I love this tattoo shop with my whole heart. It truly is a hidden gem in Stockton. The environment is clean and quiet. All the artists are friendly and go above and beyond. The artwork is amazing and it's really great pricing especially compared to some current competitors. Greg is my go to, he is well rounded as an artist and I've gotten fine line and more traditional styles from him and he can really do it all. He has also told me to come back if i ever need touch ups on the tattoo which to me was great customer service and showed he really cares about his art. I rate this place 5/5 always. read more

BEST PLACE EVER for tattoos! This place is unique, incredible, sanitized, and full of good vibes. This review is long over due for Tall Tales specifically for Jessie, but all the artists are great. Jessie is beyond talented and his passion shows through his work. He is detailed oriented and is upfront by telling me what would look good. I need guidance because I don't have that artistic eye. Recently, I wanted a tattoo of my dog's paw, a hibiscus flower, and a butterfly. Jessie made it all tie in together and made it better than I imagined. I'm so grateful for him for putting up with me (nervous farts - TMI being honest) and being patient. Getting a tattoo does hurt and he made the experience as comfortable as possible. Jessie is so skilled that he knocked out the tattoo quickly. read more

I don't know why I'm giving 3 stars considering the customer service was terrible. Went there with a friend hoping to be able to get a tattoo on a walk in. I called 3-4 times before we showed up. It says don't DM them so we just went in. We were told to wait a few min and they'd let us know if they'd be able to help us or not. We waited probably 30 minutes. We had someone come out and ask what we wanted, said he'd be back out in about 5 minutes and he never came back out. I've heard so many great things about this place but unfortunately we didn't get to experience them. I understand being busy and had they said they couldn't tattoo us that day we would've understood but to be left standing there waiting for that long was ridiculous. We should've left way sooner than we did. read more

If you're looking to get pierced, I recommend going somewhere else. I was looking to trade my jewelry for a new one, the piercer pulled out a ring that clearly was a gauge too big. I mention this to him and he disregards what I say and tells me it's the same size. Then proceeds to shove the jewelry into my ear. It was uncomfortable and a little painful, but I thought that it might be because it's a new piece. He closed the piercing and sent me on my way. I spent weeks making sure that I was cleaning the area properly, but my ear was in so much pain, until I asked my boyfriend to look at it for me. That's when he told me that the piercer shoved the ring in my ear but never pulled it through so the part that was supposed to connect was not fully closed AND my ear was trying to heal around it. I had to shove the ring through and only realized when it was fully pushed through when I heard a popping noise from my ear. Again this was because the gauge size was too big. This did not need to happen, unfortunately, the piercer 1. Did not listen when I knew the gauge size was too big. 2. Did not correct himself when he realized that it was not pushing through. 3. Sent me on my way with my piercing never fully completed, causing unnecessary pain and a longer healing process. So again I highly recommend a different location to get pierced. Sorry. read more

The place is filled with art but still has a minimalistic vibe. Staff is friendly, right when I walked in. l got a tattoo from Eric. His line work is amazing! He has a soft hand and knows exactly what he's doing. He also does some amazing flowers pieces!! Sometimes his kids are at the shop, which gives the place a homie vibe. Overall really enjoyed the experience and extremely satisfied with my new tattoo. They also do piercings, and sell jewelry. Walked in just to check on availability for some small wrist pieces (minimalist paper plane and paper boat) and Nik was able to take me that evening, which was a very nice surprise.
