They have 4 cold plunges with various temps. There was hair floating in the least cold (most popular). The showers had a leak so water was everywhere but they were working on it. The sauna is lovely and very large. People are advised not to speak loudly but that does not stop folks! The outside space is wonderful! There are plenty of seatings, games, and fire pits. It's a fun place but was disappointed to find out that passes expire.

The two kombucha flavours on tap (raspberry sage and blackberry lavender) were great. Outdoor patio area with fire was a nice reprieve.

I had never experienced a yellow sand room before either, so that was something new for me. One thing I especially liked was the temperature of the heated rooms. They were hot enough that I definitely worked up a sweat, but not unbearably hot like some other spas I've visited. I could actually stay in them and enjoy the experience. I also had the Korean body treatment that included a salt scrub, oil massage, cucumber face mask and shampoo. It was very good and completely different from a typical spa treatment. One of my favourite parts was having buckets of very warm water poured over me--it felt wonderful. My only real complaint was the treatment table. Since there wasn't an opening for your face like on a regular massage table, I had to keep my neck turned to the side while lying face down, which I found uncomfortable. I realize this is a traditional Korean spa treatment, so it may simply be part of the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would have liked a little more explanation during the treatment about what was being used, especially the different oils, but the person doing my treatment was very busy and there really wasn't time to ask. I guess this is the Korean way. I don't know but wanted the authentic experience. One other thing is that I they have you pay upfront. I paid, but I did not leave a tip. I told them I would do that at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed JJ Spa. If you're looking for luxury and fancy surroundings, this probably isn't the place. But if you want a good Korean spa experience with lots of different rooms and treatments at a reasonable price, I think it offers excellent value.

The gentlemen at the front desk were very kind and informative as it was our first time there. We were led downstairs to our lockers and then settled in for the foot massage. Susan and Angel were great and the pressure was perfect. Afterwards, we were able to use Sauna A. It was a huge space for just the two of us! Appreciated the showers and hot sauna. There was no cash register and it was a handwritten receipt. I didn't realize the spa is inside a residential home when I made the booking. There is no proper parking area and you will have to park by the side of the busy highway between Davis Bay and Sechelt. Linda does attach pictures of where to park in the email. There is also no sign of where the spa is except for the small sign hanging outside the garage door with the house number. At first I thought it is inside the garage but after walking around it, it didn't seem possible. I finally figured out I had to walk down the steps and through a walkway into a garden. I was still filled with trepidation that I could be trespassing and entering a wrong place. At the house, there was another small sign pointing to where the spa was. It was by the side of the house with a separate entry. The treatment room was lovely. It contained two beds so you could have a couple session. The room looked out into the ocean which was beautiful. Unfortunately since you would be lying face down most of the time, you don't really get to enjoy it. The massage was excellent! Linda was really good and I felt the knots disappeared from my body and I was really relaxed at the end of the treatment. Now that I know where to park and how to get into the spa, i will definitely book another session with Linda when I'm in the area again.

Plagued by back problems I decided to call and give it a try and take a half a day off work. The place is small and there's two tables next to each other so the space is definitely cozy. The aroma of the essential oils hits you fast when you walk in, if you are sensitive to smells you might have trouble here. I did not, it was very relaxing although I felt I was huffing potpourri. For lack of a better description there's a short man and a tall man. I received the short man. He discusses your needs and props your body up on blocks and heat pads and starts. They do not use long strokes like masseuse do, they use more of a direct pressure which I expected. This carried on for a while and I could hear the fellow next to me get up and leave as his session was done. Next thing you know, I am feeling large hands on me, quite different from the short mans hands. I had no problem with this but I was shocked to have been swapped out by therapists - I was trying not to laugh as my senses were trying to determine who the heck was touching me. Tall man has bigger hands and stronger pressure but short man has smaller hands that get into nooks and crannies so I appreciated the swap. Soon enough it was time to roll over and again- they swapped back! Then when I opened my eyes a female was massaging my head and placing lavender on my eyes. Ha what a riot. I had a team working on me. This places uses heat pads and ice all throughout the process and you definitely feel paid attention to and they are not trying to pump you out the door like some of those body work places. You will have to pay for parking if you drive and arrive early if you don't know the Village because you will have a hard time finding it. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is they do not take credit card, the are not licensed and covered under most plans and their hours are very unaccommodating.
