TERRIBLE & GHETTO SERVICE!!!!!! Let me start off by saying that I really do my best to support black businesses. But, situations like this can be a huge slap in the face for someone like me! The first time I came here the concrete was risen up by the door, so when you opened up the door it's slammed onto the concrete. When I went to pick up my overalls, the concrete was still risen, so I asked the guy when they were going to get it fixed, and he told me that he will fix it when I pay for it. O_O I had it in my mind right then and there that I was never going to go back to that cleaners. Not to mention, it seemed like the manager (or whoever he) is was arguing with his wife at the same time of my arrival, which is very unprofessional. Originally, I took my $200 pair of overalls in to get the button fixed on the back... how is it that something that I didn't even take it into get fixed ended up broken? After seeing that the buttons were fixed and getting my overalls out of the cleaners, I proceeded to go out of town like I had planned. When I got to my destination I realized that the overall part was actually broken. How did that happen? I took the overalls back to the cleaners so that they could fix the part on the overall that was broken. He told me that it will be ready in two days. I waited two weeks just to make sure that it would be ready when I picked it up. When I got there it was not ready. He told me that he wanted to talk to me first about the overalls before he tried to order the part. I asked him why he didn't call me. And then it just erupted into an argument. He was being very rude and disrespectful. It seemed like he didn't understand why I was upset. He just didn't get it. The argument got so bad that he actually came outside of the door where I was getting into my car yelling at me. I Googled looking for a community dry cleaners that also provided alterations service. I needed a zipper replaced in a skirt. I picked it up and did not examine it before leaving. Several weeks later I discovered that the zipper was off track. One side was longer than the other. There was also a hole ripped in the skirt lining! I returned it and was offered a "redo". I picked it up the following week. This time I checked it before leaving. The hole was repaired however the zipper had not been repaired. The cashier noticed it too and stated "we did that?". I asked for a refund and her whole attitude changed. She stated that the original zipper was "busted" so we'll put that one back in since you want a refund! We have a box of busted zippers. I sought this business out in an effort to support a community establishment. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning. The woman at the counter was nice but did not need to be working the computer...at all. It took her almost 10 minutes to enter my name and address into the system. An older man appeared and was also nice, but seemed more concerned with pricing than establishing a rapport. I was a little surprised that they didn't have any prices listed. Some things are standard (i.e. laundering shirts). When I inquired about the lack of signage they seemed surprised and responded that "it depends [on the item]." I completely understand things with sequence, leather, etc costing more; but, I've been to other cleaners that have some semblance of a fee schedule. We literally went through each item, with them explaining why one standard dress was a different pricing than another standard dress. It was so weird. Perhaps, it's been a long time since I've done a rush job at a cleaners but I also found it weird that I was charged a fee for next day service (dropped off in the morning, pick up after 5pm next day). I was under the impression that cleaners only charged when you wanted same day (less than 24 hours), but maybe that's an old policy. Anywho, my main issue was that they are extremely expensive! I spent almost $70 to have 3 dresses and a sweater (faux leather trim) cleaned. Everything was new (I launder all of my clothes before wearing #germaphobe), so it wasn't as if they were removing stains. I also purchased all of the items extremely discounted (shout out to those great Macy's sales/coupons). I remember thinking, "I could almost replace the items for the amount I'm paying to clean them!" Overall, I would only consider returning to have them clean items that other places won't clean (i.e. faux leather, fur, sequence, etc). To their credit, they had no reservations about cleaning my sweater and it was not damaged. I've had other cleaners refuse to clean similar items. However, I will find somewhere cheaper for what I consider standard dry cleaning items. read more

I really did not want to rate this with one star but the system would not allow me to leave the stars blank. This place has to be #1 on the top ten list of the worst dry cleaners in Chicago. Let's see where do I begin. I will start with the following: PRICES High as hell! Now check this out if you bring in a garment no matter what it is they will charge an incredibly high price to clean it, but here is the kicker you have to wait a minimum of three days to get it back. Now if you want the garment sooner than 3 days you pay an additional premium price just to have it cleaned before 3 days. SERVICE Is there a word worse than terrible? Well let me qualify the statement. When you come in to pick up your dry cleaning and it is there and ready and you pay your money which is typical of what happens in a dry cleaners then the service is standard. Now when something goes wrong like when they lost my suit, then the extreme customer service you would expect to get for something that was their fault doesn't exist. Let me explain further. I took one of my favorite suits to Tailorite to be dry cleaned, came back after the three days to pick it up and when I gave them my ticket they went to the machine that holds the costumers garments and they kept spinning the machine around over and over and over. this went on for a good five minutes. So I started to get a little worried because typically when you bring your ticket in to a dry cleaners you give them one minute or less and BAM they have your garment ready. So I asked in a calm manner after waiting 6 minutes "is there a problem?". The response I received initially was "oh no not a problem". So then I ask why is it taking 6 minutes to find my suit. they said oh it may have been placed in the wrong slot. So initially I was cool with that accidents happen. But then after 30 minutes went by and I had seen at least 15 customers come and go, my patience had wore off. So I asked the clerk behind the counter where is my suit? The response in a non chalant I don't care tone was "it is here somewhere". So of course by then 45 minutes had elapsed and then they tell me they were gonna be closing soon and they would look for the suit tommorrow. I was livid at that point and said if you couldn't find the suit in the past 45 minutes what makes you think you gonna find it tommorrow? So of course I ask for the owner and the response was he is not here and there is nothing we can do. So I said I am not leaving until I speak with the owner. So they called the owner up at his home and I thought now I am gonna get somewhere. Hah......it only got worse. I had explained to the owner that my suit was lost and what could he do to compensate me for the loss. Oh boy why did I say that? the owner went off on me ..............the customer! Told me while he is sitting in house that my suit is in there and to calm down. I asked him how would he know if the suit is in the cleaners if he is sitting at home chilling? Oh man why did I say that? He told me he had been in business for over 50 years and he doesn't need customers like me and basically if the suit is not found oh well? I thought I was in the twilight zone. So I resorted to using some BS psychology on him and told him "you know what you are right" I am over reacting and perhaps I should just wait until tommorrow to come in you are right you have been in business for 50 years so you must be doing something right. It killed me to say that but I thought if I rant and rave and the suit is actually in there out of spite he will not try to find it. So after bowed down to this dude...........he said I gotta go and hung up the phone. So I wait two days then I came back to the dry cleaners and basically it took them 10 minutes to find my suit and you know they didn't say sorry or this is on us, or we value you as a customer, they basically held out their hand for the money like nothing happened and that was it. So thank god for Yelp because this dude has to be stopped. I just can't believe I am the only customer who has been beat down by this cat. It is a shame to think that Chicago WhiteSox contract him out to clean their uniforms........I thought to myself he would say the crap he said to me to the Chicago White Sox. So what ever you do .............stay far away from Tailorite and tell your friends not to go either. read more

Bad news tends to travel much faster than good news. So if thought I'd share a great experience. I used Tailorite because I wanted to support the business. There are many quick cheap cleaners but I like service. The Service was excellent. The owner carried my clothes to the car for me. My clothes were ready when they were supposed to be. I took in an off white suit that was quite soiled and it was pristinely cleaned. My husbands ripped pants were repaired. I am very pleased. read more

My pants were pressed but not dry cleaned. My pants had the same spots on them. It was my mistake for not checking them prior to leaving the establishment.
