I didn't mind a higher price knowing it helped sustain the Alaskan economy. Mrs. E. found plenty of clever uses of metal, wood, glass and fabric. That is to say she managed to drop $150 in the shop. This is the only place in town that I could find themed guitar picks. Understand, I don't play them, I arrange and secure them (usually in a flower pattern) to hard cardboard and make small shadow boxes. Today, all the picks featured pictures and the words "Ketchikan, Alaska". A great conversation piece for my wall. The ladies that run the shop are truly wonderful souls and we loved helping them out. 08/23

The work is original, certified and not knock offs like you find in the vast majority of the stores throughout Alaska. The owner Mike, who is extremely friendly and informative will explain how this work is certified and what to look for when you are at other stores. The Level of detail on the sculptures and quality of the work has to be seen to be appreciated. Mike, who has been in Alaska for 50 years and in business for 30 years will give you the history of his business and how he travels to various remote parts of Alaska to obtain these works of art and foster the long term relationships with the native artisans to stock his shop. If you settle on a piece of art he will ship it for you back to the lower 48 providing a convenient way of getting it home, especially the larger pieces of work.

They have a massive selection of merchandise and the deals are fantastic. We stopped in and picked up a few shirts and keepsakes.. and saved $15 thanks to their bundle promotions. They gave us a free souvenir bag since we spent over $25. Everything is super organized with friendly staff. Highly recommend stopping here to get your Alaska gear and keepsakes.

This is a small store that sells the same regular stuff I've seen at other places in Ketchikan with some added beachy items. Maiden Voyage is owned by a young lady who goes to yard sales, estate sales and the like in Ketchikan and the neighboring areas and gets items to sell at her store. The pleasant clerk that chatted with us explained this. So many strange and interesting things in this store. From gorgeous oil paintings of the harbor to vintage jewelry to tin signs to a skull necklace to rocking chairs to chest of drawers to the American flag art made with shells to books to plates, this shop sells you Ketchikan. Many nautically themed things are for sale here like shells, glass floats, ship paintings, earrings that look like Mermaid jewelry - no idea what kind of metal but no other way to describe it, see pictures. The items slither out the door onto the porch so check out the full area.
