I've only ever had one before, so when I moved, this was a huge pain, but I finally found South Tampa Dentistry! The staff has been polite and efficient each time I called / went in, and I saw Dr. Wyatt my first few visits, who he was great. I went in for a last minute appointment once and he wasn't available, so I saw Dr. Mark, and he's been my new favorite dentist ever since! He's gone out of his way to make sure I got the best care quickly and made my concerns a priority. (Idk where these people that left bad reviews went, but they must have the wrong Dr. Mark! )

So coming in they…read moresaid I need x-rays, I asked why I needed an X-ray to get a cleaning (bc I m pregnant I can't get x-rays) and they said "we can tell you have a lot of red flags". I was like "oh wait I am not sure what I did wrong, I just don't understand why I would need them" they said we need you to leave. And he kicked me out, 9 months pregnant and all. I have never ever been treated like that before in my life, just incase some of you might have questions about your teeth - they don't tolerate that at all. So wild, not educating the patience or helping them get the right care. My husband called saying hey why are you treating my wife like this and the doc said I am twisting the words and was argumentative just to argue (that's not my personality). I have never met a doctor who does not appreciate question. In all sincerity I was actually trying to understand, but they clearly didn't like that. Really wished they treated me more kind. And I kind want people to know what to expect coming to this place, so that's why I am Leaving this review. Also, I just read the other reviews and I guess this isn't the first weird thing about x-rays! The senior hygiene lady was so mean to me too! I m not sure why this place can get away with treating people like this.

I have been a patient at this office for about 2 years now, and I can honestly say the experience…read morehas been nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walk in, I'm always greeted by Kiannie, Johana, and Brandon, who are consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming. They really set the tone for every visit. Dr. Georges is truly one of the nicest and most down-to-earth doctors I've ever met. From the beginning, he took the time to really listen to my concerns about straightening my teeth, replacing missing teeth, and achieving a natural, cosmetic look with veneers. He created a thoughtful, long-term plan alongside his treatment coordinator Kiannie (who is awesome, by the way), where I started with orthodontics, kept up with my routine cleanings, and then returned for veneers. During my journey, I was seen by Katie and Madison for cleanings, and they are by far the best hygienists I've ever had. They were always attentive, checked in on my orthodontic progress, and made sure I stayed on track with my treatment plan. After a year in orthodontics, I was finally ready for veneers, and Dr. Georges made the entire process incredible. I had been dealing with fillings and bonding for years, and I knew I wanted something more permanent. He took such great care in giving me my dream smile, and the results exceeded my expectations. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the assistants--Daniel, Liz, and Tiaira--who are absolutely amazing. They are attentive, professional, and always make sure I'm comfortable throughout every visit. The level of care and quality of dentistry I've received here is truly out of this world. This entire office operates at such a high level, I genuinely believe they are among the top in the country. I couldn't recommend them more!

BEWARE OF OVERCHARGING!…read more I strongly recommend that any patient here carefully compare every charge to their insurance EOB. Do not assume the billing is accurate without verifying it yourself! After personally reconciling the office's patient ledger to my insurance Explanation of Benefits, I found over $5k in billing discrepancies. Line by line, I found charges that exceeded the insurance-allowed amounts. For example, one visit was billed at $467, while the allowed amount was $251. These differences were not minor--they added up to a substantial overpayment! What's troubling is that these discrepancies were not identified or corrected by the office. I had to do the reconciliation myself and bring it to their attention. After submitting detailed documentation, including a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet, persistent follow ups and ultimately escalated to take legal action until I finally received a partial refund, well beyond the expected timeframe. Even now, the amount is not fully resolved, and $252 remains in dispute. When billing discrepancies of this size only come to light after a patient conducts their own detailed audit--and then require weeks of pressure to partially correct--it raises serious questions about billing accuracy and internal oversight. Also want to note that they require full payment for procedures up front and don't take in account estimated insurance proceeds. As a result, I ended up over paying by more than $10k! What makes this whole situation worse is that I used to really like this office, had a lot of trust and respect for them but the way I've been treated ever since I started questioning the charges has done a complete 180. They consistently made me feel like a burden and the "bad guy". They did not take accountability at all for the issue and continue to argue with me with no substantial back up. Regarding the actual dental work I received - when I went in to switch out my temporary crowns to the permanent ones (I got crowns on almost all my top teeth), I really didn't like them and weren't like the temporary ones I was wearing for a few weeks. I was almost in tears trying to advocate for myself before they permanently cemented them. They made me feel bad for sending them back, I'm so glad I got the courage to speak up and not accept something I did not like. Ultimately after the second visit, they ended up looking really good but after everything I've dealt with recently, I certainly won't be returning. Who knows how much they overcharged me since 2019 when I first started coming here! If you chose to go to this office, please make sure to pay close attention to your patient charges and the amount they submit to your dental insurance (they should match)! If they owe you a refund, Florida recently based a law that makes it unlawful for healthcare providers to hold onto amounts owed to patients for overpayments over 30 days.

1 star I'm writing…read morethis carefully, because I want anyone reading it to understand this isn't a rant -- it's a timeline. Before I ever came in, I called the office and asked directly: will this visit cost me anything? I was told no. Then at the front desk, I asked again -- and asked specifically whether they had verified my insurance. They said yes, verified, no cost to me. Two separate confirmations, two separate conversations. Weeks later, a $125 bill arrived. When I called to question it, I was first offered a "courtesy discount." Then, suddenly, the story changed: oh, actually, insurance covered a portion -- you only owe $25. Read that again. The bill went from $125 to $25 only because I called. So which is it? Either they never actually verified my insurance before billing me -- meaning the "yes, it's verified" I got twice was false -- or they sent me an inflated bill and hoped I'd just pay it. There is no third option, and neither one is a "mistake." When I pointed out I was told there'd be no cost at all, the answer became "we don't guarantee insurance coverage." Then why did your staff guarantee it -- on the phone AND in person? Nobody said "we can't promise coverage" either time I asked. That disclaimer only appeared after the bill did. A policy you invent after the fact isn't a policy. It's a cover story. To be clear: this is not about $25. I can afford $25. This is about an office that told me one thing twice, billed me five times that amount, and only corrected it under pressure. If I hadn't called, they'd have my $125. How many patients just pay? And it fits the pattern of the entire visit, which was one long sales pitch. I was told I needed gingivitis therapy, antibiotics, AND a deep cleaning at premium prices. They pushed a CT scan, which I declined -- thank God, given what their billing looks like. They even tried to sell me Invisalign, which I never asked about. So I got a second opinion: another dentist told me the antibiotics were not necessary and quoted the deep cleaning at a fraction of the price. The treatment plan wasn't built around my teeth. It was built around my wallet. The front staff is polite -- I'll give them that. But polite is what a sales operation is supposed to be. I've been to Aspen Dental, and at least Aspen never told me twice a visit was covered, billed me $125, and then "discovered" it was $25 when I complained. This is the first dental office I've ever ranked below Aspen Dental. Let that sink in. I've since switched to Bay Premier Dentistry: honest pricing quoted upfront, no surprise bills, excellent work, zero sales pressure. Night and day. What happened at this office isn't "just how dentistry is" -- it's a choice this office makes. To be honest, I wouldn't go to this dentist at all. But if you come here anyway: get every cost in writing before sitting in the chair -- verbal assurances from this office meant nothing for me, twice. Check every bill they send against your insurance's explanation of benefits, because mine was five times what it should have been. Decline anything you didn't come in for, and get a second opinion on any treatment plan. I am reporting this to my insurance company. Not for the $25 -- for the next patient. I understand people are in different financial situations, and I don't want someone getting screwed who can't afford it. A surprise $125 bill built on false assurances could really hurt the wrong person. Shame on them.
