This isn't the absolute worst place to tan ever. I've been to pretty much all of them in a 15 mile…read moreradius and this one is one I try to avoid but it isn't horrible. The facility is usually clean and MOST of the time, I don't have problems with the sunless tanning machines. My biggest problem with this location is that when certain employees are working, I get a 25-30 minute lecture about why I need to buy their products. You know those people at the mall who try and grab you and convince you that their products are the absolute best? Yeah, kinda like that but more annoying. I'd say 4-5 times I've come in and one of the two sunless tanning machines weren't working or my spray tan got jacked up because someone didn't do something right. This place is too pricy for mistakes like this frequently.

I don't know the particulars but they use to be Malibu Tan. You could join, pay a monthly fee or purchase minutes, to include prepaid minutes. Not only is PBT extremely overpriced for their facilities and services but they no longer will honor my Malibu Tan minutes which were worth a couple hundred dollars. When they bought Malibu Tan I was told our minutes would be honored with the new company no problem. I was never told I had a time limit or expiration date! When I went the other day, I said "It sure would have been nice if someone had informed me that they were set to expire so I could have used them or transferred to another member." I was told by some unfriendly irritated employee that "tanners were notified". Not if they didn't come in often because it' was winter and they were embracing it and it's pale skin. They didn't call or email me and I'm thinking of taking this a step further. I think what they did was illegal and if so (my friend is in law school) I plan to get my money back. This is so unprofessional and dishonest. I know you've lost many loyal customers because of this as I've read other reviews. same shock and utter disappointment I had and still have. Greed is what ends up ending little rinky dinky places like this. AND yes, at this location they are like door-to-door sales men or a used car salesman pushing their lotions and more over priced stuff onto you. No means no! I was weaseled out of money this way though it was some deal on buying more tanning credits (when they were still Malibu but some employees remained) in another unreal occurrence with this establishment. This is the only place near me that I have time for so I'm paying a small fortune to tan here JUST for the next month or two.

Ashley A, the opening shift counter person is absolutely awful to deal with! She was completely disrespectful and rude and probably about half my age and has no idea how to deal with a customer. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and advise you steer clear! They do not give refunds according to their policy. However, they also don't inform you that even though their hours say that they are open until 8:00 p.m. they close the spray tanning machine down at 7:30 so they can clean it and be out of there by 8:00 p.m. Due to the fact that I live and work in Houston, I am not able to get there any earlier than 7:30 p.m. and am told that I can't get a refund even though I was never informed that I had to be there before 7:30 p.m. to do the tanning in the spray tanning booth. Now I'm not able to use a membership that I paid $80 for and only tanned once and they refuse to give me a refund. This is very poor business practice in my opinion and if you value your time and money, I would definitely look elsewhere for tanning services!

I've been to many tanning facilities that are far more upscale than this one and have never encountered this. I'm not a teenager. I've owned my own bed and have never heard such. She said that products purchased off site could be counterfeit and likely have had alcohol added to the bottle to increase the column. I order my lotions directly from the manufacturer. Furthermore, can you imagine rubbing down with a heavily alcohol laden product and getting into a level 4 tanning bed. Does not sound like fun to me. This, in my opinion is a way to make additional money. I do not recommend this place.
