He walked us through our options and helped us navigate the best windows for our price range. The gentleman who measured was efficient and exact with his measurements. They told me it would take 6-8 weeks before my windows came in and that was also correct. They called when they were in and set a day/time to install. The installers arrived promptly at 8 am and immediately got to work. They were polite, professional, cleaned up after themselves and did a fantastic job. The windows are beautiful and they were done by 1 pm. I can't say enough about what a great job they did and everyone I came into contact with was outstanding. I hate to leave a one star review. But I am. I bought a tailor made bay window 20 years ago, and it is beautiful. I did windows and doors in my home and that service was a 5 star review. I called the company for service on the window. They were pretty prompt about coming out to see the issue. That was a 5 star review. I was told that they would handle the repair. By the gentleman standing in my dining room. Now. They won't call back. The receptionist who answers the phone swears she passes on the message. I have called multiple times. The last time I said I would leave a bad review. I am sure they decided they did not want to handle the repair. But, be an adult and just say so. The window is in good shape otherwise. Earlier this year (it was still pretty frigid out, so maybe Jan/Feb) after one of those big wind storms we noticed a few long nails on our porch. We have an awning and yep, those nails were ones that are meant to keep the awning up and against the house. We really didn't know how old the awning was, so we searched and found Tailor Made Windows and Doors and asked if they could come out and take a look. They came out, measured, and gave us a choice of colors, and a quote. We ended up choosing the same color we had before, but now it is shiny and new! Completion of the project including removal of the old, installation of the new, and total clean-up was quick and professional. After the new awning was up and I was reviewing the work and speaking with them, I found out that there was pretty much one nail holding up the whole thing! If it would have fallen, we could have lost a front window and who knows what else -- yikes! Our house looks great, we are happy with the work and and price we paid for it. We will definitely use them again for any other doors or windows (hopefully not another awning soon). I saw on their website that they do energy assessments, gutters, and siding too. Asked Steve F. to come out and give us a quote on some windows I thought needed replacing, the whole house. Instead of selling us something we didn't need he indicated some fixes we could make because the windows are still in good shape and not worth replacing. Breath of fresh air. Company's initial sales pitch was honest and fair, with zero pressure. Team, including company owner, came out to inspect the house and perform an exceptionally thorough energy audit on entire house for free. They improved much of the house, including adding insulation, replacing old/inadequate insulation in the basement, replacing the windows, sealing cracks around the fireplace, adding a removable stop to better seal the fireplace when it was not in-use, sealing a large open area in the basement's ceiling that was pulling heat, resealing a pipe from the furnace that could leak CO, etc. My only complaints were: 1. it took MONTHS to get the salesman and internal-numbers-person to coordinate with each other to send in our documentation to the IRS in order to get tax credits for the improvements. They both kept saying "talk to the other guy," yet they both worked in the same office. It should not have been that hard for the two of them to get together and call me. 2. one of the installers cut into my deck without asking in order to install a window. I would have consented, but I was upset he did not ask first. read more

But, I stopped in to the Tailor Made showroom one Saturday afternoon to actually see the product. I was so happy I did! No high pressure pitch, no renaming someone elses product to call it your own, no bashing another company, no ridiculous light shows, just honest information. I set an appointment for Steve to come out, look at the scope of work and discussed my installation options. I thought over my choices between Tailor Made and the other companies I had estimates with. The choice was simple--Tailor Made. I ordered the doorwall and had it installed about 6 weeks later. It turned out beautifully, the exterior work I was so concerned about turned out even better than I thought it would. The interior casing, which I didn't have before, is also beautiful.
