I am in the process of buying my first single family house. On top of a home inspection, my friend…read moreand real estate agent also recommended that I perform an oil tank sweep and a radon test. Finding a vendor that can 'do-it-all' was a head-pulling process until I found Mikhail (he goes by 'Michael') who said yes to all three. He showed up on time, immediately ran a ground scan performing the oil tank sweep, thoroughly went through the house for the inspection, and left a radon test kit in the basement to collect an air sample, all for about two hours. Very next day, I received three reports at 9pm: 1. Inspection 2. Termites 3. Oil Tank Sweep Currently awaiting a radon test result. Since collecting a sample takes two days and the sample has to be shipped to a lab, several more days are needed. He's done a great job and I highly recommend hiring him for your due diligence. Thanks, Michael! Dan

Now I'm stuck with thousands of dollars of bills to repair after the purchase of the home. When I asked the company to compensate via insurance, they stated I signed an agreement which I can only claim damages up to the amount of the inspection fee $450!!!. They screwed me and cost me money on the home price as well as repair and refuse to make me whole! Mark Bendit, shame on you! Please check the agreement before you sign. It says you waive your right to be compensated above the inspection fee if they are negligent!! Do not sign! Do not use their services!!! UPDATE!! Based on owners response: The owner didn't refer me to his insurance as he claims. He referred me to his lawyer, who stated they were not obligated to pay me for their negligence. They will only return my inspection fee if I sign a release form. Mark, please don't make me post the release form next. Having your insurance fix the damage would have been the honorable thing to do.

He then went over the key points with us and provided a detailed 95 page report with pictures and description of each and every issue, as well as a separate short 7 page summary report. I would recommend Clever Inspections to my relatives and best friends. I am sure you will be satisfied with the service. I compared prices with three other providers and Clever Inspections, though not the lowest, provided the most thorough estimate and they more than lived up to their promise. A few of the many photos provided are attached.

He came on time, communicated clearly, checked everything in the unit very carefully, and delivered us a high quality report with not only a list of any things he found but also recommendations on how to maintain or fix findings. He also helped accommodate requests for what to look for too. On top of this, once we moved in to the unit we had some questions about his findings and tips for fixing some home issues and he thoughtfully helped advise us. Value (5/5): The value and price for the service was competitive and I highly recommend him.

    ERC Environmental - tank removal

I recently hired ERC Environmental Inc to remove my oil tank. After the removal, a leak was…read morediscovered, so I hired them for the soil remediation. Since I was unfamiliar with the process, I trusted their initial quote of over $8,990. However, they tacked on unexpected fees to the final bill. Ultimately, they only dug up less than 8 feet of soil directly beneath the tank, and the subsequent soil test failed. Following the failed test, they claimed I needed a structural engineer and that the project would cost an additional $20,000 to $30,000 just for the engineer, plus extra costs for more soil removal. When I stated this was out of my budget, there was zero effort to negotiate or offer a fixed-price option. They just look for ways to keep charging you. After paying them nearly $12,000 with no resolution, I cut ties and hired Simple Tank. I highly recommend Simple Tank instead--they clearly explained my options, outlined the necessary steps, and charged a fair, reasonable price. Avoid ERC Environmental. DON'T FALL INTO THEIR TRAP! I WISH I CAN BE ABLE TO RATE THEM A NEGATIVE 10. I yet need to take further action with them. There was further remediation with Simple Tank without the engineer. DON'T HIRE THEM! YOU WILL BE SORRY. THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS MUST GAVE THEM THE GOOD RATINGS. DON'T FALL FOR IT.

I hired ERC for the removal of an abandoned oil tank located in the front of my house. I recently…read moresold my house and required this to be done before closing. I spoke with Tina Heeley who was very helpful and nice. I have to say she made the start of the process pretty simple as she emailed me the estimate and I was also able to provide a payment through email. The waiting period for the permit was lengthy but I assume it was no fault of theres. Moving on. The technician arrived and also seemed nice. However, when they completed the work, I noticed that my front sidewalk was significantly cracked in three places. So much that the technician placed a large cone on it, because it was not safe for pedestrians to walk on. The technician did tell me about the damages and I just assumed it would be repaired by the company. Right? I mean if you break something, you should replace it? Well Not ERC! When I contacted their office and spoke with Hugh Tat I immediately realized that they were not planning on repairing the damages they caused to my sidewalk. They noted that their "contract" states that they are not responsible for any damages. However, he stated that he would "work" with me. Knowing this, I went the cheaper route in repairing the sidealk and hired a handyman to basically make it look better or enough to be safe for pedestrians. When I advised Hugh Tat of this, he said the BEST they can do is $250 to help with the cost because $500 was too much. WOW! If $500 is too much, what would have they said about the $1150 for the proper repair. In any case, it has been over a month and I have yet to receive the $250. Save yourselves the headache and don't hire this company as they can basically break your property and not feel responsible to fix it because "it is noted in their contract" that they can do so.
