I'm really excited to have found out about Managed Meals. I've thought about signing up for a…read moreprogram like this for a long time, I've struggled with my eating since I was very young. Anyway, a coworker was bringing his little tupperware in every day and I finally asked him what they were. He said the company was "Managed Meals," although I found out later he was wrong about the name and actually gets his meals from a competitor. Luckily, I looked up Managed Meals instead and got hooked up with this company. I'm only on my first week of meals. I've had 4 so far (I only opted for lunch and dinner.) I'm on the portioned meal plan with 350 calorie lunches and dinners. Yesterday for lunch I had teriyaki chicken with stir fry vegetables. The sauce was awesome! Honestly it tasted like something I'd get at a restaurant. Dinner was meatballs and spaghetti squash with red sauce. The meatballs were very well seasoned as was the red sauce, and who doesn't live spaghetti squash?! Today for lunch I had BBQ chicken and spinach. The spinach was AWESOME. I think my menu said creamed spinach, but whatever they put in it was fabulous! Better than any spinach I've had made for me or I've been able to make myself. Just ate my dinner tonight, it was beef stew. I'm not the biggest stew fan, but it was good and I enjoyed it nonetheless. All the meals this week looked great (except the gumbo, I'm a little scared for the gumbo) My main concern is that I'm going to still be hungry. The portions are small, but only because I PICKED SMALL PORTIONS. So it's going to take some getting used to on my end. Also I think it's important to note that Jessica has been awesome and prompt at returning any questions I have sent to her via email. And I believe she's the owner of the company, so that's pretty cool. You go girl! I'm rating this company 5 Stars. My rating is because of the price, convenience, and the taste of the food. My meals are made for me, and all for $55 a week. It helps me to not overeat OR go out to eat on the weekdays. Compared to the competitors in the area, the price is right and it seems to be literally the exact same type of food and service. Thanks for bringing Managed Meals to Baton Rouge!

Oh my goodness I cannot wait to go back and try everything I had the picadiilo. Amazing!!! The black beans have a delicious flavor, almost smoky. The rice is cooked perfectly. And the sweet plantains are a great pairing. My husband ordered the chicken cordon blue. It came with chickpeas and tostones. All of it was very delicious. The chicken was so flavorful and that crust was great! We ordered the churros for dessert. I will go back, just for this. I needed coffee to go with it but was so focused i didn't even think about it until it was gone Crunchy, but soft, fried perfectly. The filling was perfect. Def order these!!!! It has to be real Cuban bread not French bread pressed like a Cuban. There were only 2 slices of meat- one ham, one pork and one slice of cheese. Barely a taste of pickle or mustard The sandwich was on what appeared to be 6" French bread roll and toasted on a grill instead of a panini press. The fries were thick and on the soggy side. We did get take out but no more than 6 minutes from the restaurant. The food truck had it right. Cuban bread w/generous helping of meat, cheese and pickles and crisp shoestring fries and you could comfortably share a sandwich. Had I known I would have ordered more food but quantity wouldn't have changed quality. Definitely needs work. Another con for me is you can't grab a cold beer sling with your food but we ordered take out so It didn't matter. I realize they are new but they should have realized they had some great expectations to fulfill when they took over the name. Two Cuban sandwiches cost $28 and change. I would have done better at Subway. Still searching for the perfect Cuban in Baton Rouge. If you decide to eat in the dining room there is good parking. It is a family restaurant. On a holiday Monday at lunch it was on the noisy side which is to be expected.

I seem to see a new snowball company pop-up every year. Lucky for them the warmer climates here in Louisiana are 9 months out of the year instead of the opposite. They have become a parking lot, festival, sporting event and/or parade staple. Snowball stands are essential here or else the heat will make you go nuts + it's a lighter alternative to ice cream and a sweeter alternative to ice water. This snowball stand is parked in the Albertson's parking lot on Perkins (at Essen Lane). So, if you're looking for snowballs in this area, come here and get some of this yummy goodness!
