Ugh this is a tough one to write. Well I've gotten 2 tattoos here and I pretty much hate them both. I think they just hire based on friendships not talent. I hate to say it like that and ultimately it's my fault for coming back but in my defense I came when I was 18 the first time and then again recently at 34. Guess I was thinking the time difference the place would be better. I asked for a rose tattoo on my hand and told him specifically I didn't want it dark at all I wanted it light and pretty cause I'm a female. He did it as dark as he could and on top of it told me he was gonna go darker on the wrist and well.. he did. And now I'm stuck spending hella money on trying to lighten it with laser treatment which isn't cheap. Only on the wrist part. Love this little joint. I've been a few times here and I've received good service every time. I've received a couple piercings here, although I'm not sure if they're offering that anymore. I've also had two small tattoos done here, with simple and clean line work. I'm blanking on the name of my tattoo artist, but he was amazing! Really talkative and made me feel comfortable the whole time. All of the artists are great. The pricing is very reasonable as well, especially since I live in the bay part time. I've seen some pricey tattoos, for no real reason, even in the Sacramento area. Shop minimum is $60. So I will definitely be coming back to In 2 Skin for another tattoo soon! read more

I had gotten my nostril pierced here recently and my piercer was very professional! So I decided to get my nipple pierced here as well and I had the same piercer which was great! He was very friendly and didn't make me feel nervous about going topless in front of him. My piercer Biagio (sorry about spelling wasn't sure if it was an i or L lol) was awesome. She told me since she already set things up, she was going to allow me to get it done first. She was fast and efficient. Great placement and I can tell it's going to heal great! To be honest, the place looked a little sketchy since it looked like it was in a house from the outside. But inside, everything looked legit and organized. The workers were really nice and helpful. *REVIEW FOR PIERCINGS ONLY* A couple of friends and I came here one day to get pierced. My friend knew the piercer so we got a discount. I don't want to say how much I got my belly pierced for but it was relatively inexpensive. He had a fair amount of jewelry for my navel piercing and did an alright job. It was pretty clean inside, the piercer was very nice, and the job was quick. PROS: Cheap place to go for some piercings if you just want something quick and cheap. CONS: I feel that this was kind of fishy because he didn't clamp my belly together before piercing it so the piercing came out slightly crooked in my opinion. If you want a really professional job, go somewhere else. If you're down to just get a cheap piercing you don't care too much about, come here. Also, the piercer here recommends "Bactine" for your piercings but if you go anywhere professional, you know the best way to clean your piercings is through salt soaks. I have roughly 10 piercings and I've used both Bactine and Salt soaks and can tell you that using salt soaks really works better than Bactine. The piercings I've used salt soaks with never get infected or irritated. The piercings I use Bactine with always get infected and irritated. Take my advice (from somebody who has a a bunchload of piercings) and take the extra time to soak your piercings in salt solutions. It'll make a world of difference. read more

I absolutely love this place. TATTOO: I originally had a small lower back tattoo that needed to be covered up. I brought in what I wanted (a huge lower back piece) and booked an appointment. The next week when I went in, Dennis (a tattoo artist) had it stenciled and ready to go. He was very friendly, we chatted the whole time (3+ hours) and he even did a follow up appointment to make sure it was healing properly. PIERCING: I brought my sister here for a tongue piercing for her birthday. We ended up getting matching ones and they healed fine. I highly recommend this place and plan on coming back! read more

This is a review for piercings. . . well really more for Mike, since he works here. Mike has done four of my piercings, three while he was at another shop in town and one here. Mike is super friendly and patient, goes over aftercare and what he's doing thoroughly. He even remembered me and the piercings he'd done on me before on each of my subsequent visits, which was really cool. The shop itself is clean and tidy. Any time I see they have a piercing special and Mike's there, I'll haul my ass down there in a heartbeat. EDIT: I've had to change my review, now that I'm more experienced and have had a few more done here. Mike did my first ever piercing at another shop, and at the time he was great and walked me through every step. Every single piercing I've gotten since then at In 2 Skin, I've had to stop the piercer just to get them to explain what's going on. I don't feel like I should have to make you stop what you're doing just to tell me what gauge jewelry you're going to put in, or to put in my two cents about the placement. Twice they forgot to give me the run down on aftercare. My nipple, septum, and navel piercings were fine and were pierced by Mike (the last two at In 2 Skin). Mike also did two of my genital piercings at this shop, one of which I didn't get to check the placement on and came out very crooked. The other rejected (and I've since had other piercers tell me I had the wrong anatomy for it in the first place and Mike used the wrong jewelry, so it didn't surprise them). I had another piercer (didn't catch his name) do my two nostril piercings. He let me check the placement of the markers on my nose, but when he did the piercing one of them was completely off from the mark, making them very lopsided. I had to take them out. When I was younger, I asked someone there the maximum number of piercings I could get at once and the answer was "as many as you can pay for." I told another piercer this and they rolled their eyes and explained the many ways that was a shitty answer. Look. Stockton isn't the best place to get your mods done, something I didn't learn until I was older and traveled a bit more. I would definitely come here for a single nostril piercing or a cartilage piercing or something simple and hard to fuck up. But if you're thinking about a trickier piercing maybe just wait until you can get out of town. read more

What they lack in size, they make up for in cleanliness and hospitality -- everything here screams sterile and professional! I've purchased tattoos quite a few times, all done by the extremely talented Dan Zapata. Fair prices, great work, all around a good experience. I've even had jewelry put in here (unsure of who did it, she's the only lady at the shop and she was very kind)! Reason for 4 stars being I got my septum pierced, not by aforementioned lady, and it's extremely crooked and a bit low. He might've been an apprentice considering I had never seen him @ the shop before. Other than that isolated experience, I love this place and the people who run it! I've been at In 2 Skin twice for piercings and my last visit, I was hoping to get a double snug piercing then later connect it with one hoop once it heals. I told my piercer and showed him a picture of what I wanted and said, "So I'm assuming I'm gonna have to get two separate bar piercings, wait for them heal, and then join them with a hoop" and he says, "Oh no I can put in a hoop for you right now". Well unfortunately, that FAILED MISERABLY. He spent easily 10-15 minutes on my ear, trying to connect them by taking them out and re-starting from different sides mulitple times. It was easily the most painful experience of my life! After the process, he tells me "Yeah you know what you're probably better off just having two right now then wait for it to heal". Which was what I said in the beginning but I didn't listen because of course I thought, well he's a piercer so he should know what he's talking about. During the healing process, my ear was in so much pain and looked absolutely horrific. My friends and I all said that it looked as if he had pierced one of the snugs too far out because the cartilage looked way too thin and you were able to see my piercing through the skin. I wait a week and went to Body Jewelz at the mall in Modesto and had a piercer look at my ear and she was in shock. Her response was, "Oh my gosh you poor thing! First of all, the top piercing is pierced way too far out and the bottom piercing is pierced way too far in. He wouldn't even have been able to connect them with the angle that he left it at. Every piercer knows you do not pierce someone with a hoop at first". I even went to a piercing shop in Tracy called Blue Moon and they also said that you always start off with a bar then wait for it to heal if you want a hoop. So I had the girl at Modesto remove my piercings for me and now my ear looks like it got beat up. I am never recommending In 2 Skin to any of my friends. I never write yelp reviews but this experience was so horrible that I felt the need to write one. I uploaded three pictures on my profile of what my ear looked like right after I got it pierced that same day, what it looked like during the healing process, and what it now looks like when I got them removed. YOU look at them and you be the judge because seriously, this is ridiculous. Such a god damn waste of my money and now I have to wait for my ear to heal, then get them pierced again. read more

I heard about this place through a friend who had gotten her tattoo done by Dan. She sent me his number and I texted him about two tattoos: one for me and one for another friend. He was really good with responding and his prices were incredible! My friend and I went in a few days after I had initially texted him since he told me he would be free at 7. Upon going in, I didn't know that we needed to make appointments at the shop, which closed at 8. Dan was working on another person at 7, but he stayed and tattooed my friend and I after hours. He was super chill, easy to talk to, and works fast. The script took less than 30 mins and the crescent moon took around 10 mins. For the script he charged $80 and for the moon he charged $40. He also gave my friend a discount since she's in the military, so hers was only $60. We'll definitely be back if/when we want more. read more

I got my second tattoo on my wrist 4 years ago here, i drove back and forth with my bestfriend cursing every wrong turn we made. Back then their sign was soooooo HARD to SEE. Maybe its that dumb TREE blocking it. The place was really small people who are claustrophobic should not go here(haha) The employers were nice. I paid $60 and my artist was Rooster who coincedently was friends with the first tattoo artist who did my first tattoo in Tracy. He messed up a couple times on the "Rough Draft" where they print out the design n then stick it on your skin so the outline is showing before they actually tattoo you. It happened like 6 times before he finally got it perfectly on but we didnt complain cause we werent in a hurry. He was a cool guy to conversate with.
