredible! If your child is considering playing an instrument, sing, dance, or doing any sort of performing arts - This IS hands down the BEST studio! I highly recommend giving them a chance to help nurture and showcase your child's talents!

They offer so many different classes, and there truly is something for every child. My daughter is enrolled in their Hip Hop and All Stars programs, and she absolutely loves it. She looks forward to class every week and has grown so much, both in skill and in confidence. They also put on two major performances each year, along with smaller showcases throughout the season. It's an amazing setup for kids who are interested in performing and want to build stage confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment.

How privileged we are to be able to learn about Korean culture by highly qualified Korean…read moreinstructors from Korea sponsored by King Sejong Institute and the South Korean government -- and additional sponsor, Nongshim. Today I learned about the history, style, lore, importance of the beoseon. I had no idea! After the lesson (lectured in Korean and English), we had the opportunity to practice writing Korean on our beoseon with our black calligraphy pens and cutting out the shape of the beoseon. We then transitioned to sewing our beoseon pattern pouch. I learned that the pouch is significant because it stores the pattern from which your beoseons are made. For example, in olden days, part of a bride's preparation was to make 100 beoseons and bring them to her new family's home. Typically, she would gift each adult in that household 10 beoseons each. Today's experience made me once again appreciate my Korean heritage and fanned a desire in me to learn more. I look forward to more education and making of memories at this fine institution and program. (Note, I was ambitious today. I took back to back classes. The 2nd class was about the ear-shaped pouch. It is a simple but elegant, traditional, and practical pouch to carry money, ID, tobacco, etc.). Two thumbs way up for both classes today. The lecturer was top notch and passionate about her topic, and the staff on site were all welcoming and helpful. I hope to experience more with this group! #2025SejongCultureAcademy #KingSejongInstituteFoundation #KoreanCulture

And all the paintings were for sale. ("Art museums and art galleries are two different types of entities. The primary difference is that while one goes to an art museum to view art, one goes to an art gallery to view art, from the perspective of purchasing the art.") But it's possible that other parts of this museum only displayed art just for viewing. I'm not familiar with Pomona but this art museum/gallery is located in a nice area. It is in the basement of a building and seemed cavernous down there. (Cavernous in a cool way.) Lighting was not so pleasing, at least, as far as the section where Charisse Abellana's paintings were located. Restrooms: There is one for each traditional gender. They are located in the courtyard of the building next to a Vietnamese restaurant. (Ask the key from the museum operator.) The restrooms are a bit out of the way. Parking: There are free two-hour parkings by and around the building. Also during the evening, the Chase Bank next door offers parking for a flat $10. That is highway robbery. Here in West L.A., bank-parking lots become free during nights and Sundays. And this is West L.A. Business Hours: I'm not sure if the hours posted here on yelp are accurate (they end at 6:30 pm). Because the reception I attended ended at 9 pm. Back to Charisse Abellana's art show, it ends March 30th. Some of the paintings can be seen from some of the pictures that I posted.
