This is a large complex on the USF campus used for basketball and special events, especially today's Graduation for my grandson Conner! They did charge $15 for parking, even to the graduating students who drove themselves in today. Security lines are appreciated at such venues but some staff members need more training on how to handle the public. Inside facilities and snack stands to replenish what had to be thrown away at security point. read more

This place is huge! It's located on the campus of the University of South Florida (in Tampa) Florida. It is home to the college men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams. In addition, the Center is a multi-purpose facility that hosts over 300 events each year, including sporting events, concerts, family shows and more. We came here for a grandson's high school graduation. It was at 8:00 am, but cars lined up much earlier to get the graduates here in time and to get better seats. They were hosting several high school graduations in one day -- back to back. The acoustics were fine plus they have big screens in a couple locations to see the stage area. Seats were plastic in tiered rows. Not that comfortable, but okay. It's not very accessible nor handicapped friendly. If you have any problems walking, the aisles to the seats had lots of steps and were steep. I was surprised that they charged everyone $15 for self parking. No outside food and drink were allowed. And they make you go through metal detectors and search all bags. The concessions were over priced. And are cashless. Still it was nice to attended a happy celebration here. The school did a good job recognizing all the excelling students. And because the venue was so large, there were no restrictions on the number of family attendees. read more

We went to the Yuengling Center for the World of Hans Zimmer concert, and overall, it was a great experience. Parking was easy to find, with clear directions specifically for concert parking. Once inside, we went through security and had our tickets scanned. Since it was our first time at the Yuengling Center, the staff was very helpful in guiding us to our seats. The concert itself was fantastic, the vibe was positive, and one could feel the energy of everyone enjoying the music. The only downside was that the center only served drinks, with no food options available, which was a bit disappointing. All in all, we had a wonderful time at the Yuengling Center and truly enjoyed the concert experience. read more

Went to the October London concert at the UCF Yuengling Center and it was the perfect place to host it. The size is surprisingly comfortable. We had floor seats but looked like every seat was a great seat. Parking was easy. The staff inside were super friendly. Especially the floor team. We've been to USF Yuengling Center quite a few times. First, for concerts, then for a comedian, then our boys graduated there, then most recent for the Hans Zimmer LIVE concert. It is staffed with friendly people, clean, organized, and great views from many angles. We love coming here as opposed to other arenas & stadiums because of those reasons. Awesome mid-size arena for many of our local events. I regularly go here for USF basketball games and it's exactly what you'd expect. My only gripe is that they seem ill equipped to handle larger crowds, so cars end up backing up on Fowler Ave. Concessions a bit pricey, $10 for domestic beer, and often run out of programs (men's basketball). read more

Got to see Doechii here for Alligator Bites Never Heal! Wish I got there earlier for the Nike Pop-Up, the airboat photo opp looked incredible. Wish reserved parking was cheaper but the proximity was convenient, and check-in/leaving were smooth. LOVE that the bag restrictions aren't crazy strict, and the level of security at check-in feels secure. Venue and bathrooms were clean, staff were all friendly and helpful! Only note is that we should be allowed to keep the bottle when we buy water instead of having to hold a cup in the pit. read more

What a crappy arena. What we encountered were small, crowded corridors, poor line management for concessions and concert merchandise, terrible restroom layout, and frustrating signage when trying to find parking. Upon arrival, there were two lines of cars and the signs said to use both lines. The line on the right went into the parking lot at the front of the arena. The line on the left took you past the parking lot to a light where a sign said event parking with an arrow to the right. That was the last sign we saw and we ended up driving around campus and back towards the arena where we finally found parking that wasn't even clear it was for the event. What a negative arrival experience, plus we had a long ass walk in the 90+ degree heat. Luckily, we were delayed enough so there was no line to get in. We went through security and were on our way in. The sections were poorly labeled as we went in the entrance to our section and had to walk through about 5-6 sections to get to our seats. There was no clear walkway so we were walking down rows of seats. Sections are marked terribly and we found our seats, but many people throughout the show found they were in the wrong seats as others came to sit down. Annoying! The ushers were kind of useless with the amount of mistaken seats. All of the restrooms are on the ground level! This made it a challenge to try and use the facilities as we happened to be in a section that the only way back out was climbing up the stairs to the top, then going down the stairs to the bottom. Again, terrible planning by whoever built this place. The Ghost concert sounded great and it's the only reason it's 2 stars instead of 1 star. It's a small, intimate arena and probably good for a college like USF. It just lacked too much to be given a positive rating. As a venue for attending an event, I've been to way better places, including some High Schools that could teach this venue a thing or two. read more

First time coming here for a concert. Haven't been here since I graduated from USF, so it's been some time! Tauren Wells concert and we had front row and VIP access. Love me some Tauren and this facility made for a great place to have the concert. I've never been to an event where parking and entrance/exit ran so smooth! The staff is organized and friendly! Signage was clear to funds parking. Parking was via ParkWhiz, so you purchased online and show the QR code for scanning when entering the lot. Staff directed cars to the available spots. When we entered the center, staff was clear about the entrance process and in telling us what to do and where to go when we entered. Since we had VIP access, we had a meet and greet with Tauren before the concert. We were directed to get our lanyards and where we needed to go for the meet and greet. When the concert was over, exiting the parking lot was the most organized I've ever seen! They had traffic directed by staff that clearly helped to get everyone out in an orderly fashion. This also helped with how quickly the traffic was able to exit. I definitely think they could teach the city of Tampa and Bucs a few tips. read more

Came here for an HS graduation; ain't grandkids wonderful? Getting into the place was pretty simple; just turn off Fowler where it says "USF Yuengling Center." Then follow the thousands of traffic cones conveniently set up for "Event Parking." They even have signs so indicating, along with unfriendly "community service officers" to point in random directions. One we found our spots up in Section 213, which was an easy chore with all the clear signage. Then of course climb the steep stairs up the steep balconies and before you know it, you too will get a mild case of vertigo. So here we are having transformed this "center" from the "arena" it really is. One good thing about the is place is that the slightly overpriced snack bar was in operation. That way we can all live up to that old notion of "Go to a graduation, get a snow cone." I suppose it works just as well with popcorn or a corn dog too. There are sufficient restrooms and manners of egress to keep the flow moving in here. It seems as though they have a well-tuned AC system too. It was hot outside but you'd never know it in here. Would I come back here for a basketball game, you ask? Personally, I could care less about USF. I could also care less about basketball. Nothing wrong with either of those two most American phenomena, I suppose; just nothing that draws me either. As a result of the Eldest Granddaughter Unit finishing her (secondary) academic career...eh: beats sitting in an open air stadium. "Horns Up!" read more

As a concert venue this place was awesome! Saw Ghost here and they were fantastic as always. The upper seats were pretty uncomfortable but it's meant for college students to watch basketball games so you shouldn't expect luxury. Acoustics were great and lighting was phenomenal. Came for a USF Men's Basketball game as they were facing my Alma mater (Go Great Danes!) There was ample parking with the university on winter break, and parking was free which is not easy to come by anywhere in Tampa! The venue is clean, very well maintained. Lots of concessions open with standard offerings of popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, soda. I didn't eat while there but they all looked well staffed and lines were moving quickly. There wasn't a large crowd but there was a lot of fan engagement with fan cams, t shirt tosses, etc. It was a fun environment. Definitely some Tampa pride among the fans. Tickets are affordable, $15 day of for first level general admission. read more

The process for letting people in for a kids cheerleading event was a joke. 20 min plus to get in. Arrived 30 min early and missed my child's performance. I have never seen such a poorly run venue Mr Vinick and USF should be ashamed of the facility and staff which runs it. This is a case study for sport management classes on how not to run a facility. read more

I came here a few weeks ago for the Lizzo concert... but it would be pretty tough to convince myself to come back here unless I was a HUGE fan of the artist. To be fair, Lizzo was originally supposed to play at Jannus Live, but it sold out so quickly that they had to switch the venue. Even so, they had months to anticipate the crowds, and did a pretty terrible job of planning this event. There was an almost total lack of traffic control both in and out of the Yuengling Center. My friend and I were stuck for nearly an hour just trying to get into the USF campus. Once we did, we paid $15 to park (which seems a bit steep but whatever), only to find the parking situation to be a free-for-all. No one was directing cars where to go. Lanes dead-ended with barriers put up, so drivers had to make seven-point turns to get out. By the time we walked up to the building, there were MASSIVE lines, with only two lanes open. They kept telling people to walk to the next entrance, promising there'd be no lines. Except we got told that at two different entrances and had to walk to the complete opposite side of the building. Once inside, the acoustics were absolutely terrible. We didn't have great seats, but no one around us had any idea of what anyone on stage was saying or singing. Unless you had a song memorized, you weren't going to be able to discern any lyrics. Also, the seats (at least in the upper section) were just bench-style bleachers with no backs. Not at all comfortable. I'm sure this place is just fine for basketball games, but it's pretty terrible for a concert. If you're coming to see an act here, I'd suggest getting the closest seats you can afford if you want to actually hear it properly. Oh yeah, and on the way out, there was once again no crowd control, so hordes of people just blocked the roads, trapping cars for what felt like an eternity. For a college basketball stadium, this USF venue is quite possibly one of the best organized I've ever encountered. Every seat in the house is a good one - we experienced court-side which included a complimentary t-shirt. This also included access to the Bull's Club, which provided some hot dogs, hummus table, cheeses, and a mini taco station. In addition, complimentary beverages including beer, wine and mixed drinks. This may not be typical of all court side tickets, as these were part of a season package. The school band played right to our right, building energy in the game and getting the crowd excited. The Sun Dome is a fun place to watch a basketball game. I have seen both the USF Women's basketball games, and the USF Men's Basketball games here, and it is a surprisingly intimate venue. I think the sight lines are good from wherever you sit. Case in point - we were in the back row of the second tier for the Women's NCAA tournament game, and still could see just fine. Plus, it helps that they have a nice size Jumbotron. Concession stands are typical: unhealthy food at a hefty price, with costly small cocktails, but there are plenty of places close to the University to eat and drink, should you so desire. read more

Went there with my wife a another couple to see Zedd. First concert in Tampa so obviously first at Sun Dome. We found it easily and parked close to the dome. First, the bad. When we got in, realized I forgot my reading glasses. When I went to the door, they told me if I walked out, I couldn't get back in. Seriously? Have they ever heard of hand stamps? That's ridiculous. Thankfully it was only my reading glasses, no bid deal, but that was crazy. Now for the good. The place was clean and seating was awesome. Concessions were as expensive as you'd expect and even though the place was packed, it was easy to move through. The sound was amazing. Not too loud or too soft and no echo. The most amazing part was leaving. I'm used to being stuck in traffic for at least an hour (been in concerts in NY, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and Nashville). They directed traffic wonderfully. Within 15 minutes we were on main road. Impressive. Great experience. Would want to attend a concert there again for sure. read more

It's bigger inside than I thought it would be. Came here to see Gabriel Iglesias perform and loved it. The venue is kind of confusing once you first step in but once you figure it out it's pretty easy to find things around to eat and won't not. Plenty of bathroom as well so you always can go no matter which side you are sitting at. Nose bleed sections aren't as high as you would think and can still see down to the bottom without problems. read more

It was our first time attending this venue. We sat in Section 302 Row E to see MercyMe, Crowder and Andrew Ripp. The artists were fabulous but the acoustics/sound were not very good for a venue of that size. The sound should be good for all areas of the venue to be enjoyed not just if you are on the floor or lower level. Definitely needs to attention this detail. Seating was good. Just would have enjoyed it to fullest if the sound quality was up to par. read more

I saw Imagine Dragons at USF Sun Dome on 9/24/13. This was my first time inside the newly renovated Sun Dome. I was pretty impressed. They had a fantastic (and LOUD) sound system. We were in the seats to the right of the stage four seats up. We had an amazing view of the stage. It honestly looked like there would not be a bad view in the house. The seats were comfortable enough and slightly better than baseball seats. My one complaint about the venue is the stupid cup holders. The holes are too small for the cups to sit in the cup holders. Instead they sit on top of it. My Husband had a young boy knock into his cup and was covered in soda the entire concert. We left in between bands to go to the concession and get a soda. They had typical venue/ movie theater prices. Our wait was really short. Within 5 minutes we were back in our seat, so I was happy about that. Parking was $10 and it was a PAIN to get in and out of the lot. However, I am USF Alumni, so I expected that. School was in and the campus has always been a pain when it comes to getting places and finding parking. It was an amazing concert and I wouldn't change a thing about it...including the venue. I would definitely go to a concert here again. QUICK TIPS FOR SUN DOME CONCERTS: 1- Check your email! They sent out emails with recommendations for navigating the school, parking prices and all the info you need. 2-Bring Cash for parking and arrive a little early (especially on school days). Concessions except credit card. 3-Bring a removable sweater. It was freezing inside until the concert started and body heat and adrenaline warmed everyone up. read more

We attended the USF women's volleyball game against SMU at the fka Sun Dome. It was nice that the venue was sized appropriately for the event. Too bad the name was changed due to corporate sponsorship but we totally understand the concept. We loved fist bumping Rocky too! read more

There is only 1, ONE water fountain and it's clear on the other side of the main entrance in section D. And the lines were wayy too long, the n after I decided to stand in line,...they said we're out of water. I'd said I was never coming back to this arena for music concert before but I this experience will surely be burned in my memory forever. I cant take the chance. read more

Got to check out the seating, sound and overall vibe of the newly renovated Sun Dome on the University of South Florida Tampa campus. It is far more compact than some of the more established venues in the area but overall I was impressed. Got to enjoy Florence & the Machine in concert and the sound system beautifully broadcast her amazing vocals. My seats were off to the side of the stage but fairly close so the view was good. I am not prone to opt for standing on the floor for hours but for those who don't mind doing so, it is a viable option. The seats were not super comfy but not unbearable and leg room was quite adequate for sitting and allowing others to enter and exit the rows. The only issue was that there seemed to be no one helping people find their seats once you entered the main area, at least not in our section. Fortunately it was a simple task to wind around the section to access our seats from the opposite end of the row. The scale makes this venue intimate enough to feel like you are at a concert and not a video show but the capacity also makes the Sun Dome a great stop for some major talent (hello, Sir Elton John was the Grand Opening entertainment). So I look forward to see what the future bookings will be and how this venue impacts our local entertainment scene. Parking was $10 but signage to get to the event parking and to leave the parking lot was a bit lacking. It is an easy fix but an important one for those unfamiliar with the campus and the access roads that get you back to the main thoroughfares and on your way home. read more

Went to a concert there. Friday night A 730pm show with about 6000 people there. At 650 there was no food. Out of hotdogs, no burgers, no empanadas. Lines of people getting stale pretzels. Horrible. How can they do that. Very poor planning and management read more

I attended a two day conference here with about 7,000 other people. My first impression of the Sundome was that it was clean and a good venue for a moderate sized event such as ours. The seats were comfortable and the signage clear. I like the cup holders on the seat in front of you but the leg room was lacking. Acoustics seemed good and each seat (lower and mid bowl, at least) had a decent view of the stage. The USF campus surrounding the Sundome is very pretty as well. Now on to the negatives... When our conference had an intermission and all 7,000 people were on the concourse it was dangerously crowded. I felt like I was back on Bourbon Street in New Orleans about to be caught up in a N'Awlins Wave! It didn't help that the concession lines were snaking around as were the various other vendors lines. And about concessions- what a bunch of junk! There are absolutely no healthy food options, save water. You can buy nachos, popcorn and hot dogs. Blech! I'm glad I'd smuggled in a Kind bar and apple. We weren't allowed to bring in liquids but we were allowed to bring in our empty, reusable water bottles. Our plan was to fill from a fountain once inside. Well, my friend and I went to fill them near an entrance and one of the staff abruptly told us we were not allowed to do that. Even though when we entered we were told we could. We were told we couldn't because they wouldn't know what liquid may be in the bottle. Well, would that apply to water we bought as well??? My friend, who was a nursing mother, and I asked then what to do if we just wanted water. Predictably he said "buy it". Absolutely ridiculous. This guy was the only staff who ever said anything about the water issue. We walked around the corner to another fountain and filled up our bottles and no one cared. read more

I have only been here once for a concert: The Avett Brothers. For an arena sized concert venue, this is a pretty nice one. The acoustics were better than many other similar sized concert venues. It was also very easy to navigate around and the vendor lines were pretty short. I would imagine that it would be a similar experience watching a basketball game at the Sun Dome. I've been to this venue previously to see Wiz Khalifa, and I have to say it was a pretty good show. This venue offers a variety of activities from basketball, to politcal debates, and often hosts a large variety of music artists. While the venue is pretty nice and spacious, and there's ample room to move about I'm just REALLY not a fan of the parking. If it's a very popular artist that alot of students want to see, the parking lot gets filled up pretty fast and quickly. At USF there's alot of parking spaces that require you to have a permit to park there. So, by the time you find parking that doesn't require you to have a permit, you have to walk through the valley and shadow of death just to get there up to the venue! UGH!! I do enjoy the variety of music artists that they feature, and there's plenty of food places in the area to grab a quick bite before your show. Just plan accordingly! read more

Nice big seats, cup holders, a hanging center screen, club area, loge boxes, full concourse, a USF merch store, and the list goes on.
