I don't know what happening at Optum but they're becoming impossible to deal with. My dermatologist…read moresuddenly became unavailable (won't take Optum anymore)--rather than informing me, they waited until I needed an Rx refill and called the office to get it. Shockingly, if you look up providers on the Optum website, they're still listed which, to my mind, is inexcusable. The next Dr I called was listed as being in an Optum office that's 3 miles from my house. I was curtly informed that that office no longer does dermatology. I was offered one office that was 12 miles from my home and another that was 35 miles from my home. I called the 12 mi facility and they said they couldn't see me without a referral. Well, the referral should have been on file since I've been seeing the other guy for a few years now. At this point I asked to speak with a supervisor. Sorry, they're all in a meeting. I said I'd wait. Fifteen minutes later, the rep informed that they could deliver a message but couldn't wait any longer. In the meantime, I'm out of a medication. Again, inexcusable. It feels very much like the accountants have taken over because their service is no longer patient centric. As much as I like my PCP, I may have to change. Optum has become an obstacle to my good health.

She was lighthearted and really friendly. When we found out that she wasn't going to be our delivery nurse, we were honestly so devastated. Then we were so nervous meeting our delivery doctor. We were scared to get attached to the doctor because there's a strong possibility that we wouldn't get them while I was in labor. I can say with absolute confidence we absolutely love Dr. Averill. She put all my fears and worries to rest. She kept keeping tabs on me seeing how far along I was. My baby was stuck and I got a fever and I had to get an emergency c-section. She was off and she came back to perform my c-section. She didn't have to come back to do my procedure, but she did and that's how dedicated she was. If I have another baby she is for sure going to be my doctor!

He was first assigned to my…read moregrandfather's care during an emergency room visit following a cardiac episode, and he has continued to treat him ever since. Over the past several years, Dr. Samaan's expertise, dedication, and forward-thinking approach have made a remarkable difference in my grandfather's health and quality of life. What stands out most is that Dr. Samaan truly sees the person behind the patient. He takes the time to listen, answer questions, and explain treatment options with patience and compassion. As a physician focused on longevity and cardiovascular health, he stays current on the latest research, medications, and clinical trials, always looking for ways to help his patients live healthier, longer lives. Thanks to his careful management and attention to detail, my grandfather's kidney function has improved significantly over the past three years, something we are deeply grateful for. Dr. Samaan combines exceptional medical knowledge with a down-to-earth personality that immediately puts patients and families at ease. His staff is consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming, and the office is always clean, comfortable, and well-run. We are incredibly thankful for the care Dr. Samaan has provided. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated cardiologist who genuinely cares about his patients' well-being.

Since that time, until a year ago, I never felt quite right or 100%. In October 2023, I had two heart events that put me in Holy Cross Hospital in Los Angeles. My blood pressure was insanely high and I had trouble breathing. Dr. Rodney Samaan was assigned to me as my cardiologist for my stay. He was able to diagnose my symptyms and what medications would help me. Since my release from the hospital, I have been in Dr. Samaan's care. The combination of prescriptions, vitamins and an active health plan, I have felt much better than I ever have. As long as I follow his direction, I am able to do things in my life that I was limited to before. His staff is courteous, professional and compassionate. Dr. Samaan is always reachable, which for someone who has a heart condition like me, is it imperative. I would never trust any other Doctor as much as I trust Dr. Samaan.

This hospital has been extremely supportive towards the family needs, nurses are compassionate in the ICU and staff members are approachable. There are a few entrances to the hospital but after 8pm you enter through the back entrance nearest to the ER side. I've heard nothing but positive experiences being a patient here. I'm glad to have this hospital locally serving the SFV community.
