If I could give Talon Construction more than five stars, I absolutely would. From the very beginning, the entire team was professional, coordinated, and incredibly knowledgeable. They somehow turned what is typically a very stressful process into a smooth and collaborative one. We interviewed nine contractors before choosing Talon for a full gut renovation of our home. Talon stood out immediately as the most professional and detail-oriented team we met. We first connected with Darren in 2023, and his depth of knowledge was apparent from the beginning. He pointed out practical design considerations and code requirements that other contractors had missed. We went back and forth on the scope for over a year, and he was consistently patient, responsive, and generous with his time. He never rushed us and always made himself available to answer questions. We started construction in August 2025-- The construction crew had an excellent work ethic. They arrived early and worked hard - something even our neighbors commented on. They took pride in their work and paid close attention to details. The workmanship was just excellent. The work site was consistently clean and organized. They did a great job at handling unexpected situations and communicating that to me. Eddie took the time to explain everything thoroughly before moving forward. Even when we made scope changes, they were flexible and incorporated those changes without making it feel stressful or complicated. And probably the thing that impressed me the most was that they ran the whole project with integrity. They uncovered an improperly vented dryer which was a fire hazard and promptly brought it up to code. There were other moments like this throughout the project- too many to fully capture here - that consistently reinforced how much they value doing things the right way. I have to mention Eddie who was incredible throughout the entire process. He was calm, responsive and communicated clearly. He seriously made the entire project enjoyable. They were fair and transparent when it came to pricing and change orders. But more than anything, what I appreciated the most was their integrity, professionalism and genuinely caring about doing a good job. Everyone- Ed, Paul, Darren, Eddie and the construction crew were top notch. We honestly couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. A few issues. The receptionist was rude. She said we don't do decks alone but since yours includes a screened in porch we will. Her attitude and the way she spoke to me was nasty. She transferred me to a voicemail box. I left a message and its been two weeks without a return call. I even emailed them to let them know and how to reach me to be ignored again. Very unprofessional company and I am so thankful I didn't waste more of my time or money on them. I guess two decks and a screened in porch wasnt enough value to them. read more

Talon recently completed a sunroom and master bathroom remodeling project for our house, and the job they did was nothing less than sensational, starting with Brian and Jenny who worked closely with us to develop a design that brought to life what we hoped to accomplish. Matt supervised the build with exceptional attention to detail, and his team of Dylan and Luis were meticulous in carrying out the daily construction work - including a bump-out at the front of the house . The build required key decisions at various points, and Matt consulted with us each step of the way. The result - our new sunroom and bathroom turned out more beautiful than we had imagined, and because of excellent attention to detail the final cost came in slightly under original estimate. In 2018, Talon remodeled our kitchen and main floor living space. In 2021, Talon also remodeled our master bathroom, bedroom and one of our home offices. The bathroom was completely gutted to enable a more modern design that better fit our wants and needs. Most notably we removed the jacuzzi tub so we could separate our dual sinks, giving both my wife and I more vanity space and storage. Second, we wanted to convert to a walk-in shower (no doors, curtains, etc.). Master bedroom changes included new flooring, trim, paint and tray ceiling design, and a redesign of one of our wall closets and office entrance to convert to a barn door and hidden pocket door design. As with our first Talon project, the team was top-notch. We worked with some of the same team members (i.e. Paul and Brian in sales and design, Ed in billing and vendor coordination, Jake with paint, and all the same subcontractors) but also some new members. Eddie as our job superintendent, Steve as our construction and job lead and many more ensured our project ran as smooth as any major remodel can run. In the three years since our last project, there's no doubt Talon has maintained the same culture with its employees and subcontractors: take pride in your workmanship, deliver the highest quality outcome possible and always make sure the customer is happy. When we had questions or ideas, the team was quick to offer advice about what's feasible as well as "the art of possible" to include explaining why some of our ideas wouldn't make sense in the long run. Was considering this company for a very important renovation to an existing family home about a year ago. While we needed some time to figure things out, we decided to call them a year later interested in moving forward with additional consultation. I was just told by whoever the receptionist is that were a "dead lead" because pricing was an issue. I'm amazed at how unprofessional the call was handled and just wanted this company to know that your message is clear. No one ever has said there was an issue with pricing. Talon is THE company to go to. We had a major project: basically our whole house was redesigned in the interior including the kitchen, bathrooms, floors etc. We had walls knocked down and windows replaced. From the very start, the folks at Talon helped with the design. The result is better than what we expected. Our project lasted a few months. With some contractors (many), they will disappear for a while and nothing gets done. Not with Talon - we had people working on our project continuously. Our project supervisor, Hutch, was great. Everyone at Talon was super eager to please and make sure that what was done was to our satisfaction. Frankly, I don't think other contractors could handle and coordinate like Talon can. Their pricing was reasonable but simply put - you pay for a professional and you got a professional. Highly recommend. read more

I had basement remodeled recently. The project lasted about three months and was a very positive experience from start to finish. The team was very knowledgable and helpful throughout the process. Most importantly the construction did not affect my day to day very much. The final results were amazing. I now spend most of my time in my new basement. Talon built a 2-story addition (bathrooms, laundry room, closet, pantry) on to our house in 2021 and it is FABULOUS! We had Talon Construction build a fireplace surround, mantle, hearth, cabinets and built-in bookshelves in our basement. It was a small job for them but they never treated it that way. All we did was send them some ideas of what we wanted and said, "Do that". And they delivered. The guys were professional, efficient, clean and prompt. They were also patient with us as we made some last minute changes and alterations. I'd highly recommend Talon for any job you need, big or small. read more

When I bought a new house in Thurmont this year, it had an ugly combined powder room-laundry room that I knew I needed to divide and renovate. Talon did a great job on designing a separation of the powder room from the laundry room, and on all phases of planning and construction. They turned the worn tile floor into a continuation of the hardwood floors in the rest of my house. No seam or transition is visible - I didn't know this was possible! All the new fixtures are great, and I particularly like the sliding barn door Talon included as part of the renovation. I felt that I got a very good value for what I paid for the project. read more
