He refused to shop around even though my premiums doubled. He insured my home for twice the value, telling me the extra coverage was required since the cost to rebuild was more than the value (even though there was other coverage that was supposed to cover that need). He was unprofessional and condescending. Stacy (his wife) was also not helpful. I finally found another agent who put me with a top named insurance company and saved me approximately $3,600 a year on homeowners and auto insurance and I don't have to prepay upfront a year's premium to get a discount. I am now paying half what I was with Mr. Fine's Agency. Also, iIt is the same to pay monthly as it is to pay everything up front and my limits of liability were double with Mr. Fine and now my deductibles are much lower. I would recommend not using Mr. Fine's Agency since it is clear he doesn't act in the client's best interests and gives you a hard time with cancellations and getting refunds. I note his 5-star reviews are over 5 and 6 years ago.

It's just been really nice having a place that explains things in normal language instead of legal-eagle riddles. There are some DIY parts (mostly funding the trust), but they walk you through it. You just have to have the follow through. They also give you lifetime free updates and free yearly reviews. My aunt actually switched from her old attorney because he charged her for every tiny update--like, even small changes came with a new bill. With Family Tree, she can just call and get things adjusted. When my mom passed in 2024, their team helped me sort through everything that needed to move through her trust. We did have to pay for probate on one account, but that was on us--she never retitled it into the trust. If she had, probate wouldn't have been necessary at all. It was a good reminder that you can't just stick the estate planning folder they give you in a drawer and forget it exists. They also updated the trust for just my dads situation once it was all settled. The only cost was the probate, the help, the new trust for my dad, the advice etc was all part of the service they offer. More recently, my aunt had a messy inherited IRA issue that Wells Fargo completely botched. When she asked for senior management, the WF manager told her they dont monitor regulations for IRA accounts and that's what CPAs are for (which is really upsetting, I'm pretty sure if you manage it you should be responsible for knowing the rules...) It was an IRA that had been inherited twice, and Wells Fargo told her she didn't have to take distributions... which was very wrong and could've gotten her in trouble with her taxes. Jason stepped in, reviewed the account, checked the laws, and even pulled in their CPA to confirm everything. He got it sorted out quickly, and my aunt finally understood what was actually required. Overall, Jason and the staff have been helpful and patient. Having a team that actually supports you and explains things clearly makes a huge difference. I definitely recommend them.
