We inquired directly with CD for our date and time and she guided us thru the booking process. There was a last minute mixup but CD made every effort to offer us a successfull party....and CD definitely delivered. On the day of our party, we arrived early to a wonderful birthday party setup in the outdoor back patio, decorated nook and and an intimate upstairs studio for our party guests. To be honest, the setup she provided was exactly how we prefer. We were able to bring in and display our offerings for our guests and the parents enjoyed themselves hanging outside while the kids roamed around and enjoyed their painting session upstairs in the studio. CD and her team did an amazing job in making sure our party was a success! You can not go wrong when it comes to art and we were right to go with CD's Art Studio! She said the teacher was on their way and I don't believe there is a teacher that actually showed up as she wasn't there at pick-up either. The 'outside play time' includes playing in the alleyway that is adjacent to a parking lot -safety is a huge concern. There are no toys provided for them to play outside - just a couple balls. My son's "art" was a bird box he painted - I don't know how they did this for 4 hours? This "art" was also not in any of the descriptions sent via email or found on Activity Hero. I wasted my money signing him up for 5 days, he only went the first day and didn't return.

Took two classes here and had very different experiences…read more The first class I went to was a resin workshop with Punky Power Productions and it was fun, engaging, and interactive. The instructor was very fun and really willing to help out and inspire. 5 stars. The second workshop i took, just this Sunday, was not great at all. It was a mosaic class and it might as well have been self led. The instructor gave us a brief 3-5 min tutorial on how to place the tiles and then did nothing else except sorted tiles the whole time. She never came around to see how we were doing or if we needed help. We had to keep asking her to come over if we had a question and she didn't really offer too much. She never told us what color we could use, and kept coming over and collecting the extra tiles as we were working. She didn't help us finish up and left before we were done. It was super disappointing.

I have gone to Open Studios in Campbell, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hill. The variety of the arts on display is impressive. The purpose is twofold - one for the pure enjoyment; the other is to purchase art. I recall seeing paintings, photography, Gourds, jewelry, and more. Also, I enjoy talking to selected artists about their work. This year I purchased three photographs and one abstract watercolor painting. Last year I purchased two photographs. The prior two years, I just enjoyed the art without purchasing. Some of the displays are situated indoors, while others are in the front or in the rear of homes.

Some artists only show at this event and some studios are rarely open, so this was a treat. Still two more weekends in May that they are showing.

When we walked in, she prepared us a very nice appetizer and wine table with candles. All of us sat down for half an hour, drank wine and relaxed. She let us know when we should start the class. I already picked the theme for our bday celebration painting and Katiya helped us to draw it. It was so much fun. Such a personalized service in a great friendly atmosphere. We all had so much laugh, and came home with our beautiful paintings. She also made tea for us so we can drink with our bday cake which was the highlight of the night. Thank you Katiya for creating an incredible night for us. We decided to do this once month since it was pretty memorable.
