We have gotten takeout from Jaipore so many times in the past and I was absolutely obsessed with their malai kofta lunch special. I was always curious about their dining experience and were so happy we finally got to dine here. Our friends gave us a gift card for Jaipore since they know how much we love Indian food and we're so happy we got to enjoy a nice date night here. We ordered all kinds of delicious goodies, started off with a lychee martini and a Negroni. Lychee martini was fire. Loved our samosas, meal and finished off with rasmalai for dessert. Been here for their Sunday buffet lunch, their occasional dinner buffet (I think the first Sunday night of each month) and regular dining experiences -- have NEVER had a bad meal! Five star dining experience here! Beautiful dining ambience and beautifully presented food. Again, never had a bad meal here, in any way. Nicely priced menu as well. They 'should' implement a dress code! FYI: They have a private room available for rent upstairs. We've used it once for an occasion and may rent it again. The naan was fresh and probably the Samosas. Mango gobi starter was ok but nothing great just a change from a gobi Manchurian. Ordered the paneer butter masala and dal makhni but it was sub par and looks like reheated from the day prior and served made with tomato purée or paste with some chili powder sprinkled. The dal makhani seemed less dal but with a lot of rajma thrown in. (the dal has a handful of rajma but in this case was looking for the dal itself!) Dal makhni has a distinct taste of made per usual but this was just tomato purée heated up no flavor no coriander nothing. this place caters to the largely local CT area crowd that probably eats mild tasteless bland Indian food or doesn't know what a good simple and flavorful Indian food is. The restaurant now seems totally run down and since the window tables were taken on the right side they were actually trying to seat us to the left of the entryway a dirty corner next to storage closet. Recall their food being pretty decent many years ago and ambiance but this was pretty abysmal. We met friends for dinner here a few days ago as this spot was midway drive from NJ and CT. Wouldn't go there ever again and quite embarrassed for our guests and had to apologize picking this place. Wish we'd gone to Danbury or Stamford but we're trying to avoid i95 traffic on a weeknight. read more

Normally I'm not a fan of Indian food but my experience tonight was OUTSTANDING. The 1947 Indian craft beer on tap was fantastic with the Lamb Saag. Cool and modern place inside, not overly lit, appropriate music. Friendly and attentive family runs the place. Excellent menu. read more

Stopped here for lunch which passing through the area! The employees were so nice and welcoming and we loved the ambiance and views. The mango lassis were a great starter! The garlic naan was excellent and complemented our entrees very well. I will admit I was disappointed with the dal makhani, which is my favorite Indian dish and my go-to when ordering from a new Indian restaurant. This one was loaded with peppers which I am not accustomed to and did not enjoy. I spent most of my time trying to pick around them. Spouse enjoyed the paneer butter masala very much! This place is a hidden gem right off the road. Hard to find places with this level of service, food quality, and beauty. The interior was a great surprise, really living up to the "royal" part of the name, and the exterior made this even more so, with it looking like a home more than anything. We visited Jaipore while staying with my parents in Somers and it was delicious! This restaurant is located in a cool historical house. The restaurant website has a history section talking all about it which is really cool! We made reservations for 5pm which is when it opened. We were warmly greeted and brought to a table. We perused the menu and ordered quite a few dishes and drinks. We got veggie samosas and mango chicken as appetizers and we loved them both! The samosas were delicious and the sauce on the mango chicken was so flavorful. My parents also ordered some delicious lentil soup. Entree wise we got chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, a basmati rice dish, and the chicken malai kabob. Everyone LOVED their dishes. I've been eating here for about 15 years and I really missed the buffet after COVID. I know they restarted buffets on Sunday only and I finally went yesterday. Granted it was more expensive than it used to be but it was WELL WORTH the additional amount. It was AMAZING and there were so many choices (many I've never seen). Every dish I tried was fantastic!! I live near Jaipore and have eaten there as long as it has been an Indian restaurant. I've eaten there for pleasure and for business functions. My experience is that it is very variable in quality. It has, at times in the past, been superb. I took a long time friend there yesterday. That experience has convinced me not to patronize Jaipore again. Our meal consisted of sparkling water, garlic pan, two orders of samosas, chicken tikka and tandoori chicken. The samosas were OK, the garlic pan was tasteless and both chicken dishes were bone dry and flavorless. The restaurant was nearly empty and the waiter, while attentive when he was present, had to be found to get service. The bill for this minimal edible fair was nearly $100.00 not including the tip. The Sunday lunch buffet at this special Indian restaurant is fabulous! The lovely old Victorian house fills up fast, so try to arrive right at noon to get one of the best tables (by the windows). Terrific selection of savory dishes (I thought they were spiced perfectly, but my husband thought they needed a bit more heat) and three dessert options. I think this restaurant is under new management because it was not as good the last time I went as it had been the last few years. The menu is much shorter and has different items in it. The sauces are most likely premade (they could be homemade, but still made ahead of time) but you cannot customize the spice level of the sauces like you used to be able to. They come however the menu says. The salad was just some raw vegetables and a yogurt sauce. The service was extremely slow. I think we were almost there for an hour and a half and we never saw our waiter again after our food was ordered. It was pretty dimly lit and the music was loud. It was more like a bar than a restaurant. The bathroom was not the cleanest and was a little gross. The naan and my entree were good tasting. It would be better if I could pick my own spice level at a restaurant instead of being forced to eat it however they prepare. Overall, not as good of an experience as we have had in the past. I probably will find a new Indian restaurant to frequent. read more

Jaipore Royal Indian Cuisine has been a staple in my restaurant repertoire for many, many years because the food has always been consistently well-prepared and delicious. I particularly like masala bhindi and tandoori chicken. And you can top off your meal with a delicious dessert such as Qajar Halwa! The service is professional and efficient. They have a nice bar if if you want a place to sit to have a drink while you're waiting for your take away dinner. We had been wanting to try this restaurant and finally had dinner here. It was absolutely excellent! The service was wonderful. Arun was our waiter and was so kind and helpful. He gave us great recommendations for appetizers and dessert (we loved the mango gobi and the kulfi!) The other staff members that helped with serving during our dinner were so friendly and sweet too. We visited this restaurant yesterday for dinner. We all loved the ambience and the food. The food is top-notch quality and I could see that they didn't scrimp on the ingredients, including the spices. We had ordered Chicken Chettinad, Chingari (prawn) Malai Curry, Chicken Biryani, and Naan and Aloo (potato) Paratha. The food don't disappoint. Try their fresh lime soda. It goes well with the food. And if you're adventurous, try their mixed pickle and mango chutney. They have a limited dessert menu and we tried the Malai Kulfi and Rasmalai. We weren't disappointed. The service was fast and the people were courteous. We were served complimentary papadam. Even though this restaurant is located a bit far from where I live (Dover Plains), the trip is worth it and I highly recommend this Indian restaurant. It's a cut above the rest! read more

This place is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and I drive more than 40 minutes from White Plains because it is that good and stands out from other Indian restaurants I have been to! I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the Indian Food at this restaurant-it is TOP notch all around. The building is an older large house which has a lot of charm off of Route 22 not really near anything else--a bit secluded. The service is extremely friendly and kind--they are very attentive to your needs and you can tell they are working very hard to make sure you have a pleasant meal. You can also bring your own wine for a nominal corkage fee. The food is the absolute star here-every dish I have had has been delicious and some of the best Indian Food I have had in the NY area. I like to eat generally vegetarian when I go to Indian Food and I have loved all their saag dishes, their Aloo Gobi and they have an amazing fried cauliflower appetizer dish which is very special and unique with a great sauce and extremely crispy. The portions are generous and we normally have leftovers when we finish our meal-do not forget to get the Garlic or Onion Naan which is prepared to perfection with the perfect amount of garlic and/or onion depending on which one you choose! Give this place a try and you will want to go back again I can guarantee. :) read more

We have been eating at Jaipore for many years. The menu has changed from a massive selection based upon regions of India to a smaller selection of well prepared items. The weekend buffet is a great option for sampling a variety of delicacies. When we first began eating at Jaipore the wait staff reflected the Royal Indian title with formal service. The current service is casual with less attention given to detail. Our waiter during our last visit had limited command of English and was unable to recommend or explain ingredients in the dishes. It is still a good option for quality Indian cuisine. read more

Ordered take out while in the area visiting family. Very impressed with the customer service here. We were with our pregnant family member and asked if they could bring our food out to the car, which they kindly and quickly said yes. The food was packaged very well and everything was hot when we opened the containers at home. I really enjoyed the flavors of the butter chicken and the spinach and chickpea dish! We also had a lamb dish that was flavorful and a tad spicy. We came just before 1 on a Sunday. The buffer is over at 3pm. The samosa and deep fried green vegetable and chicken tandoori and peas with cheese are really good. There is also triangular nan-like bread at the chickpea dish that is chewy and slightly sweet that is really addictive. For a buffet costing just a few cents below 30, the restaurant is quite full and people are coming in after us. The masala tea is not as smooth as we like but there is ice cream and rice kafir that are really nice because they are not so sweet. read more
