Bait and switch... at check-in was quoted $99.99 for full synthetic. At checkout was told that only 5 quarts of oil are included. The additional 2 quarts of oil that my car required brought the total with tax after a $15 coupon to $155. Shame on you. read more

They are complete con artists! They presented two air filters to me as mine, indicating that they needed to be changed. When I said I didn't have time for this work to be done and I wanted those filters back, they said, "oh no. Those are just demonstrator items! What a farce. I would travel 100 miles to find another place to have the work done. When I went to pay, they wanted to charge me more than what they had quoted in the beginning because they said they had to charge labor! An oil change price always includes the oil and labor. I brought both of our vehicles to Grease Monkey in late December 2025 for oil changes and state inspections. Within days of the service, both vehicles developed serious problems. One vehicle had no coolant, and the other had fuel in the oil. These issues occurred immediately after your technicians worked on the vehicles. The timing raises serious concerns about the quality and completeness of the service performed. Based on this experience, I have lost confidence in your service and will not be returning. I would not recommend Grease Monkey to others. read more

I've been an on and off customer of Grease Monkey on Brawley for about 15 years now. I've always felt they were a little more expensive than the regular oil change places (like 25 bucks more than wal-mart, 15 bucks more than Jiffy lube), but still significantly cheaper than the dealership. On the other hand, the service was always pretty good, so I didn't mind paying "mid grade" oil change prices. I guess since the new owner took over they had to start tightening the belt. I understand. Inflation has made costs go up. However, the new prices have jumped the shark. My base price for a Mobil-1 (full synthetic) oil change is now 129.99. I was also charged for 2 extra quarts of oil at SIXTEEN dollars a quart. That made my oil change fee 129.99 + 32 + 5 disposal fee + tax. We were looking at something like 175+ bucks. From a mom and pop oil change shop. The assistant manager was nice enough to give me a 10% discount, which I DID appreciate. The bill ended up coming out to be 160 after taxes, discount and everything. This is not on him. The last time I got a synthetic oil change there it was something like 90 bucks. That was probably 6 months ago. I understand, inflation is high, but it is NOT that high. For a "normal" price of 175 bucks I can go to the dealership to get my oil changed. It might be slightly more than that now, but I'd rather do that. The new owner's greed has lost them a relatively long time customer. I highly advise going elsewhere. read more

Let me start by saying this place is a whole money grab . They Trump charges and tell you things is wrong with your car that are not overcharge you for things to get fixed in your car. I went for a oil change. They charge me $60 to change an air filter by the time they charged everything for my oil change in the air filter. I ended up paying $170 for an oil change for synthetic oil totally overpriced. I would not recommend this place. read more

I went to Grease monkey for a top off of Fluids from a previous oil change. Phil Rogers a great employee found out that a hose was not corrected correctly. He fixed it and looked at my Fluids and told me that the were okay. Phil also said that the wheels were able to be rotated and had them done. Phil always goes above and beyond to meet the needs of the customers. Phil is an great Asset to Grease Monkey. read more

The first time I came here for an oil change it was ridiculously expensive! Way overpriced! Then recently I had to get my inspection done and I was in the shopping center and figured every other car has been the same amount $12...they charged twice as much then an extra $10 because I have tinted windows...not the place to go for getting that passed...really they couldn't have told me when they saw my car?!? The Manager Kelly was very rude to me as a customer. She caused a scene in front of a room full of customers and I was so embarrassed that my anger showed through tears. I can plainly read, but she made it clear that I could not read and was simply unable to comprehend the sign that advertised their prices. I was expecting a bill of 99.99 plus tax and had a 15.00 coupon. So I was extremely surprised when my bill came to 192.00 for a full synthetic oil change. But because they add on an oil plug (which didn't need to be changed) a shop charge that was undisclosed, and then an extra 6 quarts of synthetic oil into my vehicle it adds up quickly. They did not take the time to explain that my bill was going to be $100 higher than they stated!! So buyer beware. I have been a customer here for 3 years. I warn you that the price will not be what they state. And if you try to get help from a manager you could end up being berated like I was. read more

My wife went in for an oil change, they took off a part of the quick disconnect which was missing a nut that you can only get from a Jeep dealership! Long story short they left the part off and didn't put it back, because lack of experience messing with something besides the oil change! the explorer needed a spendy drain and fill procedure that I don't really understand but that's why it's here and not in my driveway. I came here on a recommendation to get my transmission serviced because I have no idea when it was done last. pulled up and left my truckster with them while I went and got some dinner. they never called about irregularities or weirdness so 45 minutes later I'm back exchanging a large pile of cash for fluid and labor and then I'm on my way... if anything bad happens this won't be the last sentence in my review ;-) read more

I had to get my car inspected for my tags and needed it done the day of. Went to 3 different shops but none could get me in. Ended up at Grease Monkey and they had me in and out with my inspection done in 20 mins. Was able to go back and get my tags same day. Highly recommend if you need something on the spot quick. My wife and I have been getting our oil changed and inspections done here for years. Carl, the previous owner, is a veteran and the service was always excellent and the prices were comparable to other good facilities. Recently, I went in to have my oil changed. The guy who met me at my truck asked if I wanted full synthetic. I said, no, just use what you have used in the past. I wasn't aware that there was a new owner. I had a discount coupon and when I went to pay my bill, the man told me that I owed $125! I said, what? He said they were under new management and the prices had gone up. I told him, I only pay about $70 so it is that big of a rate hike?? He told me it was full synthetic. I told him that I didn't ask for full synthetic, but it was already in my truck and there was nothing I could do. I reluctantly paid. When I got in my truck and started driving home, I noticed the sticker said 5,000 miles to next oil change. I called the store and asked to speak with a manager. I told him everything that happened and that I was really aggravated. He said, "Oh, they just put that sticker on there for people who forget as a reminder... you can get up to 10,000 miles on the oil change and that I could check their site for discounts. I told him that my wife and I would not be coming back for any services on our vehicle in the future. This is not the same Grease Monkey as when Carl had it. The prices are much higher and the customer service is not what it was. We will research another place and service our vehicles there. I do not recommend this business. read more

This was a great place to come and get my oil changed. The guys that run it were really nice and kind, and the prices were fair. They didn't do any unnecessary work but did advise me on things that were overdue or needing to be done. The place is clean including the bathrooms and all in all was generally child friendly which as a mom I appreciate. It takes about 20 minutes to do an oil change and I only had one car in front of me. Huge bonus they even vacuumed my car out, although they did accidentally scrape a chunk of clay across my tan carpet; the same thing could've happened to me and I am appreciative that they vacuumed the rest of the car out as there were cookies and crumbs galore. read more

I have been going to grease monkey for many years. My recent visit for an oil&filter change for my Diesel truck resulted in a price of $222, which was an increase of $98 over my last visit, three months prior. They explained that the price was due to inflation and they couldn't control it. I had already called the Ford dealer and they could have done the oil&filter on Monday (with an appt) for $124 which was the same price I paid in Dec2021 at GM. I will be taking all my vehicles to other oil changers or dealer from now on instead of grease monkey. DONE with GM!! read more

I've taken my car to Grease Monkey for quite a few years due to convenience which I've had good service but earlier this year I had to take my car in a certified Honda shop to have my timing belt replaced which they changed the oil this time. In May I took my car to Grease to have the oil changed which again good service but yesterday I had take my car back to the certified Honda shop to have another issue addressed which they would go ahead and change the oil due to the repair. The mechanic mentioned that the Honda oil filter was on my car so wondering if I'd had the oil changed since I was there last earlier this year which I told him yes I'd had it changed in May. Due to high mileage I change the oil every 3k on this car. The sticker is still in my windshield where I had it changed and also have the paperwork. I called Grease Monkey to ask what brand filters they use which was told 'Napa' so when I had the oil changed in May they didn't change the oil filter! Not good! You take these measures to extend the life of your car! read more
