The worst venue I've ever visited. We drove all the way from Tallahassee to come to the game. We got here at 2 o'clock. We sat in line in our car for two hours for them to tell us they changed the time as soon as to the end of the line an hour later we got to the gate they told us it wasn't opening for another hour after we had been told earlier it was opening then this place is run the most disorganized crazy out of control place I've ever seen how people don't get hurt every day is beyond me or maybe they do and we just don't hear about it. I will never and I mean never buccaneer go to a buccaneer game. Watch him on TV or definitely not come to their games. They should be ashamed of how they were in this place and the prices don't even get me started. read more

The first home game of the season was well worth the wait. The stadium was packed and if you're an old fan like me it was reminiscent of the early days with the unis and the music. Everyone was having a great time and the weather was cooperative from kickoff to the last whistle. I don't know if every game this 50th year will have the same energy but it's going to be a wild ride this year. read more

When I first moved to Atlanta in the early 2000s, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were often a formidable opponent. The Bucs and the Falcons have been in the same division, the NFC South, since 2002. They formed the NFC South division with the Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans Saints that year. That same season, the Bucs won the Super Bowl (Super Bowl XXXVII) against the Oakland Raiders, 48-21. Coincidentally, that was coach Jon Gruden's first year with the Bucs after spending the first four years of his NFL head coaching career with the Raiders. Gruden would eventually wind up with a 57-55 record with the Bucs, spanning seven seasons (2002-2008). Over that period, the Bucs won the division three times (2002, 2005, 2007). My favorite Madden NFL game by EA Sports was Madden NFL 2004 for the PlayStation 2. I liked that edition the best because it featured Mike Vick on the cover and he was awesome to play as in a video game. He played for the Falcons at the time. The game was released in late summer 2003 which meant the Bucs were good. They were the reigning champs. The 2000s Bucs had players like Derrick Brooks (LB), Warren Sapp (DT), Mike Alstott (FB), John Lynch (SS), Ronde Barber (CB), and Simeon Rice (DE). At the time of writing this review, the Bucs all-time record against the Falcons is 25-28 so it's been a pretty even and competitive series between the two teams. Unfortunately, the Bucs haven't done much since the Gruden era. After losing in the Wild Card playoffs in January 2008 (2007 season), the Bucs have routinely finished in 3rd or 4th place in the NFC South. Granted, the division has been quite strong and competitive some years such as in 2010 when the Falcons went 13-3, the Saints went 11-5, and the Bucs went 10-6, but more often than not, the Bucs have been well below .500. Since Gruden, they've had five different head coaches in 11 seasons -- that's roughly one coaching change every two years. In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Bucs drafted QB Jameis Winston with the 1st overall pick. In 2013, as a redshirt freshman, Winston led Florida State to the national championship. I thought the Bucs made a good pick. However, for various reasons (including playing through injury), Winston's career with the Bucs never panned out. He led the Bucs to only one season above .500 (and it was just one game above .500, 9-7, in the 2016 season). He made the 2016 Pro Bowl (2015 season). In the 2019 season, Winston threw seven pick-sixes which set an NFL record. After that season, he became a free agent. On March 20, 2020, the Bucs signed QB Tom Brady to a two-year deal that included both no-trade and no-tag clauses. Brady had spent the first 20 (!) years of his legendary career with the New England Patriots. He begins his first season with the Bucs at age 42. About a month after Brady's signing, his former Pats teammate Rob Gronkowski announced he was coming out of retirement. On April 21, 2020, the Pats traded Gronk to the Bucs so he could rejoin Brady. Also, on September 2, 2020 (the date of this review), the Bucs signed Leonard Fournette to a one-year deal. It's like the Miami Heat over here. read more

Had a meeting at 1 Buc Place and it was a great experience. All of the Bucs staff were great. We ended up in the auditorium and it was a great place for a meeting. We ate in the dining hall and the food was really good. The players are very lucky as they eat well. We also got a tour of the facility. We are season pass members and have been for quite some time. So we attend every home game...which can get pretty hot in the Summer months. Over the years we've shared our fair amount of good versus bad experiences with this place and the staff. We sit in the 300 section because we love the view of the entire field but the concession lines no matter where you sit are always so long and slow. The staff or volunteers that they get to run these areas need to step it up. What is frustrating more than anything is that they don't have specific lines at every service kiosk just for refills. After purchasing your souvenir mug that is refillable, they should have areas where you can go just get them refilled and not have to stand in the LONG lines again just for a refill. They did change up some of the food options and places for this football season, which is nice but they are all located on the lower level which does nothing for the upper level fans unless you want to travel down to the lower level and deal with that crowd. read more

I named a pub after a dollar bill and the people that listen to me when I talk. It's called the "Buck & Ears". Thinking this stadium was called Busch stadium cost me some points on a recent quiz. First-Hand Experience: I loved watching the Bucs play at home in front of the ship. I loved even more that they lost the game because I don't like the team very much. The Saints came in and rolled them over as usual. The only thing is that I did love Jon Gruden and that star-studded line up so I'm glad they got the SB win. However, having seen them live in person one time, I have to say - where are all the fans? It looks so Rowdy (no pun intended) on TV but in person the stadium wasn't as packed or as loud as I expected. For that reason I knock off an extra star from the average rating. Now that I've seen every NFL team play live & been to every NFL stadium (current and former), time to review them on Yelp! I love stadiums! I've been to every cool stadium in the UK & North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I've toured America as a musician for 7 years. In that time, I've seen sports games at (or visited when empty, or both) almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I'll upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** I'm not a fairweather fan... I'm just not a fan. People need to cut this team some slack. When are football fans suppose to be fair weather people. The idea is that you support a team through the good, the bad, and the ugly! I feel lucky that I live in a city that has a NFL team. None of this living in the boondocks of Texas jumping on the Cowboy or Texans bandwagon (I use to live in Texas and saw this a lot). We live in Tampa Bay so we support the Buccaneers. It is difficult, because so many people who live in the Tampa Bay region are transplants from someplace else, so they either 1. don't feel loyal to this team or 2. have allegiance to another team. But we as fans need to step it up and support the Bucs! Yes the team has had it ups and downs from winning the Super Bowl to losing to some pretty darn awful teams. This review is for the overall experience I had at this stadium...not for the team. This was my first visit to this stadium and I really had a fantastic time! I have a friend whose husband is a former NFL player and they both work for the Buccs. My friend scored me, my husband and a couple of his friends some really good club seats...so we didn't have to sit outside and melt while watching the game! The parking was a bit of a fiasco, but I suppose that's to be expected. We walked right up to the Will Call, collected our tickets and headed to the club level. On the way in we were stopped by some bud light promo folks who gave everyone free passes to go into their little hut thingy and enjoy 3 free beers! What a great experience for a first visit here! :-) The stadium was rather easy to navigate and there were ample concession stands. The club level was nice...very spacious and easy to access. Wasn't very far from our seats! There could be a few more tables/seating areas inside though. I can't complain too much because we were able to nab a table fairly quickly. Club level has a good vantage point to the field and also has televisions all over so that you can get a closer look at the game. Several concession stands inside the club area as well. Overall, a pretty nice stadium! read more

The Bucs are a clear example of a historical franchise that has seen the best of times and the worse of times. Terrible seasons and dominate seasons. Ugliest seasons came with those ugly bright neon orange jerseys on. When they finally switched up to the red ones and implemented that Cover 2 defense, they were almost unstoppable. Very dominate! The NFL Experience for Superbowl XLIII is AWESOME!!! It's huge and there's a ton to do. They have all sorts of games where you can test your skills... i.e. punting, passing, kicking field goals, receiving, and so on. There's also "Kid's Zone" for the littler ones, and it's so fun. There's a HUGE sandbox, and lots of the "bigger" games in a smaller size. The setup is incredible and so impressive. Lots of NFL players are making appearances and signing autographs. And the Lombardi trophy is on display, you can get real close to it! This place is well worth the reasonable ticket price and will keep you entertained for hours. read more

It's a bit unusual to rate a sports team. After all, the criteria you'd usually use on Yelp don't really seem to translate very well. However, I can give you a little of my opinion on the Bucs since I was stationed there years ago at MacDill AFB. I was assigned to MacDill starting in 1991 and leaving in 1996. While not the most noteable era, but for me it was a good time to be there. While some owners are far too cheap to give tickets away when their team is on a losing streak (i.e. Mike Brown and the Cincinnati Bungles), the Bucs ownership gave away free tickets to those of us assigned to MacDill on more than a few occassions, particularly on holidays. This was in the Big Sombrero days, but nonetheless it made a holiday away from home a little easier. Because of that, I will always pull for the Bucs and even go out of my way to see them when they hit my part of the country. read more

I've been an active Redskins season ticket holder until I moved to Dunedin 4 1/2 years ago! I took my son to Ray Jay about 8 years ago when I was visiting him in Clearwater. I just went back for the first time this past Sunday as I'm a Saints fan. Part of my run group and I tailgated after we had knocked out a 10K race in the morning! The spur of the moment tailgate was outstanding. Forget crying about prices. This is the NFL and you deal with it. We sat way up in the 300 section on thee 10 yard line. I enjoyed the view as I could see the entire play develop. The stadium was filled as the blackout was lifted! The crowd was loud and fun! From what I heard, it's not always like this. Whatever. We're already talking about going back to another game soon. I bought 14 tickets from group sales and "Erin" is now the person I will deal with! It's the way I did it in DC, I'm doing it here! She was very helpful, personable, and represents the Bucs well! I was really not surprised by my experience as I remember the great time my son & I had at the Bucs-Giants game. Sadly I cannot give 1 star. My husband and I are season ticket, club level members. Their security department has been an issue for the past 2 years. It appears as security for the Bucs either a. Just stands there and eats popcorn and sandwiches or b. acts as though they are Barney Fife with shiny new bullets. After 2 members of the security team became verbally abusive. I notified member services which removed the 2 security guards from our section, but as we were leaving, we noticed that one of the guards was actually behind the members service desk working. Of course I'm sure he spun the situation to his advantage, but they didn't even try to make it appear as if the situation had been handled - not just appropriately - but at all. Way to go Bucs. After 6 months of trying to get a final response from management, it has been determined that they will keep our $2000 seat license. This is despite our agent telling us if we renewed for 2014 we would get it refunded. They also said a letter went out to all season ticket holders that allowed them to opt out and would get their deposit back. I never received the letter and they have no proof it was mailed. Very unethical organization and it comes from the top. When you factor in the teams success along with unethical business practices, one star is generous! read more
