However, that might have gone well for me but not for others. Life is so strange. I'll explain. After being a raging maniac for about a year, I wanted to even things out with the universe so I visited a local old age home. I got to know four of the elderly women (platonically) and they enjoyed my company so I went back again. This time, we played Ring Around The Rosie outside because I wanted them to get some sun and thought it would bring them back to their youth. It went well until one of them had a heart attack. So, that wasn't good. At least they didn't all fall down. Anyway, these are the life experiences I ponder while sitting at Valvoline. As far as this Valvoline goes, they do a good job. My boyfriend and I took his car to get an oil change and tire rotation. The service was fast, but the staff were incredibly avoidant, unprofessional, and rude. For example, after we paid, they just walked off and didn't confirm that we were done. They also didn't hand us back our keys. Valvoline is known for the professionalism and kindness in their staff, this place is not practicing that. Additionally, they made zero eye contact with us the entire time we were there. Upon leaving the place, we happened to glance at his receipt before throwing it away. We noticed they marked down that he had a "severe oil leak" in the car. We were freaking out because they didn't mention it. Surely, a mechanic would notify their customer if their vehicle had a major oil leak. We drove all the way back and asked them what they meant by this, considering they let us drive off the property without notifying us. The mechanics looked at us like we were crazy for driving all the way back. They replied with "Uhh... yeah. There's a pretty bad leak along the whole bottom of the car," and no sense of urgency or elaboration. It didn't seem like they knew anything about cars. That was a major safety hazard. I have never in my life been to an auto/mechanic place that didn't notify customers about serious issues, like a major oil leak, before letting customers drive off the property. Additionally, if my boyfriend knew it was leaking, he would've gotten it fixed before getting an oil change. Beware of this place. I will never trust them to work on my car, or anyone else's, ever again. The Northlake Valvoline is incredibly professional. The staff there are awesome. We'll be going to that one from now on. It's worth the extra five minute drive to avoid this place!

I visited this store twice to get an oil change on my previous car. So I decided to return to get an oil change for my new car. My worst mistake. To be clear, my car was not leaking oil until I brought it here. I stay up to date with all my car repairs. I brought my car in for an oil change on May 30th. A few days later I noticed an oil spill in my driveway. So I took it in on June 2nd to get it looked at. I was told, "It was our fault, we did not clean up everything, and I had a small valve cover gasket leak." I thought okay, let me go ahead and get that fixed. After driving 5 hours to another state, I once again noticed an oil leak under my car. I took it to another location on June 9th, who immediately called this location to figure out what had happened. The technician there told me the filter was installed improperly. I then drove home and still noticed my car was leaking. Tired of the back and forth, I took it to the dealership. They informed me that I needed a new oil filter housing due to the damage caused by the initial filter being improperly installed. Of course, I needed to be reimbursed, so I created a claim with customer care on June 10 for reimbursement for a driveway cleaning and the dealership bill. It's been almost two months and no one has reached out to me regarding the claim. I've spoken to countless customer care reps and upper management has not reached out. Except for the assistant store manager who said he would give me a callback. He did not. Management says they call but I have no voicemail or anything. They didn't call. They tell you anything to get you off the phone. Regarding the repair they only mentioned what was on the receipt, about all repairs having to go through Valvoline, meaning they couldn't care less. I even spoke to the store manager, who said the same thing. Honestly, who has the time to go back and forth, especially after I took my car there again to get it looked at a second time. Why would I take it there again, for you to tell me you fixed it and it will not be fixed? Please if you want to save money, a $30 oil change is not worth spending hundreds of dollars out of pocket later. Do yourself a favor and visit another location. Management is friendly until you have a problem. Don't be fooled by their friendly staff. They don't care about your car or your wallet. Do your research and find another location that will provide you with the care you deserve. I learned my lesson.

The "Big Guy" at the counter said my head gasket was blown and that I needed a new engine. He said he'd research a new engine and get back to me. Never a word from them again. Today is 3/13/2026. I live in the mountains and drive this car daily. I've probably put 75K miles since then. It passes inspections and I confirmed that no new engine was ever needed. This could have been a 10K mistake had I taken the guy at his word. I don't expect perfection , but I do expect professionalism. ALWAYS get a second opinion if it's something major with those guys.
