    Salmon Skin Roll
    Nadchen A.

We were seated very quickly at the hibachi side and they took our orders promptly. We shared our side with another family but for some reason the wait time to get a hibachi chef was longer than expected. They served our sushi orders quickly though. I got the Salmon Skin roll and it was delicious. Since it was Monday we also got the roll half off. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and it was good. The hibachi chef and workers were so friendly and nice. It took a while for us to get a chef though and for him to start cooking our food so by the time I got my Teriyaki Chicken and fried rice at the end, I wasn't that hungry anymore. Fried Rice was okay but saltier than I would like. The meal also comes with soup. Overall, it was a 3.5/5 for me. Wait time was a little long for food for hibachi, but loved the service and sushi. Prices are very reasonable for families and the portion sizes given.

    rice and chicken

I called in a to-go order and the volcano rolls was not good at all and I also got rice and chicken but there was WAYYYY more rice than chicken! ALSO no silverware

Great location, great service, and always good food. Sushi bar is tasty and fresh while the grill chefs put on quite the show. Food's so good even the kids love it! Sometimes it gets crowded on days they do their roll specials (Sunday and Monday) so get there early or plan ahead!

A discount of 10% off showed up on my phone... as is shown on the website for the restaurant. Yay me!! I was not expecting it so, awesome sauce... When I asked the server about it, he and the manager said, "this does not apply for you, sorry. This is only for military." I see nothing that says, "military" on the discount. I love my military and am ex-Navy but do not carry my DD214 around in my pocket... so, boo-yah on me. The sushi chef and the food = amazing. The service was only so-so if that. We had to ask the server 3 times for a set of chopsticks and a 2nd cup for the saki. The 1st bottle of saki was finished with my wife and I taking turns in the same cup before finally getting them.

Haven't rated my fav restaurant in a while, but I heard about a rating they received which was unfounded!!! I have been eating here for years. I love their food. Other restaurants in the area have had foreign objects in my food! Mostly without apology. I have never ever experienced that at Tako Yaki! The staff is super friendly. Food is always the same...great!!! They give you a lot, which of course, my husband loves. Best sweet tea in town. They never let my cup run dry. They bring extra napkins without being asked. The manager explained what happened with the review when we asked. Ridiculous circumstances! He is great. The most hard working conscientious restaurant manager I have ever met. I am gluten intolerant and they make me a special plain meal every time, but they also have gluten free soy sauce available! We eat here twice per week. Just completely remodeled and very clean inside. You have to try this place!!! If you are avoiding due to the news, ignore those sensationalists, ridiculous! They are just trying to make a story someone cares about! Why would trust a reporter these days? Find out for yourself. Sorry I thought about taking the pics after we had eaten some! Hahaha I forgot I just had sushi here last Sunday. It was great! I even mistakenly ordered some that had gluten and Joon, the manager, came by and said, "Don't eat that it might have wheat in the mock crab!" He knows I can't eat wheat. He checked the ingredients and sure enough it had wheat in it! I didn't know and he remade it for me!!! They are the best!

Dinning room if you order from kitchen verses eating at hibachi.
    Gary N.

Been here several times over the years and always enjoyed the food. My latest visit was no different. We were able to get seated as soon as we arrive, which was great as they were many waiting on hibachi seating. We chose the dinning room. Our drink order came quickly and we placed our order. All is well, the salad and soup came quick. Then the first of three birthday, drum pounding parade started. A loud banging on pots and drums so loud you can't here or talk in the place. Too much over kill. I'm sure some with kids will enjoy it but way to much to march in and bang your way back to the kitchen. Service started ok but went down hill after the food arrive. Had to wait for drink refills and a long time to every get our check. We were in no hurry so I just sat back to see how long before they came around. Over 10 minutes after finishing. Even with all of that, I am sure I will be back, just not a frequent visitor.

Came in and sat at a hibachi grill. Ordered even got sushi. Finished eating sushi, salad and soup. They cleared the table and we were expecting the chef to come out. 5 minutes later they decide to sit 3 more people. Waited on them to get their soup and salad. They finished eating. Again expecting chef. Been sitting at the table over 30 minutes and they decide to sit 3 more people. I tell the hostess that we have been here for 30 minutes and ask if we are really going to have to wait another 15 minutes for them to order before the chef comes out? She says yes. I will never be back and we usually come once a month. I am so upset at how they could careless about their customers time. I have written this whole post, going on 50 minutes of waiting on a chef and still nothing.

    44. California Roll

I used to go here a lot and really enjoyed it, but I never tried their sushi. I ordered take out and got a spicy California roll and a regular California roll. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The sushi is simply just not good. The spicy California roll had red hot sauce instead of wasabi or spicy mayo. Each piece was made with soggy wet tasteless Nori. I also found a small bug on the top of the hot sauce On one of my rolls, very clearly there if anyone had taken a second to check it (it is in the photo on the lid of the container). I tried two pieces, and ended up spitting both out as the flavor was just not present. For five dollars, I guess this is what you get, but I definitely expected more from a Japanese style restaurant. This was utterly disappointing.

I stopped here a few weeks ago with my co-driver before getting back on the road. I had been…read morecraving sushi for a while and found Sake Roll & Grill on Google Maps. To start with the positive, the sushi itself was actually solid for an all-you-can-eat spot. AYCE sushi can sometimes be hit or miss, but the rolls and sashimi here were better quality than I expected. We arrived around 8:30 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant closes at 10 PM and the place was still fairly busy with customers. We were greeted kindly by a host with pink hair and seated near the TV across from the sushi station. Service overall was friendly. Where the experience became frustrating was how early the sushi bar shut down. By around 9 PM, every sushi chef had already broken down their stations. I'm talking fully cleaned cases, wiped counters, and the sushi bar basically closed. There were around five to seven sushi chefs working, so it was surprising to see the entire sushi station shut down while customers were still dining. At the very least it would make sense to keep one or two sushi chefs working closer to closing time, or let customers know something like "last call for sushi is at 8:45." We weren't told anything when we walked in. I've spent about 17 years working in kitchens and culinary, and in most restaurants if something is about to be 86'd or is nearing last call, the staff communicates that clearly to the guests. To be fair, the sushi I did receive was good. What I ordered: Miso soup Two crab salads Avocado salad Snapper sashimi Tuna sashimi Tako sashimi Spicy California roll White Tiger roll Spicy tuna roll Crabmeat roll Cucumber roll And yes, I finished everything. My co-driver was honestly surprised I was going to eat all that, but I don't leave food behind. I even had room for another roll or two. The sashimi and rolls were good quality overall. A few pricing things were a little confusing though. Sashimi costs an extra fifty cents per piece while nigiri does not, even though the only difference is the rice. There is also an eighteen percent charge for wasted food plus fifty cents per uneaten piece. I understand discouraging waste, but the combination of those charges felt a bit excessive. The base AYCE price was around twenty-two to twenty-three dollars, which is fair. However the additional charges can stack up quickly. The miso soup was unfortunately the weakest part of the meal. It tasted extremely watered down, almost like plain broth. My total ended up being around thirty-three dollars after tax, which isn't terrible, but the early sushi bar shutdown and lack of communication made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall the sushi quality was solid and I'd still come back again. Just give customers a heads up about last call for sushi and this place would easily be a home run.

Most sushi restaurants aim for quiet elegance. Sake Roll &…read moreGrill went with giant sports bar television and hoped the sushi would keep up. This place is a little off the beaten path, but the reviews looked promising, so we decided a small sushi road trip was in order. I walked in expecting the usual sushi restaurant vibe. Instead I was greeted by a television so large it could probably pick up signals from space. When I say massive, I mean it takes up an entire wall. Nothing pairs with delicate nigiri quite like a television the size of a drive-in movie screen. The all you can eat menu is a little limited when it comes to rolls, which was a bit surprising. But the nigiri selection was actually pretty strong and, more importantly, surprisingly fresh. Plenty of options and the fish held up well over multiple rounds. The cooked items were also plentiful, which helps if someone in your group is not fully committed to the raw fish lifestyle. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The service, however, moved at a pace that felt very... deliberate. Very, very slow. Slow enough that you start wondering if the rice is being strategically deployed to fill you up before your next order arrives. Still, the food was good and the experience enjoyable enough to land at a slightly above average four stars. Tip: come with extra time and patience. Settle in, watch a good sporting event on that enormous TV, and pack away some pretty solid sushi. Four stars. A little off the beaten path, a little slow on the service, but good sushi and possibly the biggest TV you will ever see in a sushi restaurant.
