This car wash is absolutely terrible and I strongly suggest you never pay the monthly fee to join because it would be a complete waste of time and money. They close for weeks at a time with a sign up saying closed for maintainance, they could have built a whole new car wash as much as they're closed. The workers are great. read more

This place is inconsistent. Closed during the week during normal work hours no one answers the phone the automatic RFID reader doesn't work so you have to wait on someone to come out and verify your member every time you go there and it's basically impossible to cancel your membership. I no longer find this car wash to be helpful. Every time I go, it's either broken, or it gets broken while I'm vacuuming (and hoping to run it back through to get the dirt off that It missed the first time). The last time I was able to use it (a week and a half ago), I saw one of the employees leave. He didn't come back. lol. I stopped back in the next two days and it was broken. I called customer service and complained. The rep said she would have the district manager call me. That person never did. I go various times of the day and it's always broken. They place the cones in front of the entrance. Today I canceled the membership. The rep said she canceled it and that I'll get a confirmation email today. So far I haven't received it. If it isn't sent in the next 24 hours, I'll place a stop pymt in my card. It's really a shame they can't keep equipment that is working as I liked the car wash. read more

I'd give it a minus stars if possible. Since this company took over the location the prewash area for like getting off bugs etc...is always nasty. They have bits and pieces of sponges. My youngest was in a hurry today and decided to use them one last time for just the car wash and came out with huge circular scratches on the right rear portion of her roof. See pic. Well, if you truly enjoy and appreciate your vehicle like I do, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. My brand new car was less than a month old when I've decided to wash it. I purchase most expensive unlimited wash for $26-ish per month, expecting it to be the "safest". Long story short on my second try, I got multiple circular scratches on the hood. When I showed it to the facility manager, he said that many cars go through the mechanical car wash and no complaints were filed prior. I filled out the accident form and canceled my beautiful membership. It's been about a month since then, no call, or email from these guys. I really like this car wash this is one of the best ones I have found in Gainesville, the staff is really nice and accomodating. the vacuum works well and my car was really clean at the end of it. they also have fairly good prices. my only complaint is i wish that they had a mat cleaner or something like that because it is kind of hard to use the vacuum on my mats read more

I feel deeply sorry for the employees here. The wash damaged my car, I asked how to contact somebody about it. Never raised my voice, never demanded payment, and I'm short and not intimidating. The attendant was astoundingly unhelpful, mumbling phone numbers rapidly, insisting the car was damaged before I went in, after he reviewed the camera he got out a form to fill in but wouldn't tel me what he was going to write on the office section of the form, claimed the car was too old and they would deny a claim, touching my car without permission, said he didn't "have to" provide his last name... and the whole ten minutes this young man was shaking. I felt so bad for him. I was just confused and trying to figure out how to proceed, but this fella was scared. What sort of boss has the staff that frightened of him that they would be that incredibly rude and stonewalling when I am just asking for a manager or owner phone number? I can't even imagine how miserable that poor guy must be to work there and have to try to protect his boss. Oh and my car is still not clean, so the equipment is great for damage but awful for washing. Definitely not worth the $13 I paid, and never, ever going back. read more

Went through the car wash today (11/22/22)....windshield was wet after going through the drying at the end of the wash....soap still running down the back of the car...in the vacuum area vacuum on one side of my car was broken....prewash tubs were full of dirty water. In my review in January I talked about a brush not working. 8 months later same brush is still not working and another one is broke also. Vacuum's are better and people are really nice. We have a dual car membership and use it 3-5 times a week. I paying full price and not getting a complete service. I feel bad for the people working there. read more

I was refused service after being told that my car was too dirty to go through their wash. They told me that I would have to take my vehicle home rinse it off and then come back. The guy even had the spray wand in his hand in front of the wash where I asked if I might be able to pull off somewhere else and rinse off with that but was told that wasn't OK either. My car had some mud on it but it's a 2015 Subaru Outback with no lift so it's not like I had went through anything that left a layer caked on by any means. If you can't wash my car because it's too dirty, then you're not a very good car wash, no? read more

I'm actually giving this place a 3.5. What I liked about Frank's Car Wash was the easy automated system to select the type of service you want and the self service pay. Made the process quick and smooth. They offer several packages to choose from ranging from a basic wash ($5) to a rainbow wash special ($25). The website elaborates on what each package covers. I had already cleaned the interior of my car and just needed a good exterior wash, so I opted for the basic wash. It had been AGES since my car had a good washing so in all fairness to Frank's car wash, they had a lot to scrub off. Still, I was disappointed that after the wash several spots on my car had not been removed and will need to be hand scrubbed by me for my car to look completely clean. On the other hand my car does look better and for a fast $5 automatic car wash I can't expect the moon. So that's why the 3.5 rating. If you want a thorough wash, I'd go with one of their more extensive packages and shell out a bit more cash. I also will say that for the speed factor, Frank's car wash offers a good deal. read more

I went to Frank's Car Wash on Platt Springs Rd today to vacuum out my car. I was asked by an attendant to leave since I did not get an exterior car wash. I said there is a large sign overhead - FREE VACUUM!! She said the vacuum is not free on weekends. I politely told the attendant that they lost a patron. I normally take my cars there every 3 weeks for a car wash. I came home & checked their website. The weekend vacuum policy is not posted anywhere. If it's not free all the time, don't advertise it. This is the worse Frank's in Columbia area. Every time I come their is an issue. Vacuumed barely work and the wash never fully clean any of my garage kept vehicles. If you can't wash a barely dirty car this awful place will not clean a filthy vehicle. I use this location because it is close to home but 4 straight bad wash experiences is enough. I went to Frank's car wash today. After going through the wash my car was still streaked and dirty. Hardly any of the back of the van was clean. I am overall disappointed. I ask for them to run me through again and they said that there is a "no exception policy" for a $3 re-wash After spending $20 on their wash I decided it was not worth another $3 just to be disappointed again. Was told that my Subaru had too much dirt on the outside to go through the wash. The guy said I needed to go home, rinse off the car and then come back to go through the wash. There was no line, the guy had a hose in his hand, and I asked if I could pull to the side to rinse off the front where the dirt really was the most since i had already paid, and he said no. I've used Frank's for many years to clean my various Corporate cars. They rarely get that dirty but their automated wash system FAILED today. My low ranking is because rather than making sure they deliver a quality service the attendant at the Clemson Road location said he would NOT rewash without charging me again. *Note: this is an "Express" car wash only, there are no detailing or full waxing services here. Basically, this location has vacuums and a drive through car wash. If you want the full detail service, waxing, shampooing of carpets, Armor all interior, etc. you will need to visit another location. Having said that, it looked like a very clean and nice facility with an attendant. I didn't personally use this location because I was interested in a full interior shampooing & exterior waxing, and I made the mistake of showing up to this location because their corporate website isn't particularly helpful about informing customers which sites are "Express" and which are full service. read more

Awful car wash, save your money and go elsewhere. For $14 you'd expect the car wash to actually get basic levels of highway dirt off of your car. This one doesn't. When I finished the car wash, I got out of my car to inspect the job and found that it had basically missed my entire hood, and it clearly hadn't applied the foam or wax that it advertised. There was dirt residue left on several large areas of my car and water droplets were not beading at all. I notified an attendant; the same guy who had been talking on his cell phone as he carelessly sprayed maybe 1 ounce of water on my windshield before I entered the car wash. He came over to my car, ran his fingers over my hood and came up with dirty hands, and goes "how long has it been since your last car wash?" I told him I'd had it washed at this same car wash a few weeks back. He told me that I can't expect a car wash to get dirt off of a car and that if I wanted another wash I'd have to pay for it. I drive a midsize city SUV and do not take it off road. This was simply basic dirt and salt kicked up off of the highway by other vehicles. I also pointed out that clearly no wax had been applied. I asked the attendant to either provide the service I'd already paid for or give me a refund. He pointed to the "no exceptions" sign and walked off, back to his cell phone conversation. Worst customer service I've ever received on top of worst car wash I've ever received. Bottom line: do not waste your money at this dump. Worthless wash, worthless employees. You'd be better off flushing your money down the toilet. Note: This is for the location at Clemson & Farrow. They don't even list it on Yelp, probably for this reason. read more

We got the $14 wash. A "prep" spray was applied to the windshield and side windows by workers prior to entering the automated wash. Unfortunately, it was only done on the driver's side. The process in the wash seemed to be pretty substantial, but when we exited we still had bug guts (or bird poop -- I didn't inspect that closely) on the windshield! Not a $14 value. I get that much as our local $6 wash. read more
