We walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 3-3:15pm. We knew they closed at 4 BUT we weren't prepared to feel very rushed and that we were a bother to them. We asked the sales gal several questions and she didn't know the answers to a lot of questions. We asked to see things in person and get in person visuals of what we had in mind and instead of helping us she kept having us look on their computer screen. When I shop for a product at a specialty store like bathrooms, lighting, floors, etc I like to see the actual product and she wouldn't even give us suggestions to comparable products that were in the store. Then we asked if they could come out to our home 3 miles north of Quincy and she said she wasn't sure and apparently none of the other sales gals there knew so she took our phone number and promised to call us 2 days later on Monday to let us know. She never called us. Very poor customer service all the way around. The store itself is so disorganized that the gal didn't know what was there so I guess thats why she kept telling me to look at the computer screen. The disorganization looked like everything was just thrown around. There was no good flow through the store and it caused me a lot of anxiety just being in the store. We were about to drop thousands of dollars there since we are doing a whole house lighting reno and upgrading. I would not recommend this store to anyone and I would put my review on Google but businesses can tamper with those reviews. The whole experience inspired us to look at Home Depot and we found exactly what Tally Lighting had in stores and online that we liked for a fraction of the cost and now we will be able to spend our left over money we budgeted on another project so that I thank Tally Lighting for. read more

This used to be an amazing store. We used it for all our properties on the coast. It is called Tallahassee Lighting and Decor now so I'm not sure if ownership changed. We have a 14,000 foot house to furnish with lights. We were informed today by a woman claiming to be the owner that she would not do business with us because we were not wearing masks, even though my husband and I have bona fide medical exemptions. In FL there is no mandate, but we were shooed and shamed anyway. Too bad-we always like to support the local businesses. Guess Amazon wins again. These businesses need to wise up -especially when there are folks that want to support them. read more

Quite a large selection in a nice, spacious showroom. But everything is so lovely it is hard to choose... The staff is helpful without being overbearing. And they are great about showing you the catalogues from which you can special order. Which we did. But then we kept changing our minds after we made an order -- I mean, once I called them from the car not 30 seconds after we had left at closing time! They were so very gracious about they whole thing. And we did this not once but three times! They were so accommodating everytime. (I think there was a restocking fee for one of the items, but as we were the ones being impulsive and undecided, I can't complain. Besides, we had a Groupon coupon that basically covered the cost.) Sold me the wrong transformer, couldn't find me in their database, told me my order was complete and it wasn't, and just poor customer service all around. This used to be a great business, but it isn't any more. Prices are exorbitant too--I'll shop online before going there again. read more

I was delighted to find decorative Lithonia fluorescent lighting at Tallahassee Lighting for my kitchen. Saw a similar design at a big box store but the entire fixture was disposable. (Granted the LED lights & 10 year warranty were attractive. But I couldn't justify the $100 cost for something I would throw away when it stopped working.) The product at Tallahassee Lighting was comparable in price. They were helpful and very professional. This fixture also uses LED tubes but will last a lifetime. read more
