People say all the time that training dogs turns them into robots... this couldn't be further from…read morethe truth. Our dogs were baseline trained before we started going to Custom K9 and now are very well trained with the plus of off leash obedience. Having your dog under control and stable in public and around all types of dogs makes for SO many more opportunities for fun. Now that our dogs are "robot" trained they get to go with us everywhere. They get to run around dog friendly beaches off leash and have the time of their life since we can keep them under control. Our lives and our dogs are happier, less stressful, more adventurous and the biggest one.. safer now that they are reliably trained.

Izzy is listening better, learning to walk on a leash and is no longer afraid of other dogs (or maybe that was my fear). Diane and her crew are wonderful. Are they tuff? Absolutely! Because they care about the dogs. Could you get your feelings hurt? Maybe, because they care about the dogs!. Are you going to be encouraged when they see progress?. Absolutely! Because they care about the dogs. On days it's time to go to "School" Izzy runs to the front door, sits, and waits for her training collar to be put on!. It's awesome. I would recommend J&J to every dog owner!!!!!

Back when I lived on a 40-acre ranch in Northern California, I had plenty of space and other dogs around to help with the process. When my wife and I were fostering dogs in Michigan, she fell in love with a Miniature Pinscher mix named Obi. He was different from any dog I'd trained before, and without other dogs to help with training, it was a challenge. We needed Obi to be able to travel the world with us and assist my wife with her PTSD. Within six weeks, Fred from The Dog Wizard trained us on how to make Obi an incredible companion. The transformation was night and day. Now, Obi walks calmly by our side unless given the 'free' command. He accompanies us to stores, ignoring everything and everyone around him. One of his biggest issues was reacting to other dogs on leash--no longer a problem! Recently, we visited a crowded cider mill with hundreds of kids running around. Obi stayed calmly by my feet, unaffected by the chaos. Kids asked to pet him, and I explained he was working. I can't say enough good things about Fred; he's like family now. What he did for us truly means the world to me."

Tara, is a…read moreproclaimed "Groomer" at this location who has, for lack of legal terms, assaulted my dog/companion. I have had my loved one groomed at Bingos in Royal Oak (amazing staff) and at the Grosse Point Pet Salon- also very professional (in-laws were old Grosse Pionters) for the past half + decade) I only point this out as what I am about to show you, will be in disbelief, as it was to me. Tara, I believed attempted to rush and with disregarded the relationship between her and Chip. I have worked with patients who are homeless, belligerent and drug addicts- as a ER/ICU nurse from Detroit, Virginia to Sacramento. I understand these situations are difficult but you already committed by the time to called me. I believe there was no introduction or approach phase that Tara allotted. (Not saying my dog deserves the same respect to unconditional care, but does deserve the sense of approach as when to and when not to intervene, (that is all). Tara did not give Chip that condition, you lacked the humanity to sense that, and I sincerely hope you find peace before you preform maleficence (speaking to Tara). I actually stayed outside Auckland, NZ with sheep farmers during a student ambassador program (2006) I completed in through the USGov- who handled cattle for slaughter with more respect than what I believe Tara did for my beloved Chip. I have respect for Dr. Plein and his end handling of my relationship with them (no, I will never return). Tara is of NO action of Dr. Pleins'. She is an action of her own. I would have hesitation if she were to handle your beloved furry one. I have no opinion on her employment status but I would have HESITATION, as a registered nurse. AVOID TARA!!! For context. I dropped Chip off, who was somewhat matted. But the photos are of what I had been presented with on my return. Note the chunks of hair I proceeded to remove from Chip after the staff escorted him out of a cage. Chip was dropped off prior to the groomers arrival for her shift. The location opens at 8am, I dropped him of at the earliest 0730-0745. timestamp of my voicemail was 0808, to pick him up (also attached). They open at 0800, and seemingly she slighted straight towards sedation as if that were within her scope as a "groomer". This is of great concern BTW in a very fundamental way. Meanwhile, this was his and her first time encountering each other. In no longer than 8 minute (given that is when the voicemail started recording) between you clocking in and forcing your shears against my dog and being aggravated against him for his lack of tolerance for you being rushed... such an inhumane human being! She decided to shave him down the middle (like two-face) and then declare he was "too aggressive" to handle. Chip, was eventually managed by this facility. Like I said, this beloved family member of mine has never been dealt such MALEFICENCE from a proclaimed "groomer" such as Tara. Please avoid her as your groomer. Dr. Plein Rectified my disgust for the situation but I cannot speak for her continuation of employment. I can only say, here is your warning.

I only go to positive trainers because fear based training not only doesn't work in the long run, but can make your dog more likely to bite out of fear without warning. Roz's education on all things training, especially working with fearful dogs, is top notch. Roz is always seeking out seminars, articles, and other scholarly work to improve her skills. She has a true love for the sport of dog fancy. Wally's agility skills and attention have come a long way in 9 weeks, and my skills at handling have improved too. Roz provides honest feedback in a direct manner that make it easy to understand the mistakes you're making. The structure of Roz's class is great. She teaches all of the obstacles in a logical order. The trick training she provides at the beginning of each class work on your dogs attention, as well as building your dogs body awareness, and muscles needed to do dog sports safely. The content of the class is personalized for each training pair, making sure adjustments are made for the dogs' sizes or abilities. You

We have been coming here for agility and dog training for over a year…read more After trying over five different training facilities, we are ecstatic that we have finally found a superb trainer who is friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic. It is a joy to come to every class and never fail to either learn something new or become better at a previous trick. We had a very hard time simply teaching our Havanese to "stay" and during Rockin' Relationship which is an ongoing training session to increase your personal relationship with your dog. The trainer was constantly recommending different methods to help train our dog. When she introduced us to platform training, it was like a god send. Our dog finally learned to stay and passed her canine good citizen exam. In fact every dog in that class passed that exam. Roz believes if you have a positive relationship with your dog, your dog will want to be with you and do what you ask instead of command, which greatly helped with our dog who never listened to commands. We learned to reward good behavior and simply ignore the bad. It works. We highly recommend MyHero Dog Training to everyone with a dog. She is exceptionally tolerant of all dogs, even dogs that are fear reactive whom most trainers are not qualified to help train.
