I finally had the chance to try out this place and it did NOT disappoint! My cousin made the reference and she has wonderful taste like me and of course she recommended the butter chicken dish but I tried their mango chicken because I just loooove mango. It was so good! I got my husband the butter chicken and he loved that! I also got an order of butter naan and garlic naan and everything was so good! My order came out to $41 and I think that's a steal for the quality of the food!!! I called in and it was quick but once I arrived I saw that there is no ramp (no easy access for someone with mobility issues) and it's a little dark inside but it's not necessarily an issue for me bc if I were to dine inside, I'd ask to be seated next to a window to be near more light I needed. There was a woman at the counter and within the time of me picking my order, it was clear to me, that she was friendly. We joked around in the little amount of time we shared and I just really liked her vibes (lol). I agree with all the other reviews here that talk about this place being a hidden gem because a lot of places in Killeen are not that good (imo). read more

Top three Indian food we've had! The vegetable korma was delicate and full of vegetables. The shrimp biryani was flavorful and moist. The naan is tender and slightly crisp. The samosa were perfect! I've never had better tasting food in my life. I got the lamb tikka and it was divine. I got my food to go and the hostess was so helpful and friendly. I waited around 20 minutes. I highly recommend this traditional Indian restaurant for both its food, preparations and its service. The South Indian dishes are awesome and their tandoori are really really good chicken vindaloo and chicken and tikka masala are both well done. We tried this place since there's hardly any Indian food places in this whole area and we aren't crazy about the other option. It is sketchy looking outside, nicer inside and clean. The bathroom was clean, but very run down and smelled awful. The staff were not friendly at all even when we made an effort to be kind. However, the food was really good. We tried the veg samosas, tadka dal, chicken kadai, and garlic naan. The food heat is set to American heat standards so if you want it actually spicy, let them know. I added a touch of salt to mine, but other than that we will definitely return for the food. read more

I took those photos in your restaurant while I was on the phone with Door Dash. Ask the lady sitting at the host table. I'm sure you know that because I overheard her on the phone with you, explaining why I was there for a refund. You just confirmed your lack of empathy for your customers (former customers). Ordered online using MealHi5 (as directed by a link on the restaurant's website). First, after ordering, you're never given a time to pick up your food, so we tried calling the restaurant but no one would answer (Wednesday at around 5:30p). So we arrived at 6:00p - an hour after ordering. We're told that the order hadn't come through MealHi5 yet, and my husband called the customer service. MealHi5 said the restaurant was notified immediately of our order AND they acknowledged receipt of the order, so MealHi5 said they would call the restaurant owner. After that was straightened out, we were told it would be "just a few minutes," and 30 minutes later, we had our food. We ordered $77 worth of food; however, our three orders of naan were excluded, as well as one of the two orders of vegetables pakora. So $10 of our order never made it into the bag. While their food tastes fine, it is NOT worth the frustration. read more

Rough start going into an old club/bar that smelled of smoke. The host, who was also the waiter and entire wait staff said he wasn't sure how to sit people in covid. He was very nice but not trained. When the menus arrived, he started to tell us everything that was not available. We ordered one tikki Masala and Saag paneer. After 30 minutes we asked for it to go because we needed to be at my sons play. The waiter brought it out and said lots of people needed it to go. We ate the To go a little later and it was okay. Not great. Not bad. Fine and that's why they received at least 2 stars. We will probably not eat there again. read more

We love Taj! We live in Killeen and used to travel to Cedar Park and Austin for good Indian food. So happy to have great quality close by. We dine in at Taj at Least once a week. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and food is very fresh. Staff are friendly, polite and welcoming. We are working our way through the entire menu and haven't had a bad meal yet. Side note: I had surgery on my jaw and need to be on a "soft food" diet for a couple of months. Their Dal soup, vegetable curry, and raita have been a life saver and kept me from being miserable and starving to death. Since COVID They do a lot of to go orders, but we prefer the personal experience of dining in house. Either way please support your local family and veteran owned businesses!!! The butter chicken was also delish it had a sweeter taste. I didn't try the curry chicken because it was my husband lol. In Killeen, TX, you would not expect to find a seriously good Indian Restaurant. I assure you it is pretty good. We made a family decision to eat at this Indian Restaurant and no one regretted it. The food was excellent and presented in a great manner. The service was as excellent as the food. I concede the ambiance was being improved but it too was in a upswing. When you walk in you are met with an exciting aroma of garlic and curry!!! After my husband and I were seated we ordered the samosas, deep fried tofu , garlic naan, shrimp tikka masala , chicken tikka. Oh my gosh all the food was so amazing!! The naan bread was soft yet it had a crunch to it, which meant that when I loaded it up with my shrimp tikka ( that was cooked to perfection), it held up. Awesome food and friendly people! I have yet to eat a bad meal here. It's never that crowded, which sucks for them, but is good for me. Please help them out. They are attached to the Red Lion Hotel on the north side of Central Texas Expressway. I recommend the chicken korma. It's to die for. Also, they always show Indian music videos here. Only did uber eats, I have never been in the restaurant. The Garlic Naan was really great! Generous amount of garlic and herbs on the Naan, really enjoyable. The Dal soup was unique and tasty. I could have eaten several bowls of that soup! Appreciated that I left a note to vmhave extra spicy vindaloo, and they delivered. The Vindaloo had a really strong kick.
