I was able to make an appointment which was nice. I really like the idea of being serviced on time. Most salons even with an appointment, you have to wait. They also take walk ins. My friends recommended this place to me specifically Erica. Who was amazing. My mom also came with me. Her experience was not so great. First the place isn't really clean compared to other salons I've been to. And it seems according to the reviews punctuality isn't big here. Tai had called to say she'd be 15 minutes late (my mom's appt was at 315), so Lilly started her pedicure. So we both started our pedicures at the same time. While I was half way done with my pedicure my mom still hadn't even had a clear coat applied because Lilly would stop every couple minutes or so to send a text or answer a phone call. So she ended up spending more than an hour on just a pedicure. Tai didn't come back till almost 430, more than an hour late for her scheduled appt. But while I was getting my mani my mother again had to wait while Tai ate. She ended up leaving with a cut on her finger and one toe. She loved the color but said she would not come back, she didn't feel like her time was valued. She said they spent more time socializing than actually doing her nails. Erica on the other hand was very efficient and took her time to make sure my nails were perfect. Only downside is my nails did chip within about 4 days of getting them done. After calling multiple nail places & asking about the wait I called this place and asked her what the wait time was for 2 mani/pedi's & 1 mani, she said there was no wait time. After waiting 20 mins I asked if i had spoken to her on the phone, she said yes & i asked why she said there was no wait for 3 people & says "well she didn't have to wait." She finally takes the second person, they sit in the chair waiting for a pedicure but after 10/15 minutes we decided to leave. The first person that was taken had also been waiting 10/15 mins for their manicure to start. So I literally work at chase bank on saw mill river rd made a last minute appt. around 3:30pm for 5p. The lady on the phone was trying to make me take the 4:45p appt even after I told her I get off work by 5p. So I settle on the 5p she then proceeds to say 10mins has a late fee and 15mins your appt canceled my watch said 5:09 pm it takes about 8 mins to walk there. I usually don't write many reviews online but coming to this salon was one of the worst experiences that I've ever had. Like many other reviewers have stated, this is more likes local hangout, not somewhere that you go to relax. I visited quite some time ago and never went back because I remember that they cut me and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Nevertheless, I decided to give the salon another chance. The nail technician was on her phone texting and making personal calls for most of the time that I was there, which I really did not appreciate. It was beyond unprofessional. When she took out her tools, they were not in the sanitizing station. I even saw one of the women cleaning her pedicure tools in someone's dirty pedicure water and picking up the tools off the floor and using them after dropping them. If I wasn't aggravated enough from that, the woman took a chunk of skin off the side of my toe and when I say it would not stop bleeding, I'm not lying. They put several different sprays and products on the wound which burned like crazy. They proceeded to put sugar in my open cut to stop the bleeding. Safe? I have no idea. I was ready to walk out but the only thing stopping me was that they still had to take off my gel polish. I was skeptical that the nail technician that I had wasn't really certified at all. I had to ask several times for her to cut my nails or fix my polish. She didn't even buff off the residue left from my previous gel manicure or scrub the bottom of my feet with a metal tool (which I saw everyone else doing). When I went to dry my nails (FINALLY) I messed up the polish and one nail and instead of taking the polish off, she just painted over it. Needless to say, my nails are full of bumps and look horrible. The sides of my nails are also burning from how many times she cut me. I will not be returning to this salon and I will advise others that I know not to go here. After all of my trouble with getting cut, receiving a horrible manicure and pedicure, subpar customer service and after sitting in the salon for over THREE HOURS for a regular manicure and pedicure, I did not receive an apology nor a discount. Came here to get my nails done on my birthday for a dinner party at 7:30. I came at 5:30 and didn't leave until 7:45. They take 2 hours to do one job. The woman that did my nails was the owners mom? Didn't seem licensed... Started out with one girl and switched to another girl to do a service for a customer that got there after me... The older employee was asking another employee who seemed new there if she was doing her job right? They made me late to my own dinner party on my birthday for a simple gel nail job. I was trying to support this business but the entire place is very unprofessional. Very rude when you walk in. Over priced for the service unlicensed and messy job. My long and natural nails broke after a 5 days. Any other place lasts me about 2-3 weeks. Not very clean, the tools are already used and soaked in a mysterious liquid. This is a great neighborhood nail salon! I was looking for a nail salon that was open before 10 and stumbled upon this find. Upon walking inside, there was a warm and welcoming energy. The ladies are laid back and it's a fun place to be. I met the owner Tai and she was very sweet and kind. She offered us beverages and I was introduced to this Dominican- styled coffee which has cinnamon and nutmeg (yummy)! Prices are good and the young lady that was doing my nails, Herika, was very professional and hooked my nails up! This place was definitely what I needed to start my weekend. My only suggestion really would be in terms of hygiene- to get some of those plastic covers for the pedicure soaking tub. I can say some good and bad things about this place, one they do an amazing job with your nails, however your there for 3+ hours. I've never sat somewhere so long in my life. I booked two appointment on there insta and they said I only had one, kind of annoying but they worked it out so me and my friend could both get our nails done. our appointment was at 3. we didn't sit down in a chair till 4. I did not leave the salon till 7 that night. my nails did look great however they weren't shaped that well. the problem with this salon is that they take walk-ins when there online booking is filed. if you know you have a 3:00 appointment and someone walks in at 2:40, DONT TAKE THEM, easy. another thing DO NOT GET YOUR LASHES HERE. This nail salon was prettier from the outside. The inside was dirty. The workers were very unprofessional. Although they were able to speak English fluently, the chose to speak Spanish. I found that very offensive because they definitely were able to communicate in English. The workers, as well as the owner did not stop talking to each other for a second. So much for a relaxing experience! I told the owner I was diabetic ands I told her to be gentle and very CAREFUL. Needless to say, she completely ignored me. Trying to be patient while she was cleaning under my nail, I could no longer tolerate the pain and I told her the pain was intense. Her reply was "Don't watch her and to focus on something else". Seconds later, in a very agressive voice I told her I can not take the pain anymore". Damage was done....she cut my skin on both big toes and use liquid band aid on both places. For the life of me, I don't understand how she knew and understood when I said diabetic but obviously did not take heed to my words. While observing her, she was using the tool in the wrong direction. Any nail professional knows that when cleaning the sides of the nails, the tool should start at the bottom of the toe and go upwards. The technician (the owner) went downward instead. That technique causes ingrown toenails. After the longest hour and a half, I was able to escape this pathetic place which in the name of this place is called "Spa and Salon". The following day, I ran into 2 other clients that were in this salon and also were not happy. They had their fingernails done ands there were chipping after 1 day. Worst nail salon I've ever been to. I came in for Patricia which is an amazing manicurist- she takes her time and does a great job. However, she was busy and I had to have another manicurist work on me.. The tools were not sterilized, and I woke up the next day with a nasty infection and swollen nail beds on my middle and ring fingers. In addition to this I had to have a half hour wait for no reason, as the woman was conversing in the back and didnt even know I had been waiting. If i could give this place 0 stars i definitely would. While getting my pedicure done, i was cut so deep and i would keep flinching in pain, a lady would hold my foot and pat it to get me to stop moving as if i was a child! I was flinching in pain because she was ripping off so much skin. On top of her cutting me, when she was filing the top of my toe nails she would also be filing my skin really hard, again i would flinch and she would do the same and push or pat my foot to sit still. When she put a load of acetone on my toes it burned so bad i could cry. She cut my nails WAY shorter than it could even reach. And she didn't clean up the paint she messed up and it looks lumpy. I asked for white and it looks so messy. i couldve done a better job myself Same problem with my nails on my hands, she filed them down wayyyyyy too much, my nails were already short and weak, also didnt clean up the paint around it and would curse under her breath if she messed up. She also gave me a dirty look when i accidentally dipped my foot back in the water after cutting my cuticles so deep. I am so unhappy with the paint job and treatment. I usually come here because they do extraordinary work for a reasonable price but to be honest it really isn't worth it. I decided to give them another chance just because I live in the area, but as I'm sitting here waiting to do my nails i'll write a review. I've been sitting here waiting to be seen for the last hour and a half. In addition, haven't been seen yet or even asked what I would like to do. The staff is nice but they are way too preoccupied with their personal conversations and phone conversations. Instead of finishing with their customers, I've seen one of the nail specialists pick her phone up at least 4 times. Like I said, the staff is really nice and they do your nails really well for a reasonable price, but the wait alone makes you so dissatisfied. I honestly would pay an extra $10-20 if i didn't have to wait as long as I did here. You should improve on taking care of your customers needs instead of focusing on yourself and being in conversation with each other at all times.
