Since my last review was deleted!…read more It saddens me to have to write this post because I've always had a great experience with this company when I lived in the Danville area. They were always polite and efficient, even with a high turnover rate. However, my experience this past weekend was unacceptable. I visited my family and needed an oil change, so naturally, I went to Jiffy as I always do. When I pulled up, the young lady noticed an expired Virginia inspection sticker from when I used to live there. She asked if I needed an inspection, and I told her no, explaining that I'm currently a Georgia resident and have been back in Georgia for about two years. She mentioned that their inspection guy could remove the sticker if I wanted, so I agreed. Once my oil change was done, the technician removed the sticker and asked if my DAL sticker should come off too. I told him no, I needed that one for work. While taking off the inspection sticker, he chipped the tint on my window. They made excuses and didn't take responsibility. I thought about it and then called the store to speak with a manager. He told me he would contact his district manager and get back to me by the end of the day. Of course, no one called back, so I had to follow up. He said his manager needed to talk to the sheriffs about the situation--why, I have no idea, but okay. The next day, I spoke with a manager named Randall, who was polite and genuinely wanted to help. He reached out to Luke Underwood, the district manager, and assured me it would be taken care of. Randall told me that once I got back to Georgia and found a place to repair the tint, they would pay over the phone. He even provided me with Luke's email for follow-up. I emailed Luke on Monday and received no response. By Wednesday, I'd already coordinated with my tint company in Georgia, which agreed to take payment over the phone. Still no reply from Luke, so I called Randall again. Moments later, Luke finally called me. Instead of addressing the issue, he launched into a rant about my tint being "illegal" and claimed they wouldn't pay for it. He dismissed everything and said, "It's denied." I explained that I live in Georgia, where my tint is legal. My current address and vehicle registration are in Georgia--Virginia laws don't apply to me. He argued about my address on their records and insinuated that it was my fault for returning to Virginia for an oil change. Then he said, "Nobody has authorization over me, so that was never told to you," implying that I'm lying about what Randall promised. To say the least, I'm furious. Luke Underwood and this company need to be held accountable

The person who answers the phone Enil or Emil gave me a quote to replace 6 sparks and a tire at 500 and change, the next day said they decided it would now be well over 900. I said don't do the service as my local mechanic can do it far cheaper. They called me back later and said they were going to charge half of the labor anyway. This constitutes my personal opinion only.

Deciding how many stars to give on this updated review was tough…read more Let me start with the people at this location: They are AWESOME. My 2 star deduction is because of the company's "We don't care about the customer" process with their website. Let me explain. I needed to get new tires before a Saturday trip. On Wednesday I went to the Mr. Tire website, selected this location, and chose the tires I needed (Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus). It didn't let me pay for them, but I was able to make an appointment for 8am Friday. My wife and I scheduled a full day of errands in preparation for having the car ready by 10am. On Friday morning, I was at the shop at 8am for my appointment. Austin greeted me with a smile and warm hello. I let him know who I was, and he confirmed my info. Then the news... He would need to order my tires... WHAT?!?! That is when Austin informed me of how the website works. Even though the website knew the tires I wanted and let me make the appointment, the company does not differentiate if tires are in stock or not. He apologized profusely about how the website works. He said he could get the tires that same day by 2pm. However, that meant our entire day of running errands with shot. Our day now consisted of making sure we would be back here in the middle of the afternoon instead of in another town where we needed to be. I can not fathom how the company carries so little about their customers. They should have had the tires in stock at my appointment time or informed me that the tires would only be there at a certain time after I showed up to confirm that I really wanted them. Regardless, the company had no intention of actually keeping the appointment and let me make. As promised, austin had the tires there at 2pm and they were on quickly. They put my car on the alignment machine, but it wasn't needed, so they didn't charge for an alignment. I love and appreciate that honesty. I have mixed feelings about returning because of the terrible company policies. Austin and the other employees were great. But Mr. Tire as a company sucks.

WARNING: I would strongly caution anyone against getting service done at Smith-Davis Tire Pro Shop…read moreif you value your safety and the safety of others on the road. Last month, I paid hundreds of dollars to have my brakes, brake pads, and alignment serviced there. Shortly after, I noticed a faint thumping sound coming from the driver-side wheel well, and my car was still pulling to the right. Since I happened to be in another area, I took my vehicle to a different automotive shop for a second opinion. What they found was alarming. My brake pads had apparently been installed incorrectly, clips and pins were missing, and one of the brake pads had already broken in half after only ONE MONTH. This is not just poor workmanship -- it's a serious safety issue that could have caused a major accident. When I contacted the manager, instead of showing concern for my safety, he seemed more upset that I had the vehicle inspected elsewhere rather than bringing it back to them. He told me that, based on the pictures I provided, the pads were "still attached," and seemed completely unconcerned that a brand-new brake pad had split in half after only a month. After paying good money for critical maintenance like brakes, customers should at the very least expect their vehicle to be safe to drive. I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General regarding this location. Please be careful and always get a second opinion if something feels wrong with your vehicle after service.
