Tacos - Asada, Pollo, and Pastor
    Dany B.

Do yourself a favor and order their Pastor and Asada tacos with Cilantro and onion, and ask for some fresh lime wedges on the side. AMAZING flavor, cooked to order in a great family friendly atmosphere. We also tried the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. Yummy. I would shy away from tamales, because they were dry. We will definitely come back here.

Your new go-to restaurant for Tacos and Sopes!  Please check out my review

Go JUST for the tacos and sopes! I first found out about this little hole in the wall restaurant when I was driving around Oak Lawn looking better tasting Mexican food (La Playita on 87th and Pulaski had disappointed me for the last time). From the outside, it looks like another typical mediocre Taqueria, but I thought what the hell, give it a chance. Their tacos and sopes are delicious!! The tortillas are made from scratch, and the meat is perfectly seasoned and juicy. Their tacos do not need to be topped with anything other than cilantro and onion. The sopes are fried until crispy on the bottom and then topped with your choice of toppings. When you add the salsa and bite in, you get a crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside mouthful that has you begging for more. Their gorditas, tortas, and quesadillas are great as well. The rest of their food is mediocre and doesn't blow your mind. I would not drive out of my way to eat their rice, beans, guac and chips, or any of their dinner plates. The milkshakes are a hit or miss depending on who makes it and the flavored waters are just okay. The restaurant displays a neon sign that says "Tamales" on their window, and I thought that might be their specialty, but nope! If you want good tamales, go to 26th and Pulaski intersections, and you will find some of the most delicious homemade FRESH tamales in Chicago, but NOT here. This restaurant's tamales are small, with minimal filling, and tasteless. A PERFECT EXPERIENCE AT EL TACO SABROSO #2: Order 1 taco of your choice, 1 gordita to share, and definitely one of their delicious sopes to hog for yourself. Then order a Sangria Mexican soda to compliment your delicious, mouth watering food. Go at night, and you may be able to get a booth in front of a TV showing entertaining Mexican soap operas. Perfect chill night.

Chicken and pork tacos , and delicious guacamole for $3.50!

I stumbled upon this little taqueria on my way home from Midway airport, when I had a severe craving for tacos and guac. This place hit the spot - a delicious, cheap and fast meal that you can't beat! I had two tacos - chicken and pork - they were very flavorful and the meat was good quality (not at all fatty). The tacos were perfectly simple served with cilantro and onions OR lettuce and tomatoes, and double corn tortillas. They were only $2.10 each! The guacamole was also delicious and only $3.50 for a very generous serving. They also serve you complimentary chips and 3 types of salsa. Last but not least, the staff at this place was super friendly and kind - I will definitely be back anytime I drive to midway around lunch or dinner time!

El taco sabroso has got some good things going for them. First off they are reasonable in their prices. Not only that but they do not seem to skimp out because of their low prices. I wasn't expecting to get such a large container of rice for only 1.60! Next, as a tamale addict I had to of course order one. I got the pork, and was not super impressed by the flavor. However what I did like was that it seemed pretty fresh, no dried out edges here! The chicken and pastor tacos were pretty flavorful though. Finally they gave us 2 red sauces, 1 green, and a pico de gallo without even asking. There have been some other places in the area I have had to practically beg for hot sauce so that was nice. Overall I enjoyed their food and I shall return!

Prices are double what shows online, so just be aware when ordering. Food is good, just overpriced.

That was the most horrible food that I ever ate. The prices are outrageous and I woke up with a bad stomach ache and runs. Don't eat here

Has burrito dinner it was good. But I think it could have been better if they had seared the tortillas on both sides.

My dad got the barbocoa burrito and I got the Mar y Tierra-skirt steak and shrimp wrapped in bacon. It's funny bc I ordered well done steak and it looked burnt but it wasn't! It was really tasty as was the shrimp. A little too much salt and they forgot my tortillas. The guacamole and salsa were really really good as were the chips. They have a to go counter so it made picking up the order quick and easy. People seemed to be enjoying themselves while dining. Overall, would reccomend and would come again.

We arrived around 4 pm and there was about a 25 minute wait. It is cozy so there were people waiting outside. The decor is more modern than traditional. They have a bar and TVs. Staff are warm and friendly and our server was Dulce. It was a busy day yet she would periodically check in to see how we were doing. We ordered the table side guacamole. It was made fresh at our table and hubby added a little more salt to it. We were also served a small bowl of salsa. The chips are warm and fresh. Hubby ordered the combo fajitas and a strawberry margarita. I ordered the steak enchiladas rojas and a pina colada. Everything was seasoned well and we enjoyed our meals. Kudos to the bartender for making great drinks!

I loved that we were given some recommendations on favorite dishes. -The vegan calamari (made with cocunut meat) was perfect: breaded just right and crisp. -The Fresca (watermelon & cayenne ) was perfect. 3.5 stars for: Our main entrees lacked seasoning. I was really surprised by this. Both of our dishes were extremely light on any seasoning. We both decided to take the rest home to add some garlic/ chiles/ sea salt ... maybe? However the presentation was appealing, food tasted really fresh and cooked right. We spent approx $160... that's including the 20 % tip and tax.
