i've never left a negative review before , so here goes . I visited the Talbots in Alpharetta recently and had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've ever encountered with who i believe is the store manager - Lisa . She was extremely condescending from the moment I walked in. Instead of being helpful or welcoming, her tone and attitude made me feel talked down to and completely unwelcome when i asked her to clarify something for me and she responded with " i'm trying to save you money, honey" and tried to hard sell me . she even made a face like i was a complete idiot . She is all about the store making money instead of customer service and this is not the first time that I've encountered her rudeness. I've shopped at Talbots for years and have always appreciated the brand's customer service, but this location was a stark contrast . I hope corporate takes a closer look at the management here, because this experience was unacceptable and does read more

I had a similar experience with Lisa at this Talbots store in April. However, I have been a customer at this store since it opened and I have rated my experience as 5 star because in my long history, Lisa is clearly the exception. I have never met a salesperson at any Talbots store more rude, arrogant and inappropriate. Each and every other salesperson has been incredibly helpful, knowledgable and kind. Following my encounter with Lisa, I received a survey from Talbots asking about my experience. I asked for someone to call me for details. I have not yet heard from anyone, but I remain confident that Lisa is the exception. read more

Tried to return a top ordered online and delivered without receipt. Top is in the original packaging and with tags intact. Lady running the store was incredibly rude since I didn't have a receipt. If I didn't receive one, and the bar code for the item is on both the tag and the packaging, then why the attitude? When questioned, I asked what I'm supposed to do if I never received a formal receipt? Her rude answer? "Well, I don't know but it will take awhile to process". Not. Ok. Talbots remains THE. WORST. This is the first I've ordered from them since I worked for the chain in college. 30 years and NOTHING has changed. This brand needs to go. read more

I like the clothes, but they're horribly overpriced. Regardless, I really needed something for a special occasion, so decided to suck it up and buy a nice dress or outfit. No one greeted me as I walked in, and not one of the sales people ever said a word to me, even tho I walked around for a good half hour looking at merchandise. It had to obvious that I was seriously shopping, but absolutely no help from anyone. This was on a weekday afternoon, not a busy weekend. You'd think that a company on the verge of insolvency just a year ago would be more interested in actually selling stuff. read more

Absolute worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was taking something back for my mom who has had health issues and I have a 1 year old so not the easiest to get by to return stuff. One lady told me that even though it was only a few days over the 60 days that they could override it and return it. Then another lady came up and said absolutely not. We will not do that and you're out of luck. They have overridden it before as my mom doesn't have a Talbots nearby and drives an hour to one. But this time absolutely not. read more

convenient location Mary, the lead manager or whomever was in charge that day was rude, impatient, ignored what I was asking, bossy to her staff and at some point shhhed me, that's right she shhhed me as I was speaking to her, not once bit twice m. Who does that! She did, it was very rude and VERY unprofessional. I contained myself as she completed my simple transaction that she had a problem completing. Whatever her problem was I bided her a good day and decided I would never spend my hard earned money at this location again!!!!!!!! Yes, I'm under 30 and I love Talbots and I'm not afraid to shout it out. Every store I've visited, this one included, has had fantastic customer service. This location in particular went above and beyond to help me find something I was looking for and suggest substitutions when it wasn't in their stock. Usually they do have a good selection in their stores, including Petites which is my personal arena. They have definitely stepped up their game in terms of updated styles. Another reason I love Talbots is the fit. I tried on their (petite) jeans, and it was the first time I didn't want to cry in frustration AND they were very flattering on me. I have a few other non-Talbots pairs of jeans that are comfortable, but they aren't nearly as flattering. I've ordered a number of items from their website, and every single one has fit great. They often have sales, and if you sign up for their card you get even more. I don't have the card, but I am part of their rewards program which is nice. It's not phenomenal, but it helps. I like the wishlist feature on the website which helps me to curate what I'm interesting in buying in the future, decided between items, and easily see when each one might be on sale. Another excellent feature is that you can search to see if the item you're interested is in a store near you, and you can even reserve it before you have a chance to head over. read more

I am a long time Talbots customer. Love their clothing and shoes as they are classics with an edge. The most impressive thing about this Talbots is their level of customer service. Alma, the new manager of the Alpharetta store is awesome as are the rest of the associates I have worked with. Alma goes above and beyond in terms of helping you find what you need in the size that you need - even if it requires calling additional stores - and never having an edge to her manner indicating frustration with those she is serving. She also is great as to remembering her conversations with those with whom she interacts. A shout out to Alma, a lady who represents the customer service Talbots is famous for! read more

I am a long-time customer of Talbots. They have high-quality clothes that are timeless classics. As a teacher, these items are invaluable to me and well worth the price. Also, with the recent change in fashion directors, Talbots also now carries more fashion-forward items which are still appropriate for a professional woman. This is one of the largest Atlanta locations and has Misses, Woman, Woman Petite, and Petite sizes. read more

Tried to return or exchange something here today and they wouldn't allow it bc they couldn't find my husband in their system (he bought them for me). Really? The items still had tags on them (accidentally threw the receipt away). Why can't stores just have good customer service with managers that understand this simple concept? Both of the ladies never smiled and seemed to not be enjoying their work either. Maybe bc they make people miserable all day! read more

Love the merchandise and selections; will always to continue to shop at Talbots. However, I have steered away from the NorthPoint location of late; am TIRED of being asked about opening a Talbots credit card. I know the advantage of doing so with regard to "the points" but just don't want another card. The past 2 times I made a purchase the sales ladies were relentless in the efforts to get me to open a credit card. I felt like it was almost to the point of harassment. I certainly don t appreciate their approach and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Will be shopping at a different location from now on (and/or) shopping online. read more
