Starting Arts could not give straight answers when a bullying incident occurred during a rehearsal at their studio. One employee who was not working at the studio on the day of the incident, Adrienne Marquette, insisted her story was truthful. The adult present for the rehearsal, Amber Micelli, gave her side of the story about the incident, but it did not match the first story. Both adults telling us two different stories about our children experiencing a difficult situation in a supposed "safe space" is completely ridiculous, and neither one of them should be working with children. The company's handling of the situation could have been better and more professional. It is alright to say you don't know what happened rather than make up a story and insist it is true. Be aware of this business and how they treat children when parents are not nearby. They yell at the kids here and get frustrated if they have trouble reading their lines.

The studio is clean and easy to get to from our house. I had a couple of issues with the party. First, this was a group of 5 year olds and the teacher chose an art project that was super challenging. My son loved it but I think it could have been a little better chosen for the age group. Secondly, I think that there should be some sort of paper trail after I booked the party. Everything is done verbally. I wanted to pay for the upgraded package or at least thought I told the manager this but when it came time for the party we did not get the upgraded package. It was a bit confusing. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend this kind of birthday party to others.

Somehow we came upon the great answer of taking weekly Father-Daughter art classes at Hidden Talent. We've been doing it for 2 years and my daughter and I just love it! The teachers at Hidden Talent are all very caring, talented, friendly, and genuinely interested in teaching the students. We've explored a variety of mediums, techniques, and materials in our projects. We spent last fall working on the human form - something really great for a 5th grader to begin to learn. Too bad we can't post pictures in this Yelp post! If your child is showing that creative spark and you want to foster it, nurture it, and help them really grown that talent, this is a fantastic opportunity. The instructor was very fun and really willing to help out and inspire. 5 stars. The second workshop i took, just this Sunday, was not great at all. It was a mosaic class and it might as well have been self led. The instructor gave us a brief 3-5 min tutorial on how to place the tiles and then did nothing else except sorted tiles the whole time. She never came around to see how we were doing or if we needed help. We had to keep asking her to come over if we had a question and she didn't really offer too much. She never told us what color we could use, and kept coming over and collecting the extra tiles as we were working. She didn't help us finish up and left before we were done. It was super disappointing.

It's a small group with max 8 people so you definitely get attention from the instructor and our instructor came by to correct us and help at each step. You really learn the basics of throwing pottery through making a bowl and a cup and the instructor will help you with the pulls or course correct if you're something incorrectly. It's awesome that you can customize your pieces and don't be afraid to mess up! The instructor lets you take the pieces he makes if yours is ruined completely. At the end you can choose a glaze to fire your pieces with and then it's a 2-3 week wait until it's ready to pick up! Would definitely recommend for a group of friends or a fun date!

While it was fun, the works we saw were not much different from my girls could do on their own. Last year we discovered this art studio and from the very first drawing, we are amazed every time we see a new creation. We like that the class is 1.5 hours, enough time to run errands or take a break :). I really recommend Iryna and her studio, we are lucky to have this studio in our neighborhood.

I went with a friend, and even though I was running a few minutes behind, the setup was flexible enough that she was able to save a spot for me right next to her. Our instructor was fantastic, kind, funny, professional, and incredibly patient with everyone in the room. She made the process look effortless but was right there to help us whenever we needed it. We were given a few different options for what to create, and I chose to make a set of coasters. My only minor critique is the time management for the workshop. I wish we had a dedicated few minutes just to brainstorm and sketch out our designs before the actual crafting clock started ticking. Because brainstorming ate into our studio time, it cut it a little close at the end and I felt a bit rushed to finish--though my coasters still ended up turning out pretty great! Once you finish your piece, they kiln-fire and glaze it for you, and it's ready for pickup in about a week. Overall, it's a wonderful creative outlet and a perfect activity to do with friends. I'd definitely recommend it!
