We stumbled upon this little gem in New Milford and couldn't be happier ! Such attentive friendly staff and cute decor as well. My husband had the calamari appetizer and I had the cauliflower app which were both delicious. We followed up with the lamb chops and we experimented with a few tasty cocktails. Can't wait to re-visit this yummy Indian spot, we highly recommend it and it's well worth giving a try. read more

There's an Indian deli ten minutes from my house, so I haven't been to Tandoori Flames in a while, and that was my mistake. This place is amazing. A small and intimate building, excellent service from knowledgeable waitstaff, a menu with plenty of options for any diet, and -- of course, any restaurant's raison d'être -- the food! Bright colors and plenty of fresh spices fill every dish with flavor. Plus, if mild and medium aren't going to cut it and you want it spicy, you don't just get "white people spicy." You get the real deal. (Don't worry, it was perfectly manageable.) Add a side of perfectly-cooked naan and you've got a wonderful meal. That deli near my house is great in a pinch, but if you're looking for authentic Indian food in the area, Tandoori Flames is simply the best one around. read more

We've been away a bit and looked forward to a return visit here last week. Alas, we came away disappointed, and here's why. Our main dishes were lackluster, bland (something that should never be with good Indian dishes). The Tandoori Meat Platter was rather tasteless, and we found the Chicken Masala to be little on the chewy side. Not at all what we remembered. The Mulligatawny soup was murky, not at all the broth flavor and consistency we have come to expect. We would prefer to believe we were there on an off night because we like this restaurant. And the sauces with the pappadam (raita, mango chutney) were absolutely delicious. Still, the service is rather hit or miss -- we had long waits for dishes and then were served too many at once. We hate to write such negative comments, but that's what we experienced here most recently. We're not about to give up, however -- we'll be back in a few weeks with fingers crossed. read more

My wife and I came here a few times this year and have not been disappointed. The food is extremely tasty with great flavors. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes, they even showed us how to properly eat the Panipuri appetizer. I do recommend making a reservation, and if you decide to come on a weekend, be prepared to wait for a bit. However, you will not be disappointed with the food and service. This was our go to place until they started to skimp on orders. Butter chicken should have more than four bites of chicken and the sauce was so watered down. Was starving after work and craved Indian food. While there's a good amount in the Danbury area, I have yet to try this New Milford spot. The flavor of the chicken tikka masala was on point and very delicious. The spice was a bit higher than I requested I feel like but manageable. For the price I paid, I feel like I did not get a lot of chicken pieces, it was mostly sauce as you can tell from the pic. Overall, it was a delicious meal. read more

Fantastic food and friendly service. I've driven by dozens of times. Every time I go by I would think to myself I've got to try this place. Sunday evening at 8 pm my wife and I called to make sure they were open ( open till 9). I can't believe that I've been missing out on excellent food at a great price. Our server Pragtha( sorry about the spelling) knew all the fine details about the items on the menu. My wife had a vegetarian dish and I had the lamb. They were both perfectly cooked and good sized portions. In fact, we had to take some of the meal home. The restaurant was very clean and there was music playing in the background but at a very low volume. Did I mention they had a bar? We will be returning in the very near future. AMAZING! We ate from their special menu and had some amazing pani puri. The lamb chops with mint/coriander/yogurt was THE BEST lamb I have ever had (and I love lamb). We have lived in Edison NJ, New York City and the greater Boston area. We moved to New Milford two weeks ago and just resigned ourselves to not having access to Indian food. We were so wrong! Two thumbs up for Tandoori Flames! This restaurant was taken over by new owners at the end of November, and they certainly have a great thing going. The ambiance is calming with dim lighting , candles on the table and soothing Indian music playing in the background. The owners and all of the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent--the chef really know his stuff! Each dish is flavorful, authentic and not at all greasy. The menu has vegan, vegetarian and meat options available. They are also very accommodating with food allergies and a member of our dining party had a tree nut allergy. The spiciness level of the food can also be adjusted to suit all palates. If you have not yet been to Tandoori Flames, it is most definitely worth the trip! read more

I'm literally writing this in there parking lot right now because me and my boyfriend just had they literal best experience here. Ngl the outside of the restaurant looked questionable, once you go inside it's a whole 180. Their restaurant was gorgeous on the inside, wish I thought to take pictures because it was so beautiful. The atmosphere was great and welcoming. We ended up sitting at the bar and our bartender/waitress was the greatest, she was so kind and truly made the experience. The drinks were phenomenal, wish I had remembered her name so that I can recommend her beaches she really snap with our drinks, both visually and flavory. The food was absolutely spectacular, I've never seen my boyfriend eat so many veggies till we came here hahaha and they even gave us heated plates which was so sweet because my boyfriend and I were sharing our food. To see every little detail come together and have a perfect experience is special so I high recommend this location and we will be sure to come back asap! read more

I've removed a star for the very choppy and chaotic service. Even to order a masala tea, the staff needed to check with the kitchen. And it arrived after 40 minutes of deliberations as to whether they could serve us tea or not. The food was ample in quantity as we had enough to take home for another full meal. But it wasn't the best we've had, which I still put down to starting or growing pains of a new business. And given the rave reviews, I feel they have so much more potential and can do so much better!!! So, we hope to be back to try them on a better day! read more

Very disappointed. Just moved to New Milford from NY and this was one of the first restaurants I ordered take out from since it is my favorite. Me and my family ordered about $80 worth of food and every portion wasn't even able to feed 2 out of the 4 ppl. The $22 chicken tikka was basically a container of sauce and about 4 small pieces of chicken and the same with the lamb entree we ordered. We called to ask if there was mistake with the portion size and the person said there's only one size and didn't offer any helpful solution. The mango lassi didn't taste fresh and more like a store bought mix. Saddest $80 I've spent in a while. read more

Incredible! If you like spicy food, Indian food or just good food you have to come here. It's not much to look at from the outside... Or for that matter the inside, but the food is amazing. So much so that I usually eat here and order another meal to go. Check out the flavored Rice's. Lemon rice, coconut rice, yogurt rice.... We've been huge fans of this restaurant for a few years now. And although we didn't stop in for awhile during peak COVID, the owners still remember us and ask after our family. Their food quality and customer service are consistently excellent. I'm used to Indian restaurants in the States being very mild (vs those in Southeast Asia--or even London!). But first time I ordered "spicy" shrimp tikka masala here, I was pleasantly surprised (and extremely grateful to have ordered the side of Raita!). It was like ordering from a restaurant in Singapore. Perfection. Tip: If you don't live close by and your Naan seems a little soggy, just throw it in the oven for a few minutes and you're GTG! read more

"The perfect meal" in multiple iterations. We've tried a bunch of different entrees, with continued success. We got food with family from New Jersey and they were equally excited. We split our time between NYC and Sherman and Tandoori Flames has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat. Vegan and Vegetarian options are scarce around here, so it was a delight to find such delicious, fresh, and expertly prepared authentic Indian cuisine in New Milford. The staff is so welcoming, friendly and attentive - whether dining in or sitting a few minutes at the bar waiting for take out, we always enjoy their company, attention and service. The menu is extensive and varied, with plenty of vegetarian/vegan choices, available at whatever spice level suits you (3.5 chilis is my jam, the heat is intense but so flavorful! Most will be satisfied with 2 chilis). The breads are hot and fresh, chutneys and sauces accompany perfectly prepared dishes packed with super fresh ingredients and spices. We got this for takeout on Sunday. It was the first time my fiancé and I have had together in a week due to my work schedule and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately each entree we got was disgustingly, cloyingly sweet. It was almost like the chef dropped a full bag of sugar into each of their sauces. Neither of us could finish because of the sweetness and it was just really disappointing. Since moving to Litchfield County, we have been looking for a go-to Indian restaurant. Decided to try this place for takeout recently. I don't know if they were having an off night, or if someone made a mistake, but all of our food was sickeningly sweet. We got Navratan korma, malai kofta, and butter chicken. I love cardamom, but all I could taste was cardamom and overwhelming sweetness. It was like having dessert. Not what I expected at all. The only tasty part of the meal was the garlic naan. read more
