An outstanding place for lunch! I'm just going to come out and say it - take a road trip and go to Tammy's! Whether it's lunch or dinner I know you will not be disappointed. Step back in time if you will for just a moment, the decorations that adorn the inside as well as the exterior. They were nostalgic and just what you would expect them to be! We were a little early for the lunch hour since we arrived at 10:45. However, we were hungry so we started out with the Fried Green Beans! What a great starter!! The Green Beans were hot, crispy, & tasty. There were lots of good choices so I'm definitely coming back to try other options. Thankfully the team I was traveling chose differently. I chose the Chicken Fried Chicken with 2 sides which were Baked Beans & Cucumber & Onion salad. Not exactly what I was expecting but overall an excellent option. The chicken breast was moist and had a nice crispy coating. The downside was that it was a thick breast which in my opinion wished it was flattened then battered & fried. At the end of the meal it didn't matter my plate was cleared. The team had different ideas, one chose the Meat Loaf, mashed potatoes & fried Okra! Since they were two large slices of Meat Loaf I snagged a piece to try. Very good. The other two chose the Fried Catfish, another excellent option. No complaints from them! A very pleasant surprise and I'll make a special trip to dine her again. One last thing before we left, each of us got a huge Cinnamon Roll for much later in the day . . . or maybe for breakfast! Wow, Tammy's is a must eat along Route 66! The yeast rolls with cinnamon butter were beyond delicious . Hubby had the chicken fried steak sandwich and I enjoyed Tammy's burger. When I asked staff for a stamp, they offered me a cup instead because they didn't have a stamp yet ! The customer service is beyond what I could've imagined. Davenport Oklahoma is a must stop on Route 66. There are two of the best diners in Oklahoma located in this little town. Either side of the road you can't go wrong. Tammy's will win you over as soon as you see and taste those large fluffy warm yeast rolls and cinnamon butter. Order your drinks and be patient, they are coming. It is a cozy clean small-town restaurant, typical décor, common diner menu with the daily specials you would expect. Very good service! I was in the mood for a BLT. They serve up a good one and I added the cucumber and onion salad for the side. There was an "all you can eat" catfish special on the white board. My wife went with the three-piece meal, from the menu. A plate filled edge to edge with fish and fries and it comes with your choice of sides. A mound of food. Check the pictures. Slaw and cucumber salad for her. Perfect crisp fresh catfish and excellent house made tartar sauce. Good on the fish, perfect dip for the fries too. They have a salad bar for a lighter meal or side and a cabinet full of sweet treats for the perfect finish. A nice friendly welcoming place to eat on Route 66. My family came here on a weekday night. The place was pretty quiet, maybe 6 groups eating when we walked in. The staff was pretty quick to take our orders and to get the fresh rolls out to the table. The cinnamon sugar butter was dangerously good, risking we'd fill up on the bread without noticing. The dinners were okay. I got a light bean and cornbread dinner. That was a mistake. The beans were good, but the cornbread was gummy and not very fresh tasting. My brother got a daily special, the hamburger steak. Looked okay, but he wasn't the biggest fan. My wife got a chicken quesidilla, which was the surprise hit. It was really loaded with chicken and came with good queso and chips on the side. We dined it on Sunday and the parking lot was extremely full. They did have an open table so we were immediately seated. The waitress took our drinks immediately and had them back to the table in a blink. She was extremely attentive and had a great memory for all of our special requests. Thanks Alexis. There were eight of us dining and everybody ordered a meal and we waited approximately 20 to 30 minutes before it came to the table so not to slow. We ordered an assortment of things and they bring you ginormous homemade rolls with honey butter and regular better to your table as soon as you sit down. They are insane good. We ordered a 12 ounce ribeye dinner, children's cheeseburger meal, chili and cornbread, beans and fried potatoes and a barbecue burger. Visited this location again on 2/2/24 as it is one of our favorite places to eat. We started our meal with the Fried Cheese Curds served with ranch which were good but they are a spicy breaded cheese curd so keep that in mind. My sister had the Senior Roast Beef dinner which comes with 2 sides. The pot roast was so tender & juicy & just melts in your mouth. She had the cucumber & onion salad which she likes but would enjoy it more if the skin was removed on the cucumbers. That is just her preference though. She also had the mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I had the Senior Chicken Fried Steak dinner which comes with 2 sides. I had the mashed potatoes with white gravy & macaroni & cheese. We both agreed that the mashed potato's are really good, smooth & creamy without any lumps in the potatoes. The macaroni & cheese is very creamy with lots of cheese in it. The meal comes with hand pinched yeast rolls which are HUGE. The rolls come with butter & cinnamon spread & are served Before your meal when you get your drinks. This was our first time to visit during the weekday & in the afternoon time. We liked that our visit was after the lunch rush & before the dinner rush which sometimes makes it difficult to find parking. Driving through Oklahoma on Route 66 and decided to stop here for dinner. Omg so gooooood!!! Can't say enough good things about it. Fast service, our appetizer came out in a few minutes and a few minutes after that our food came out. The rolls are delicious with the cinnamon butter. Fried mushrooms were so good. Stopped by for the first time on a Thursday evening and had a very good quick meal of beans and cornbread with fried potatoes. Cornbread was excellent with a bit of sweetness and very fresh. The beans were good and very filling. They give you dinner rolls while you look over the menu. They large and very good. Service was good also. They ran out of blackberry cobbler just before I asked for one. Will definitely come back and will get the cobbler then. We ordered a cinnamon roll to go for breakfast tomorrow. It is huge! Several years ago, we started driving up and down Route 66, trying local restaurants. We always stop for lunch between noon and 1 pm -- for consistency. Each time we order the same menu items, to get a good comparison of the food, atmosphere, and service. We never tell anyone who we are, or what we are doing. In the case of Tammy's Round Up Cafe, the restaurant fell short of average. The parking lot was full, but we were lucky enough to find an open spot right up front. The line was out the door -- we ended up waiting in line (outside) about 20 minutes. The hostess said the same thing to everyone -- "we are full up at the moment. Let me see what I can find for you." Then she would disappear for about 60 seconds and then immediately seat the people she just spoke to. When it was our turn, and we were lead to our table, it became obvious they were NOT "full up". There were plenty of empty tables that had not yet been bussed. Not cool to make your customers wait outside in the summer for 20 minutes, because you can't find the time to buss a table! Waitress seemed nice, but that quickly faded. Drinks quickly ran dry and were not refilled. Food tasted like cafeteria food. Fries and okra were cold, and soggy. My wife wanted desert, but the waitress never came back to our table -- not even to buss the table, refill our drinks, or give us the bill to pay! When we went to search for someone to help us, it was clear only about 5% of the tables had customers -- so they were absolutely not busy. Then, suddenly our waitress appeared at the cash register! She was still there after all! She didn't ask if everything was good, or if we wanted anything to go -- I honestly believe she didn't speak a word to me! I gave her a nice, fat 20% tip and walked away -- still wanting something... I give Tammy's Round Up Cafe 1 star, and 1 additional star to support local Route 66 businesses -- 2 stars total. If you are in Davenport, don't eat at Tammy's. Instead, make the short drive to the Rock Cafe in Stroud, or a bit further to Pop's in Arcadia. Even Chandler has better options than Tammy's. read more

We finally took the time to stop here at Tammy's on Route 66. It shares a parking lot with a small little antique shop we have stopped at a few times. They have really cute decor and the walls are covered with a mix of Route 66 type nostalgia. They also have fun fixtures in the restroom and some cool folksy art around the place. We came at breakfast time and with hungry bellies. I had a couple eggs, with home fries, bacon, biscuits, and of course gravy! Everything was fixed to perfection and so tasty. The gravy was creamy and wonderful. The service was very friendly. We were met and seated immediately upon entering. (I bet it can get pretty busy on weekend nights from the looks of the area....) Our server was very attentive through getting us seated and through our food being delivered. She was even super apologetic when there was a small issue with our order. I love this place in Davenport. Great food! My favorite is the meatloaf! Every time I go there, it's what I always get, and you get a lot for your money. The waitresses are great and pretty funny. I go there with my guy friend who is notorious to give them a hard time. Just kidding around, of course. They dish one back to him, too. Their portions are huge. I have tried the chicken fried steak, catfish, and meatloaf meals. All are outstanding! And I am an extremely picky catfish eater, and normally loathe chicken fried steak. The salad bar is small but kept clean with great choices to create a salad with! The homemade rolls are a little piece of heaven in Davenport. And the cinnamon butter adds to that! The staff is friendly, fun, with the good old fashioned customer service skills that don't exist in mainstream food service these days! The price is low for the serving size, and the menu is simple (helps keep overhead low, so customers can benefit from low prices). I absolutely recommend stopping by for a try! read more

My wife and I have been here a few times. The food has been good. So this review isn't bashing the food at all. This place has a serious customer service problem. I don't know if they're short staffed or just don't care. But our visits have been spread out enough that you'd think we'd catch them on a good day. There haven't been any good days. I don't remember everything about our previous two visits. I know there was an issue about them seating us at a table short one chair. We had to go find another ourselves. But a constant has been no host to seat you when you come in. There's a sign that says "Please wait to be seated". And that's exactly what happened. We waited. Too long. Every time. It's not like the place was busy. We stand there looking around for someone to make eye contact with us. It eventually happens. But why isn't anyone designated to seat people? I don't get it. The sign should say, "Seat yourself". Anyway, the last visit it wasn't busy. There were other customers, of course. But nothing overwhelming. We waited to be seated. Fine. Whatever. We're seated and the waitress asks us what we'd like to drink. We order waters and coffee. After awhile she comes out with waters and coffee. No cream or sugar. She leaves. Comes back for our orders after 10 minutes. I order, I forget the name, but something that's covered biscuits with gravy and eggs. She says they're out of biscuits. This is a Sunday morning in Oklahoma. Do you not want to make any money today? Okay. Fine. She says she can substitute it with Texas toast. We ask her about the cream and sugar. She leaves and comes back another 5 minutes later with the cream and sugar. Doesn't refill our waters. We can see her. She seems preoccupied with another larger table. But it's not like there are a ton of other people there. Anyway, we get our food and that's the last we see of her at our table. She never came back. Not to refill our water or coffee. Not to ask us how our food was. Nothing. The food was good. Even without the biscuits. But to finish this up... I meant it when I said she never came back. We sat there done with our food for 15 minutes watching her wait on the other table. Until we got up and just went to the register and asked for our check. Then we see our waitress by the register and kitchen and she thanks the girl at the register. Doesn't say anything to us. No, "Sorry. I got busy." Nothing. Walks right by us. We won't be back. Ok this place was only 10 minutes off main highway, between Chandler and Stroud. It is definitely worth the detour. Located in Davenport, next to a cool antique store. They have a guy doing some incredible baking there. Yeast rolls are just like my great grandmother made, except she didn't offer the cinnamon honey butter like him.Sweet salad bar and your basic "blue plate" specials made with much love. So happy this place was open on Easter Sunday because all the other places we drove by were closed. We chowed down on a bunch of side dishes -- mashed potatoes, fried okra, fried mushrooms -- and their complementary rolls with a delicious whipped butter including cinnamon and cocoa. Yum! It was incredibly inexpensive to dine here. I bought some Route 66 schwag but wished they had their own Tammy's schwag. read more
