Samosas and garlic naan

Delicious presentation of all dishes with so many levels of flavors. Good attentive service and certainly look forward to my next visit.

Athithi offers an amazing cultural experience into the authentic, diverse flavors of India. Incredible food and service alike. Their cocktails and food are SO delicious. Notably, their executive chef, Hemant Mathur, is best known as a tandoor master of traditional clay ovens, and the first Indian chef in the U.S. to earn a Michelin star and retain it across two New York City restaurants! For appetizers, I recommend the achari mushrooms - a bit spicy and very flavorful. The samosa tasting was one of my favorites. Three selections: cheese and jalapeño, potatoes and peas, and lamb. I had the entrees of chicken tikka masala and the Athithi mixed grill which were both incredible. The mixed grill is a great way to try a variety. It comes with lamb chop, salmon tika, grilled shrimp and chicken. Served with rice, and I highly suggest ordering a side of the garlic naan to pair with it.

All I can say is wow! What a nice restaurant! To start off, it's a very welcoming experience, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We decided to try 2 lunch specials one chicken korma and one chicken tikka masala. Both came with rice and naan. The tikka masala was so rich and delicious. One of the best versions I've had. The chicken korma was outstanding! The sauce was so creamy and quite memorable! The naan bread was the fluffiest bread I've ever tasted, Just perfect! This restaurant is pretty and the food is spectacular! I can't wait to come back and try something else.

Athithi Indian Cuisine, which was opened by the first Indian Chef to receive a Michelin star Chef Hermant Mathur. The menu features 4 authentic dishes from each of 6 regions across india. What we ordered: -crispy okra salad -radga chaat -prawn balchao -pudhina (mint) paratha -goat biriyani -kerela shrimp moilee -the Gemini -the jade My favorites were the prawn balchao which was a goan style shrimp and the kerala shrimp moilee made with a creamy coconut and tomato sauce. Cowner Prince has been in the business for nearly 2 decades and has a passion for bringing good food to great people. I loved how the menu featured classics, but also new items that I had never heard of. I went on a Tuesday night and there were plenty of patrons (regulars and new customers) and a ton of takeout orders. The interior was warm and inviting too! I hope you check this spot out and follow me for more! IG: @angies_foodie_adventures

Second time trying Athithi, this time for takeout. The food was as good as the first try. I'm a confirmed "mild" based on their spice levels as even this was a little spicy for me. Their sauces are tasty, but a little too watery for my preference. I've got plenty of leftovers, and I'm fairly certain the sauces will taste richer upon reheating.

This is our third time here, and we can't stop talking about the food and drinks. The quality is out standing. Tonight we finally added dessert and it did not disappoint. You will love it!

Botanical Gardens, and Ed in the background. A perfectly balanced and refreshing drink, highly recommended.

I've never seen such a bustling Indian eatery in Connecticut! This one hits the mark in terms of decor, ambiance, and service. We walked in and sat at the bar to avoid the small wait. Our bar keep, Ed, prepared the most masterful drink (we had to keep ordering them) called Botanical Gardens. It's a must try! The food was also tasty and the menu creative, with things I've never seen on other Indian menus. Try the items featuring the lotus, they were great. The lasani gobi was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside with a deliciously balanced sauce. We will return!

We were so excited to dine at Athithi, especially when we heard that they had 2 Michelin star chefs at the helm! The dining room was really nice, and our server was attentive. We enjoyed everything we ate, with the stars for us being the Lasooni kebab and lamb kofta curry meatballs! Everything was so flavorful, and they were really accommodating with giving us our ideal spice levels in each dish. We also were able to try Indian beer for the first time! Definitely a cool spot with something on the menu for everyone!

Black pepper Chicken, chicken korma, tikka masala over rice all. excellent!

Went back to try more food! This time I took pics of the food and drink before I started to devour it! My absolute favorite spot in Wilton.

I have travelled to many states in the USA & always visit Indian restaurants. Many being much better these days than 20 years ago, & a lot of them still under performing with the quality. I much prefer the authentic flavor & gravitate towards the Northern Indian style. Vedas, on Westport Ave, Norwalk, is the place to go to get that food satisfaction. I must say, their food is excellent quality. Fantastic flavor, fantastic portions & fantastic service. Orders to go is recommended, as very limited eat in space. Be very careful though, as their food is extremely addictive. I felt that i had to write this review, as i do want other curry lovers to not be missing out on this brilliant experience. Everything on the menu is great, but i do recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh, as that is my all time favorite. Their lunch time specials are also great value, so check that out also.

My husband and I both got tikka masala dishes. He got chicken and I got the shrimp. In hindsight I wish I had tried the Saag just so we could have tasted a different sauce. However, the tikka masala was truly the best we've ever had. And we are always chasing excellent food so we've had our share. The dumplings were great but we would likely opt for a different appetizer as they didn't really blow us away. The service though is really what puts this place over the top. We were in a bit of a time crunch so I'm disappointed we couldn't stay longer and try dessert so we will definitely be back when we can make it down to SoNo again.

Service felt a bit understaffed, our first order took a while, and our second order never arrived. They did try to make it right, but by then we had already been there a couple of hours and the kids were definitely not going to keep sitting and waiting. We also had a small hiccup with the chai tea: it comes unsweetened with sugar on the side, but the sugar was forgotten at first. When it did arrive, there was no spoon and not quite enough packets. The chai itself was decent once we could actually sweeten it. The momos were surprisingly flavorful on their own, with a nice curry spice kick that made them enjoyable even without dipping sauce. The sauces they come with are also tasty, just be careful, as one has a pretty strong heat that lingers. We also had the chicken garlic soup, which was quite tasty with fried garlic chips on top. Overall, good food but service felt a bit overwhelmed that night.

We have eaten here before, and on every occasion we were very happy with the food, but on this latest visit after the management change, it was not good. The appetizers were good, not spectacular, but good, the naan was par (but you really need to work hard to screw up naan), but the main courses were really not good especially when you consider the price. My girlfriend had Chicken Tikka Masala, and while the taste was ok, there were a whopping 5 pieces of Chicken in it - at $20. I got the 1/2 Tandoori chicken. 1 - there was very little Tandoori paste on the chicken. 2 - the outside was not seared as it should be for Tandoori chicken. 3 - their idea of a 1/2 chicken was 2 leg / thigh combos, and small ones at that. Again - for $20. The only thing they have going for them is that the staff is very nice and attentive. Otherwise, they will seriously need to end the attempt to cut corners and do a much better job if they want to survive. We will not be back.

It took awhile for us to get our drink orders in, and then another long while to put our food orders in. And the time it took for us to get our momos (over 40 minutes) made us wonder if they were making the dumplings at that moment. It took a long time for us to get our food and I think by the time we got all of our food it was about 1.5 hours, which was very surprising. The slower food prep and service would make me hesitant to dine here again. But the food itself was pretty good. The tikka masala was more on the liquidy side, but the flavors were there, though the chicken was dark meat. The chicken vindaloo was on the spicier side. Everyone enjoyed the chicken korma. The garlic naan came out fresh but was not as warm by the time we got all of the dishes. Overall we thought that the food here is solid and our friends loved this place. We were just surprised at the amount of waiting here as the dishes came out with a trickle. The food here is more expensive than other Indian places and there is a good amount of care put into the food. It is nice that the rice came complimentary with the entrees, and the Indian thin crackers are great too.
