Hmm...this place has a lot of great reviews, but my friend and I thought it seemed to lack direction. There were a bunch of frilly random tacky decorations that were bright pink and more for a kid's room than any normal home. And this was in the "adult" room. One whole room was for kids, but the "adult" room was also filled with kids shoes and such. I'm not sure who the audience is here besides mothers shopping for kids clothes/games? read more

This is my go to place for baby shower gifts. You are bound to find a unique gift that the new mom and fellow shower attendees love! The prices are fairly reasonable and they wrap up the gift nice with tissue paper, which saves on wrapping costs. They also offer a good variety of scarves, shoes, lotions, nail polishes, cards, jewelry. It is a fun place just to check out and peruse through all of their treasures. read more

My girlfriend and I wandered into this boutique because her best friend is pregnant. I didn't know what to expect but I was surprised to find a wonderful local little shop. They have the cutest toys and stuffed animals for children. You can also find unique fun party favors for themed parties. The only reason I don't give this place five stars is because with the charm comes a hefty price. There's a pretty big markup throughout the store, but you're paying for quality of goods and quality of experience. read more

This is my go-to spot for kids birthday presents. They have unique, high-quality books and games. It's not the kind of place to run in and grab a quick gift, however. I most enjoy shopping here when I have time to wander and browse and discover whimsical gifts tucked away in corners of the store. The only thing better than office supply stores are funky neighborhood gift stores. And Talulah Jones is the best of the best. Five stars for the postcards and the children's art supplies--but who's buying those supplies for children when you could get them for yourself? I love this place. A little treasure trove in Denver. I wanted to purchase a few things that were more handmade than store bought, Something unique and different. This store has what I was looking for. Great if your gifting for a women, child or baby. I went in for man specifically, while they did have a cute little shelf with a few shave items etc. not a whole lot for men. This is a women's store of choice for sure. There are cute little items everywhere, take you time when looking. The ladies at the front were super nice. OK, editing my review because I should've mentioned a few things before saying something negative. This shop has a LOT to look at/buy. Really quirky and kitschy items for all ages - super fun and unique! My only complaint was a while back, I asked for assistance and had the rudest girl "help" me. I give amazing customer service (if I may say so myself) so I was really bummed when this happened. I hope this women was just having a bad day because this shop deserves 5 stars just for the fun items they sell! read more

While I've found the odd stocking stuffer-type gifts in this store I am really not a fan of this local gift store. While it is supposed to be high-end, the store is just messy and lacks any organization. Merchandise is crammed into any available nook and cranny but there is no order to it. Staff doesn't really pay attention to you while you look around the store so it makes it harder to figure out if they carry what you are looking for. Maybe I'm a bit of a minimalist but if the store looked less chaotic it would definitely make for a better shopping experience. read more

This is one of my "go to" places for unique and fun gifts/toys for toddlers and women. I have yet to purchase any of their really cute baby clothes, but I have purchased cute little girl necklaces, bracelets, purses, tutus, etc... They have some awesome gifts. I do however have two gripes. They are rather expensive, which is why I haven't purchased the baby clothes. Cute, unique, yes! But $80 cute? No, not for wearing for only 6 months. And, not many boy items, their specialty is obviously for girls. I think their "markup" is about 15%-20% too high. I came out of their last time thinking, "did I really just spend that much for a fabric mouse?" Second gripe, I wish it were in a bigger space they do have A LOT of merchandise scattered so it is a bit overwhelming. These gripes sound bad, but I really do like this little store. It truly has a great selection of trinkets, you just might walk away with the feeling that you really shouldn't have paid that much, but you keep it anyway. read more

This is the greatest little store! I avoided it for the longest time because I thought it was the kind of boutique that I usually avoid - chuck full of doilies, useless knicknacks, and oversized handbags. Getting caught in the rain one day, I stepped into the store to stay dry and was utterly amazed. It is jam packed with all kinds of quirky, fun gifts. Bathtubs full of rubber duckies, vintage toys, eerie paintings...it is what a gift shop might look like in the world of Harry Potter or Alice in Wonderland. I don't often give the thumbs up to any type of gift shop, but this place is a must see! read more

I have always thought highly of this store in the past, my wife and I have been shopping here since just before my daughter was born in 2010. However, a few weeks ago my wife was Christmas shopping here and did not have a good experience. Nicole had already purchased her items, which included 3 books, she asked to have her book card punched (I think after 10 books you get one free) and the owner who was behind the counter told the clerk to punch her card only twice. When she asked to have it punched three times, since she purchased 3 books, she was given a hard time by both the clerk and owner! She was finally given the third punch, but only after having to argue and made to feel as if she were being difficult!! I'm not sure why the owner of a small store would want to alienate a customer who is obviously a regular, but that is exactly what she did. We will most likely return until the punch card is full and get our free book, but after that never again! read more

Great local gift shop. I love how crowded it is with stuff, and everywhere you turn is something cool. I also like how the kids stuff is in a different room, so I can continue to live my kid-free existence without interference :) but that it's still there for when I need to find a gift for my nieces. A little pricey, but I expect to pay a bit of a premium for cool stuff that you don't see everywhere. read more

Great place to get cards & gifts - I go there to shop for my wife.

I usually love this store, because of all the lovely items they carry. However today I only needed a Mother's Day card and when I went up to the counter, Robin Lohre, the owner had made a remark of how little I was spending. I just find that kind of behavior foolish! What Magic! There is something for everyone here! Every birthday, Every anniverary, Every christmas, I find myself headed to Talulah's for gift And she never fails me. I always find gifts of whimsical, fanciful, delight. And usually, i come away with a little something for myself as well. The staff is alway cheerful and helpful, greeting me like a friend. Robin, the proprietress, is an extension of Jones' fairy fancy - or the other way around. It is hard to tell where she leaves off and the store begins. The rooms of Talulah Jones give us a funny little insight into the rooms of Robin's imagination and we are all the better for it. Come to TJ's and bring a bit of the joy home with you. read more

Megan Mullaly's is fine. It's a cool little space in an old building on 17th Avenue, one of my favorite streets. It has a nice selection of things that would appeal to kids of all ages, though it does feel a little bit like it might be trying too hard. Also watch out for the pricing and return policy. I see Yelp calls this place "pricey," and that is spot on. I picked up a romper there for my newborn nephew without thinking too much about it or looking at the tiny little $60 price tag. I'm not sure what kind of parent can stomach a $60 piece of clothing for a newborn, except for perhaps a celebrity dressing his or her internationally adopted tot. The return policy is also good for only five days and for store credit only. I guess I should have known what I was getting into. In the end, I was able to get a better mix of clothes and toys for the lil nice and nephew. I'd probably go here again, though probably only if I'm in the neighborhood. read more
