I'm very honest with my reviews, and this place really surprised me. It's a little hole in the wall tucked next to other Mexican spots, but the food was delicious. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I didn't get a chance to try the drinks this time, but they looked amazing. There was a couple there when I arrived, and they told me the drinks were fire, so I'm definitely coming back for that. Overall, I'm really looking forward to coming back again. Stopped by Takito Holic while in the area and tried the birria meal, chips and guacamole, and a steak street taco. My wife had the same, except she went with the chicken taco. Overall, the experience was solid. The consomé had good flavor, definitely one of the highlights, but felt like it was just missing that one extra layer of richness or spice to really push it over the top. Still, enjoyable. The birria meat was super tender, which we appreciated. Only downside? The cheese. There was a lot of it. Not a dealbreaker, and some folks might love that, but I personally would've liked the meat to shine a bit more instead of being smothered. Chips and queso were solid, and the tacos were satisfying. Worse experience ever, I made an order of 7 birria tacos and they gave me regular tacos instead and everything else was missing from the uber driver. Made the request for a refund uber denied it. I call the store to try to explain what happen to me and they wouldn't pick up until 10 min later. I explain the issue to the person who picked up the phone and she asked the person who made my order and she said she remembers making my birria tacos when it's a complete lie. I told them I have prove of the pictures and that I would be posting them. this isn't the first time it has happen from this place. Someone there doesn't know how to read orders properly. I didn't pay 50$ to get something else I didn't want for which it turn out to be cheaper. this place sucks they denied my refund. This place was nice and clean and the theme colors of the place was a great design to make the restaurant really stand out. The service was good and fast and it did not take long to get my food. I ordered the quesa-birria and it was basically a corn tortilla filled with birria meat and cheese. Cilantro, lime and onions came on the side as a topping and it also came with a consume broth-like soup to dip the quesa-birria in. The meat inside was tender and not tough. The corn tortilla was soft in texture and the cheese had the perfect cheese pull. Now the birria as a whole did lack seasoning but that's where the broth soup comes into play. It helps add more flavor to the birria and makes it much more enjoyable. The Mexican rice was okay but lacked salt. This is a place I will definitely visit again because the prices weren't bad either. read more

Very yummy queda-birria. It is basically a quesadilla with shredded marinated in sauces that you dip in consomé, a delicious meaty flavored broth. It's definitely a messy meal and a little greasy, but so flavorful and yummy. My boyfriend got the gringa birria which is basically the same thing but with flour tortillas rather than corn. We were both super impressed. The restaurant is small, but quite a bit of seating. Staff is very friendly and quick. This has the best Quesa-Birrias every I got it without the cheese, but they were so tender and amazing. Whatever is in the dripping sauce it is the perfect amount of spicy and makes the Birrias so much better and juicy. The horchata was by far the best I have had. It tasted like cinnamon ice coffee. I would highly recommend this place and come here again! Cute 'lil taco joint in a strip mall. No parking problems. Very clean inside. Seems to be a family operation, sweet young lady at the front counter, couple of middle agers in back cooking. Order at counter and food is bussed to the table when ready. I chose the steak burrito, it was ready in a few minutes, and was reliably good. I tried the salsa verde and the salsa rojo, hard to decide which one I preferred. Both were zingy, the green more so than the red. I have been coming here for almost year and NEVER had a problem up until Tuesday November 19, my family & I ordered tacos and they added onions to all 12 of our tacos. This was already extremely inconvenient because I had to work when we had already arrived home to check. I spoke to a woman and let them know I could not return the same day because I had to work; no one said it had to be within 24 hours. Which is not only perplexing but suspicious because why would I have to return food to them within 24 hours ? Were they going to use the same meat that had mix the onions with to " make" new tacos? At this point I spoke to the blonde haired lady named Jenny or Jennifer that did not want to help but instead wanted to go back and forth with me. Stating she would have returned the food if it was her. My daughter has an onion allergy at that and voiced this with them and yet my money was basically stolen due to a mistake THEY did, not me. The Jenny lady also tried to say our receipt doesn't say no onions and I had to show her illiterate self how their onion system works, if I select cilantro and no onions like we've been doing the past year, why would it even state that? Not sure why they would accept food that customers have already received because when taking your food and handling test, you are not supposed to do this. Please don't waste your time coming here if you expect them to resolve an issue when THEY make mistakes. Their staff would rather go back and forth with you, rather than trying to fix it. I've had better steak nachos, but overall, tasty. The birria bowl was HUGE! They should offer a birria CUP. I got through maybe half of it. Down side, they forgot to pack condiments like onion and cilantro for my to-go order. Customer service: they were super busy on a Sunday night. Thankfully we ordered via DoorDash pickup. They forgot to pack condiments and hot sauce, why I docked points. The front desk person was too busy on the phone taking orders to fully help us when we got there. I was in the city craving some birria tacos. My cousin recommended this place because it's local to her and very close to the house. I put in the order over the phone and it got delivered in a decent time. Food was still hot and sooo good. I don't eat beans so I had them substitute for rice. Rice could use some more steaming or water cause it wasn't fully cooked. But the tacos? The tacos? ON POINT!! Went here around 10 pm on a Tuesday. It was empty so I was kind of worried but the aroma of the meat they were cooking was phenomenal. So I went in for taco Tuesday. I had the birria tacos my friend had two regular steak tacos. The quality of the meat was better than expected but the portion control was kind of stingy. And the margaritas were all syrup and cheap Tequila. However, I would go back but I'll just go for the steak tacos on Tuesday they're only $2.75. read more

Man without a doubt this is the best food i had in my stay in chicago, i could write paragraphs on it. To start it's a small corner restaurant that's a bit hidden but all the locals know about it because it's "the spot", this is my GO-TO spot for chicago, i drove 40 minutes out my way just to have some takito-holic. The staff is phenomenal, seriously they're super friendly give you suggestions and easy to get along with. Bathrooms are clean, tables are clean and everything about this spot is just amazing. The tacos are phenomenal, you can't find a better spot in the city. The alcoholic mangoneado was so smooth you couldn't tell how strong it was until you're spinning! This was amazing though! Ordered the same exact thing in a 3 taco dinner which was more tame and probably something I should be ordering. Rice and beans were ok. Their salsas were pretty good. We had a two taco and three taco steak dinner. Both were delicious with skirt steak meat, not ground steak. Young man at the counter was professional and put fresh avocado instead of mashed avocado, five star service. I have heard so much about quesa birria tacos and I had my first 3 at this location. They provide the tacos and consume and all the condiments are individually packaged which I liked. The price was about 16 dollars and some change (including tax) The food itself was good, once I added all the condiments the flavors were really good ,but the star of the meal is the green sauce, I could put that sauce on anything. Outstanding! We had them cater two back-to-back events. Not only did they show up on time, they also helped set up (it's not a large organization, so they could have left the order as is). The food was fantastic. People in different areas came out due to the aroma. After trying the food, they asked for their address. I could not recommend them enough. The meat was flavorful, but not greasy. My only gripe is that the portion was pretty small for the price. There's one thats essentially fast food, its like going to McDonalds; its not bad but it will never compare to a burger made at home on the grill with all the fresh fixings, and then there are ones like Takito-holic, which are more or less what your Mexican mom would make you on the weekend in the kitchen all day. This is REAL Mexican food and its good. Red Pozole is something most places don't get right, they often are low in flavor, but Takito-Holic gives you an on-par with home cooked Pozole stew and the presentation is gorgeous too. My only complain is they need oregano on the side to be 100% authentic. There are also excellent quesobirria which is sort of the Mexican version of a Au Ju plate. I also love that they have keto-friendly low-carb dishes too (but I did not try them) and excellent Michaeladas too. read more

I like the fact you can use aQR code to order from your table. You can order traditional style with a person at the register. Place was clean, orderly and service was standard. Food came up in a timely fashion with a few orders ahead of us. I tried the chicken quesadillito with rice and beans. The chicken was grilled and flavorful. The tortilla was homemade style and was nice and puffy. It was not greasy. I'd absolutely get that again. My wife tried a steak taco and a birria taco. The meat on both was flavorful and tender. The chips were solid but under salted. The red salsa was Smokey and had a hint of heat. I loved it. The verde was creamy but needed a little more seasonings. First time here and I don't like how I have to order at the counter then sit down. Why does it ask for a tip if there's no server? Next, 3 tacos with rice for $18 is kind of outrageous. The quesabirrua was super good but there's no way I can pay that again. Lastly, there's no chips and salsa to eat while you wait. It's $4 if you want that which is hilarious because a package of tortillas are like 59 cents. I wish then the best but I won't go back and I feel like I got screwed tipping them. I'm paying $5 a taco and tipped $6 thinkjng I'd get a server. They don't even give you water. Good food. Awful awful pricing and service. read more
