BEWARE:
I'll start with the positive. The work looks fantastic. But after 5 months, of dealing with them and 52 days of it being in their possession, it should be. My daughter was rear-ended on Sept 19, 2023. After a few weeks of dealing with the at faults insurance, they gave the all clear to get it repaired. So I reached out to University Collision and sent them the claim paperwork as well as photos of the damage. We take the car in to them in October and they tell me the estimated time frame is a 15-day repair. That's perfect with me. She can use my car to make it by since I work from home. 13 days go by they call and ask me if I've ever had the car repaired there before. I tell them no, I haven't they said weird all the parts we have are for front-end damage, but your damage is on the rear.
This tells me they never looked at the car up until that point, so much for a 15-day repair.
They asked me to reach out to the at fault's insurance. A few more days go by, we go pick up the car because it is drivable, and they tell us it will be a few weeks before they get the new parts.
OK, it happens. You just roll with it.
All of November goes by, I call and check in multiple time, if they bother to return my call at all, there is some reason why they don't have parts. Into December. Finally, the week of Christmas, I spoke to them, and they told me the insurance check and parts will be on Jan 1st. Once they arrive, they will call to schedule.
Jan 5th, no word, so I call them. The lady who answers the phone tells me they have no record of my daughter's car what so ever.
Of course at this point I'm pissed so I tell her I want the owner or manager on the phone right now.
Frank comes to the phone, he tells me their servers were wiped on their computers and I need to send the documents over again. I let him know I didn't send them via email, they were sent via text
to Patrick, of course Patrick has no record. So this time, I emailed the documents to both Frank & Patrick. A woman calls a few hours later and says, "Drop the car off Jan 26th. Again, 15-day repair time. 15 days came and went and there's more damage so we have to extend it, again, and again.
Finally, on March 1st, it's ready. Come get it.
10 mins away from arriving a woman calls and says she can not release it to us unless we have a check from the insurance (You know the check they were supposed to be receiving Jan 1st).
I called and spoke to Patrick and let him know this has gone on long enough and if they did not allow my daughter to get her car today I was going to lose my shit, I've been more than patient at this point. He says if the insurance sends over a document saying they will send a check, he will release it.
I spoke to the insurance lady and had the documents being sent.
My daughter gets there. Patrick lets her know she isn't getting her car. She blows up, as she should. He looks at her and laughs in her face then tells her he doesn't have to give it to her or deal with her and he is going to call her Daddy. He walks out leaving her in the office after telling her the cops were on the way to forcefully remove her.
Her Daddy lives 4 hours away.
My daughter is 20 years old, she owns the car, and it is in HER name. She makes the car and insurance payments.
Her Dad gets on the phone, and Patrick comes out and apologizes for being unprofessional and says he will get it handled. They finally released it to her a few hours later. The experience with this company is comparable to a daytime drama, all smoke and mirrors. read more
