Let those robust flavors trigger our noses and make them drip! When it comes to Indian cuisine, we probably expect nothing less. This place does just that! I haven't had really tasty Indian food since living in Fremont, CA. It's great to find one in this growing town of Temple, TX. I promised I'd write this review after tasting their Lamb Biryani. I'm confirming that it's SO GOOD, I'd totally have it again! What I love about dishes like that is everything is in one satisfying meal with an easy clean up after eating. I've dined inside before with some family. They have a great wine wall with good selections. Their anbience is warm with pops of shimmer and color from their decorations. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Thank you for going above and beyond! Sure to return and taste other menu specialties. I'll have to ask if they serve falooda (rose) ice cream next time.

Had a wonderful time, Thank You for the Beyond GREAT customer service TAZ Indian Cuisine.!!

Today, my mother had suggested this place after going with my father once and my brother and I loved it! WOW.!! The buffet was great and a wonderful variety of traditional Indian cuisines/ dishes (tandoori chicken to chicken Tikka, etc.) Outstanding customer service and attention to detail (Probably the BEST I've had in years at any restaurant). My family was very impressed and really, really enjoyed going there and will definitely be back! A++++++ Really Beautiful looking restaurant.!! Thank You again,

We had phenomenal food from Taz for a large group dinner. We had vegetable biryani, vegetable samosa, butter chicken, onion pakora, and naan for food. For sauces, we had tamarind, green, tomato, and coconut chutney. I loved the veg biryani + butter chicken combo, and the naan was fragrant. The food was spicy but at a very tolerable level.

La Riv is a great dinner spot for a nicer, celebratory meal with family or friends with locations…read morein both Temple and Georgetown! It's pricey for the portion size but has nice menu offerings for an Italian steakhouse. It was nice to try but I don't plan on returning. NOTES: - Reservations: available online through OpenTable - Parking: free lot in front and next to the building - Happy hour: Tuesday to Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm - Closed Sunday and Monday THE HIGHS: - Beautiful interior and comfortable seating - Attentive servers and food comes out quickly - They will split salads for you which makes it easy to share - Wood fired pizza is AMAZING! - Chocolate cake for dessert... one of the best pieces I've ever had! THE LOWS: - Expensive for the portion size - Server was super friendly but she came to the table too often... it kept interrupting our conversation and she would ask how the food was before we had even taken a bite - Bucatini al' La Riv... the pasta was house made and cooked to a nice al dente but the dish lacked flavor and was very bland - Some of the menu items don't have prices listed (golden beets salad which was new and the chocolate cake slice which I think was a special) THE PRICE: Expensive for the portion size (good quality but not justified by the price) - Tea ($2.75) - Garlic ciabatta bread ($6) - Grilled wedge salad ($18) - Golden beefs salad ($18) - Pizza Bianca ($22) - Bucatini al' La Riv ($24) - Ravioli ($28) - Short rib pappardelle ($36) - 2 chocolate cake slices ($16 each) The total was $202.16 after tax ($15.41) but before tip. BEST BITES: - Chocolate cake (moist, fudgey, and rich in all the best ways) - Pizza Bianca (delicious sourdough crust with wood fired char, fresh ingredients, and the perfect size for a meal or sharing as an appetizer) - Garlic ciabatta bread (getting 4 pieces for $6 feels like a steal compared to some of the other menu items... it was a perfect appetizer to share) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to La Riv and I enjoyed my meal overall. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and there was no acknowledgement... I kind of wish they had made the dinner feel a little more special. With how expensive it is, I don't think I'll be returning and probably would only recommend it to others if they really want to splurge and don't have any other options.

I have been driving by this place for MONTHS after a tornado ripped thru this part of Temple. After…read morerefurbishing I heard they changed it up a bit so I suggested to the hubs that we try them out for date night - and MAN were we Supremely happy we did!! This little place is completely redone inside to look like a high class bar and dinner venue!! We stared w the Ahi Tuna Crudo - super fresh Ahi tuna beautifully presented with a surprising and refreshing arrangement of pickled celery, and sweet Italian peppers, served over a delicate avocado puree and tiny dots of citrus ponzu. The plate was Beautiful! Our next adventure; lightly charred pieces of octopus atop slightly pureed cannelloni beans. Now this is an unlikely and unusual pairing, but it WORKS!! SPLENDIDLY!! And again, the presentation is beautiful Generous portions of octopus with a char that gives it a slight smokiness and perfectly cooked to make for a tender bite and with the puree? Not since Italy have we been so amazed!! The saltiness with hints of chilis in the background, the texture of the beans, the slight chew and smoothness of the octopus; an elevated flavor combo that knocks it out the Park! As we wait for our main courses the restaurant fills with patrons and I'm gazing around, noting the Huge pizza oven. It's rustic and beautifully made; tiny tiles overlaying its upper surface making for a gorgeous and impressive visual in the midst of the bustling kitchen. I love that it is used as a WALL of sorts on its outer edge. I also love that one has a view of the kitchen via a smallish viewing glass next to the oven. Another site is the bar! Now mind you. This is TEMPLE. But this bar, and really the entire inside of this establishment is something you'd expect to see in the bigger cities like Austin or Dallas!! It's Truly a class act!! White linen clad tables, servers dressed black and white, beautiful decor. Not something you would expect in this area!! Our awesome server Austin takes excellent care of us; taking the time to stop in often to chat and share with us his wanderings, life experiences, and Menu Expertise!! We love the interaction! And then Austin brings out our MAINS!! And OH MAN GUYS.... First up is the Osso Bucco. I've had Osso Bucco in many places; I've MADE Osso Bucco. This is PERFECTION. Not too much demi which is almost ALWAYS the case, in stead of Drowning in the sauce this dish gives just enough so that you can scoop up perfect bites of light and creamy polenta. Not a trace of its gritty source this polenta is airy and buttery smooth promoting mere corn to another level altogether. The Real Star here tho is the Veal Shank. We are presented with lavish portion - the shank bone is served with a tiny bone fork alongside; given to scoop out the unctuous velvety richness that is the inner MARROW!!! And when I say wow? I mean WOWWWWWWW The flavor of the shank is a consume of beefy richness with hints of herbs As much as I LOVE LOVE LOVED the veal tho? The homemade pasta stole it for me honestly. Now, my hubs and I are blessed enough to go to Italy a couple times a year, and we have YET to taste pasta like this!! La Riv makes their own pasta in house and GUYSSSSSSSS we tried the Pappardelle with beef rib; Gorgeous braised beef chunks swimming in a delicate jus and herb ricotta to mix in. The beef is melt in your mouth tender while the Pappardelle has a slight bite telling you it is FRESH!! I LOVE the texture of this pasta. It is my favorite of the pasta cuts and I just could not get enough!!! But I had to hold myself back so I wouldn't eat ALL of hubs dish!! We absolutely Love this little Gem on W Adams in Temple. It's unassuming but I Guarantee will knock your socks off!! The staff are wonderful, and your taste buds will be treated to a Real Italian Flavor Adventure!!

While exploring Belton I…read morenoticed this place on Google Maps, and confirmed their hours and location on their Facebook to make sure they were really there and open. We went here on a Sunday in late May (which is really getting to the end of crawfish season) for a late lunch when most other places had already closed for the day, we were the only ones there but saw a couple people get to go orders. They had a large covered area with picnic tables with buckets for the empty crawfish shells. We tried the "combo" (which came with 2 lbs crawfish, shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausage) to get a taste of their flavor. We did ask for no sausage in it and they said they would just sub corn or potatoes for it, but then didn't which was disappointing. However, the flavor and spice was perfect for us; lots of garlic! Lots of BIG ones too! We liked It enough that before we left Belton we went back and got 5 lbs of just crawfish to go to eat at home; unfortunately the 5 pounds we brought home were not as spicy and flavorful as the 1st batch we got; but we still really enjoyed it and it was a great value- the price per pound was less than anywhere else I've been in a while. From the moment you walk in, the service is impeccable, no matter how busy they are. It's a symphony of flavors in every dish, orchestrated by chefs who truly care about their craft. Having dined from coast to coast and even across continents, I can attest that the culinary talent here is exceptional. One common letdown at seafood restaurants is the hesitance to season and enhance flavors, but not here! The chefs are not just cooking; they're passionately crafting dishes that explode with taste. Take the Cajun pasta, for example. At first glance, it seemed like it might be a bit lacking in flavor, but the moment my wife and I took our first bite, it was a flavor explosion that left us both speechless! I'm pretty sure I could enjoy that dish for the rest of my life! The Rainbow Trout was nothing short of perfection, the catfish was divine, and the fried calamari had us coming back for more. My wife and I have even started a fun challenge to see if we can find a single mediocre dish on the menu, but I don't think we'll ever succeed! Hats off to the team at Dead Fish!
