BEWARE! I had an awful experience at Best Cleaners and want to warn anyone considering bringing their luxury items here--DON'T. I brought in a large order including three handbags and a pair of suede Birkenstock slides. Among them was my Louis Vuitton purse with vachetta leather. I was initially told that my items would take extra time because they were being "outsourced to a leather professional." I patiently waited two weeks to pick up my items, trusting they were in the hands of someone knowledgeable. Big mistake. When I got my items back, I was absolutely horrified. My Louis Vuitton was completely ruined--its vachetta leather was darkened, burnt-looking, and destroyed. My Birkenstocks were also discolored beyond repair. When I reached out to discuss the damage, I was met with a dismissive, cold, and unapologetic response from the owner. She took zero responsibility and instead blamed the "age" of my items--as if high-quality materials suddenly burn and discolor on their own! What's even worse is that their response completely contradicts what I was originally told. If my items were truly sent to a professional, why does the owner's response sound like Best Cleaners handled them directly? Were they lying from the start? To add to the horrible customer service, the owner never called me back despite my multiple attempts to get answers. I had to continuously reach out to her, only to be met with a rude, unprofessional attitude. And if you think this was a one-time bad experience, look at their other 1-star reviews. This isn't the first time they've ruined someone's items. Pay close attention to how the owner responds to bad reviews. They act sweet and professional at first, but the moment there's an issue, their attitude flips. Instead of taking accountability, they become hostile and defensive. DO NOT trust Best Cleaners with your high-quality items. They lack the knowledge to properly clean luxury goods and will refuse to take responsibility for any damage they cause. My very first and last time in this establishment was horrible. When I walked in, the young man rolled his eyes and walked away from the counter. I stood there for maybe 5 min and he came back. Not, can I help you or good Afternoon. He said, what. That was my que to leave. As I walked out he made a smart comment, fuck you then. I wanted to say something, but my mind said keep walking. For the past few days, I'd been trying unsuccessfully to zip my winter coat, so I thought I needed new zipper. I looked on Yelp and found this shop. It's located on a main street, ample parking and the person working was very pleasant, although she seemed a bit rushed. I showed her the issue and oddly enough, the zipper was working properly. She quickly assessed that it's a double zipper and it's likely that I was only using one of the zips, which caused the issues. To make sure though, she asked me to try my coat on to make sure the zipper was working properly. I appreciate that she was thorough and helpful. Not sure about her pricing or quality of the work there, but I have a dress that needs a new zipper so I'll see how that goes! read more

Even though the quality of the dry cleaning service is good, I do feel the need to caution customers about the customer service. I don't know how much of it is a cultural problem (because this woman has an accent and probably is originally from another country, not that I fault her for that at all). She just comes across as so rude. I have had a problem for years now where my suit jackets have inexplicable white powder on them, especially around the shoulder area. I have never been able to figure out where it comes from. Someone spraying deodorant at the gym, maybe? According to this drycleaner, it's a result of sweat. Which, okay. Feels good to have an explanation, but that's also very frustrating, because there's no way to put a stop to that. She remembers me from month to month, and when I come in to drop off suits, she'll ask, "Still sweating?" I want to say, "No. I had all my sweat glands removed. Problem solved!" It's not just the stupidity of the question that irks me. It's that she would call attention to something embarrassing, even out loud, in front of other customers. Sweat is bad enough. What if other customers come in with clothing that has urine or semen stains? Is she just going to shout out, "Oh, so you peed yourself!" ? After my most recent suit drop off, she texted me afterward with a photo of pants I brought in, pointing out cat hair on them and criticizing the lack of a crease. brought me and my sisters prom dresses here for alterations and the lady was a little rude, given we walked in right before close but i was grateful she still let us try them on for her to do the correct measurements. she made the straps on my sisters dress way too small and they couldnt even be altered longer so we had to find an alternate way to wear the top, and we asked her to add a slit and the lady only put it in the top layer, so the slip layer was untouched so the dress just looked silly. had to bring it back and she made me pay again for it. i also asked her to alter the straps on my dress and it was looking good but when i tried it back on it just ripped. i took it too a different lady and she was so confused on what this person did to my dress. service was good but the quality of the work is just not it. read more

Needed to have a jumpsuit altered, through Yelp found Best Cleaners. The alteration was perfect and it was ready on time. I was taken aback by the cost for the alteration plus the cost to clean and press two additional items. Thus, 4 stars instead of 5. read more

After reading reviews thought we would use this place for dry cleaning. After picking up clothes noticed chemical burns on several areas of a black shirt that they recommended I have dry cleaned, and also a small tear on the back of a blazer I had pressed. After showing them the burned areas and the tear, they insisted the items were like that when I brought them in to be serviced. They refused to take responsibility for ruining the shirt and tearing the jacket. Poor customer service, very arrogant and unprofessional. I don't recommend using this business. read more

Okay, I took 2 pairs of pants in to be hemmed on Saturday 9/16/23, first impression was the lady was rude. I arrived before 11am; was told next time to come early or later because she's busy packing up clothes during the day. Mind you I'm a paying customer so she wasn't doing me any favors, I let it slide though. I got a text my alterations were ready, I walk in and let her know why I was there. She asked for my ticket, I never received one. She said I did give you one I always do. I gave her a respectful but stern reply because play with someone else lady. She changed her tone and said it's okay we have them. It was two days ago, I would remember. The lady is down right rude and I will never be returning. read more

Please be very careful of Best Cleaners in Homewood Illinois for any type of alterations. On June 30, 2023 I took a pair of pants there for what I thought would be a very simple alteration I wanted the legs tapered and hemed, I tried them on she pinned both legs all the way down, I showed her how much I wanted her to hem them, She told me it would cost $60.00, $30.00 up front and $30.00 when I picked them up. I picked them up Thursday 7/6/23, and they looked no different than when I dropped them off, returned them on Friday 7/7/23 I asked her if she would make the corrections since she had already been paid, she said no she did not make a mistake, but she would fix them for an additional $30.00, I said no way, why would I give you more money to correct your mistake. Chris is amazing! She is truly a very talented seamstress and I'm lucky I found her! I needed alterations done for a bridesmaid's dress. The final product was beautiful. And when I asked for a last minute additional alteration, she was able to finish it so quickly. I am very appreciative of her willingness to take on the work, despite knowing how busy she was with other customers' items. She's very kind and complimentary, and eased my concerns about how I'd look and feel in my dress. Not to mention, her prices are significantly lower than other cleaners/seamstresses in the area.
