When I decided to move downtown I quickly learned that purchasing a parking spot was an absolute…read morenecessity. Luckily I had many garages and flat lots to choose from. I chose a secure garage that is managed by Riverside Parking. I was told when I purchased the spot that entry into the garage required the use of a garage door opener and that the garage was kept secure. Choosing this option made this garage more expensive by about $15 per month than many of the surrounding garages. While the garage is clean, has security cameras, and is manned by an attendent during very limited morning hours, the fact of the matter is that Riverside Parking actually REQUIRES that the garage doors be left wide open and unsecured from early in the morning until at least 6pm. This causes people who aren't actually monthly parkers to freely use the garage and allows anyone to just walk in and out of the garage. However, despite this, when I look around at the other garages in the area mine is still totally covered, the most secure during the overnight hours, the cleanest, and has the best security cameras. The Riverside office staff is also always great about getting me my invoices and receipts. So, despite the fact that I really wish they would secure the garage 24/7 I still think they are A-OK.

Parking can be found at meters as well as a paid lot (use the mobile app). There's also street parking that is walking distance to the Marketplace. Minus Hazel & Hunt and the Craftery, the Marketplace has primarily become a spot for restaurants - but shopping can be found right outside the space. Dog friendly area and plenty of families during the daytime hours. Construction underway with more retail space planned.

Be sure and explore all the way from Main to Market streets and then all up and down Market for several blocks there are additional shops, restaurants, hotels and bars. A fun festive spot to enjoy on a date, with friends or cruising by yourself.

I almost don't want to write this review, because this is one of my best kept secrets. It's my…read morego-to parking garage anytime I need to be downtown on a weekday before 6pm. It's easy to find, just right next to the downtown YMCA. The entrance is at second Street and Guthrie. There is a light, which makes it easy to turn in from all directions. The parking is by far the cheapest I've found in town. The rates did just go up, but that's not a big deal because honestly, where else can you park downtown for two dollars? ($1 for 3 hours if you're a YMCA member) Being on the outskirts of downtown, you are in for a little bit of a walk to reach your final destination. From the garage to the Second Street Bridge/Yum Center is about a half a mile. To the Kentucky Center, or the other cool things down W. Main St. is about a mile. The garage usually has a parking attendant. They except credit card. And there are the occasional times when there is no attendant present, but they just lift the gate. This equals free parking! The garage has 4 levels. If you need to park and go into the Brown school, there is a sky bridge on the third floor that leads to the school. The garage is fairly well lit. There are stairs on two corners of the garage. There's also an elevator if you choose to go the lazy route. If you do choose the elevator, and it's early in the morning or chilly - be prepared, there's a real good chance there might be a homeless person in the area at the bottom of the elevator. (This is the main office entrance for the Metro YMCA Association office). Having grown up at the YMCA, then working there during high school and college, i've been in this garage all times of day. For 4:30am - 11pm and I've never felt unsafe or been hassled.

I get it that parking garages serve a need, but this one annoys me. It takes FOREVER to park here. It isn't terribly wide and each and every turn is super tight and somewhat blind. You can't zip up a few floors and park. Assuming you are lucky to even get in on the 3rd. I often find myself circling for 10 minutes and parking up high. The killer part is the price. 1 hour: $3.50, 4+ hours $8.75 A meter right next to the parking garage is $1/hour. Sure you have to feed it every 2 hours, but damn that makes a huuuge difference. The all day parking at most of the surrounding ground lots are 5 or 6 bucks and one of them is 7. We are in Louisville, downtown or not, a city where our prices are almost always so reasonable. 8.75 just doesn't count as that for me. Ouch.

The inside is beautiful, spacious, and well maintained. My school hosted our graduation here, and it was an excellent choice. Getting there was easy because we stayed at a hotel directly across the street, and our room even overlooked the venue. I didn't have to worry about parking as I parked at the hotel and walked across the street, but I believe there is either street parking or garage parking available. Outside, my school had several photo props set up, which made for a fun experience before and after the ceremony. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized. There were staff members throughout the venue directing graduates and guests, so I never felt confused about where to go. They even had people available to help graduates get dressed properly and make sure everything looked perfect before taking pictures. Although there were nearly 1,000 graduates, the ceremony moved along surprisingly well and didn't feel overly long. The seating for spectators looked comfortable, and it seemed like there was a good view of the stage from every section. The venue was also very comfortable, I never felt too hot or too cold during the ceremony. The graduates' seating was nice, and I appreciated that there were large TV screens displaying each graduate as they crossed the stage so family and friends could easily see them. The stage setup looked great, and staff members were there to assist graduates as they walked up and down the steps, which made everything feel safe and organized. The school offered both a morning and an afternoon ceremony, and I attended the afternoon one. Everything appeared to have been cleaned and reset before our ceremony began, and the event ran smoothly from start to finish. There was no food served at the event, but overall, my graduation was a wonderful experience, and I thought this venue did an excellent job hosting such a large event.

The policy is apparently no customer-supplied parts, period. I understand not wanting to use customer parts for more complex repairs, but for a simple tune-up like spark plugs and coils, it really shouldn't have been a problem with genuine OEM Motorcraft parts. It felt like it was purely about marking up the parts themselves rather than any real concern. For something as basic and straightforward as plugs and coils, this rule is ridiculous and frustrating. Ended up doing it myself. If you're capable of handling a basic tune-up yourself and just want to pay for labor to save time, this isn't the place their inflexible policy will waste your time instead.

NEVER was it mentioned that the vacuums automatically shut off @ 8. Ok, so I'm vacuuming & tried to start it again & it wouldn't work. I looked up to see the 2 employees leaving. I announced that I wasn't finished, hoping that they would restart it for me. I am Long overdue for a hip replacement so I don't move very quickly. I am an emotional person & I was angry. I needed it done by Wed but it was supposed to rain so.... I had worked all day (bad hip), hadn't eaten & was just beside myself. Idk the guy's name that stopped & listen to me act stupid but he Did listen to me. I was trying to find a Corporate phone # but was told it was Family owned. He told me when to call the next day & who to speak to. Also, during our convo, he said he asked the Girl if she went to let All of the customers know that they would be shutting down @ 8. She said she did...BUT she didn't say Anything to me! I said it wasn't true & called her a liar bc she Did Lie! I Can't Stand liars!!! Anyway, I left very upset, All things considered. I called during the time I was told & got the vm. It was long & All over the place (I'm also attention deficit to the Extreme). No one called me back.... I live in a condo so I thought maybe I could drive up my sidewalk, use an extension cord & finish the job. This would be an ordeal in itself, as I am in a lot of pain & as stated before, I don't move very fast. It turned out that I got off work (the next day) earlier than expected & decided to run back by. Oddly, it was about the same time as last time. I pulled around back, I apologized for my behavior, hoping to redeem myself. The guy said the vacuums were on so I went to finish up. He Did (very nicely) come warn us we had about 10 minutes. I thought I could finish but time ran out. I only needed one more section. The Girl is pulling cones in or whatever they do, I guess when they close. I Nicely asked if I could just have a few more minutes.. She Very Abruptly & Loudly said They Close At 8! Not, "I'm sorry ma'am but we close @ 8". She was RUDE so I retaliated & tried to explain my (health) situation. She could give a Holey crap! She argued with me. She threatened me. I called again & got the manager. He was just as rude. He said that she was their #1 employee. Ha! That's a joke. I asked for a refund. He declined stating that I paid for the car wash, which I got & that the vacuum was free & I got that. Whatever, the whole thing was freaking ridiculous! He actually told me that I was not allowed to come back. Lol. WHY THE HELL WOULD I DO THAT??!! After the way I was treated! Unfreakinbelievable! Anyway, I'm sure the good 'ol karma bus will come around. But WOW!

Pulled in for a wash at 7:40 closes at 8:00 (20 min) before closing. Very rude when we pulled up and as soon as we pulled up to vacuum out car (7:45) he shut them off and another lady was already using it. Turned two other gentleman away for car washes at 7:45 said they were closed. Asked to turn vacuum back on and got sprayed with a water hose. We purchase multiple pkgs. for the both of us and give away many as gifts during holidays. We won't be!!!
