I have an older Dodge Pickup truck I use for plowing snow in the winter. I bought it used. A mechanic friend suggested I replace tires and recommened at "LT" tire as it would last longer. These tires can be inflated to 70 lbs approximately. I came to the store and they made a few suggestions. I did choose the cheapest LT tire they had: what else for a 20 year old truck that's only driven about 4,000 miles/year. When I came to pick it up after the four tires were installed, I was told they couldn't inflate the tires to the full 70 lbs pressure. They said the wheels weren't rated for that. My question: WHY PUT TIRES ON A TRUCK IF THEY CAN'T BE PROPERLY INFLATED? I didn't know about the wheels - bought it used and the tires were on it. But - they made a sale and that's all they were concerned about. My tires are now wearing a lot faster than if I had gotten other tires. Second instance of deceit: I have a motorhome that requires six tires - duelies in the back. The tires on it had a lot of tread left (only 25,000 miles) but as it sat a lot before I bought it used, the tires had rotted - the sidewalls were cracked. So: I had them put on six new tires. I asked them to take the best tire off the vehicle and put it on a wheel for a spare. When I came to pick it up, I noticed there was no sidewall cracking on the two rear tires that were on the inside - which makes sense - no sunlight got to them. One of these became my spare. I guess they sold the other one. QUESTION: WHEN THEY WENT TO PUT THE TIRES ON, WHY DIDN'T THEY LEAVE THE TWO INSIDE TIRES FROM THE REAR ON THE MOTORHOME, AND SAVE ME $300??? In each case, they had my phone number and could have called me to discuss. But they were too interested in simply making a sale. It also bothers me a lot that they say they are a Christian based business. Just disgusting. Will never go there again for any reason whatsoever. As I've told these stories to others, I'm getting the same kind of feedback. Apparently, Farmers in the area really are irritated with them. Oh well.............live and learn.

I literally could have drove to the store, bought the oil and filter, drove home, and did it myself in a shorter time than it took these sloths to do it. Afterwords, everything seems to work fine, so they get a second star for that, but I've never had job where I would get away with moving so slow. I went to go buy and get a new car battery installed. The woman who was at the Auto Center counter seemed to be in a bad mood. So I quickly gave her the battery I wanted to buy and install, my information and my keys and she told me she'll call me back over through the intercom when they were done. So I walked around Walmart waiting for them to call me over. Luckily I wasn't in any rush to be anywhere because I walked around Walmart for 2 hours just waiting to get called over by the Auto Car Center. I'm not really a car enthusiast but I know putting in a new car battery shouldn't take 2 hours. So after 2 hours of walking around Walmart I decided to go back over to the Auto Center and there was a different person at the counter and I asked him if my car was ready and it was. So I paid the man at the counter and left. I know it was busy since there was only my car and some else's car parked in the Auto Car Center parking lot when I got there and there wasn't any other cars being worked on.

I have never been to a Take 5 before, so it's possible this is common at all of these establishments, but I have never been so spoken down to by people who have changed my oil. I may be a woman, but I'm not an idiot. The mechanics stated things that have no validity behind them (I did my research after returning home from the oil change) in an attempt to sell me the more expensive versions of things. I'm glad I stood my ground and didn't give into any of their sales pitches either as replacing commonly-checked parts in oil changes are easy to change yourself (which I have). Their selling point is that they offer warranties - which are only good for a month. That's not worth an extra minimum of $20 per part they're replacing. Will not be returning and would not recommend.
