Really really good, I asked for medium. But got on the mild side maybe the cook is used to fraidy cats...so make sure you tell the waitress to make it more on the medium hot side...but flavor was really good just missed the kick! Best Indian food in Manteca hands down. Spicy butter chicken is so good. We get it at least 2 times a month.

Love Indian food and this little place is quite good. I do wish they had more options but what they do have is very yummy. I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala(Butter Chicken) and it was good, could use a bit more of a kick though. The Tandoori Chicken was definitely their best dish. This is my favorite Indian spot locally. I normally would have to travel at least an hour away to get good Indian food! The staff greets you and brings you naan right away( garlic is the best.) The food is always hot and doesn't look like it sits out like most buffets. Everything is labeled which is very nice ! One of the best butter chicken ive tasted! read more

I have for years been hoping for an Indian food restaurant to be opened in town. Wish come true :) One word to describe my first visit ... Impressed! Placed a to-go order of butter chicken, rice, samosas & garlic naan. Apart from the naan being a little rubbery (could be due to it sitting as I picked up a bit late) everything else was superb!! While I was waiting to pay, I observed the ambience and have to say that it's a nicely sized dining area and I noticed the service was attentive. Additionally what caught my most attention is there is a lunch buffet offered. Very common for this type of food, so I look forward to checking out the other food options. From a pricing perspective, for the quality I experienced it is very reasonably priced. As well as they are nicely sized portions. I had more than enough for a second serving for another meal later! read more

Finally a nice Indian food restaurant in Manteca. $8.99 buffet lunch is very good. Tandoori chicken, chicken curry are my 2 favs. Occasionally they have goat curry which is awesome. I'm not a vegetarian but I have tried many of the various vegetarian dishes and they're all really good. There's always a couple of sweet dishes for desert. We love the hot sweet tea and the garlic naan bread both of which are extra. I believe the plain naan comes with the price of the buffet. There is also Beer from India. We eat there about once a week. Highly recommended. read more

The butter chicken was really savory and truly melted in my mouth. The naan kept coming and I could only get down one plate at the buffet. Next time I'm in, I'm going to sample the lassi. The food was fresh and tasty, 3 desserts and good sauces, and the staff are all really nice, though can be a bit slow at times. I love Tandoori Grill! We have come here about 4 times so I have no idea why I've not written a review yet, so here goes! This is one of our favorite Indian restaurants around. It's not much to look at from the outside, looks like an old pizza place or something, but inside is the best Indian Buffet around. Everything is fresh and bursting with flavor. Great price too. The guy behind the counter is very efficient in taking the orders. Their vegetarian biryani is awesome - and couple it with kofta curry - the Combo becomes superb ! They also have lunch buffet from Mon-Fri. But be sure to go around 1-2 pm (it's available till 3 - but food gets finished before that). I am regular customer there. read more

Went here for the first time last night and this restaurant has great food and great service. Everything tasted amazing and fresh. Will highly recommend this place to all my friends and will probably stop by here again tonight because of how much I enjoyed it last night. My mom and i had passed this place a couple of times and finally made it over (excited to see if we had a good Indian lunch buffet in town.) When we did we came for the lunch buffet. ($8.99) Cheaper than Sansar over in Tracy and had plenty of great food to choose from. Once we entered we were greeted immediately with a hello/smile and told we could sit anywhere we like. I asked if we could have garlic nann and she confirmed with me that it was $1 extra, totally fine, and we still got regular nann with it. Once we got to the buffet it looked like a nice variety of fresh foods to choose from (salads, deserts, veggies, chicken, and goat dishes) The chicken tikka was a bit dry but still had good flavor and the goat/rice dish was nice and spicy. The veggies in sauce were REALLY good and even the spinach with cheese was better than i thought it would be. A little while after we sat down the nann arrived hot and fresh. I wouldn't say it was my favorite garlic nann but it was good enough. I was also happy to see that they had more variety of desserts than sansar including gulab jamon and a really tasty rice pudding. Chai was not included in the buffet but could be purchased for $1 or $2. Service was nice, quiet, and prompt to fill water glasses and collect plates, responding only to our thank yous and continuing on to other tables. I will certainly be back and look forward to seeing what is available next time. read more

Hands down the best in Stockton. Love the butter chicken (spicy), tiki masala, garlic naan, mango lassi, and fish pakora. I've ordered these same things at all the Indian restaurants and I like this place the best for not only the flavor but for the quality of meats. I no longer have to travel to Berkeley for delicious food! I really wanted curry chicken today for dinner since I haven't had it in a long time. I researched through yelp to see if there were any local eateries and found this gem. Wow, how do I describe pure bliss? I called and placed a to go order which contained Garlic Naan and Plain Naan along with the Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka. I love all things curry but since my husband isn't a fan, I purchased the Chicken Tikka for him. Unfortunately, he found out he really does like Chicken Curry if it is prepared correctly. The flavors in both dishes were blended together perfectly and the tenderness of the Chicken Tikka was melt-in-your mouth delicious. I ordered the medium but could have gone a little spicier - but then I really love spicy-flavored foods. If you are looking for a wonderful local meal, I highly recommend Tandoori Grill. We were even treated to mango pudding that was perfect compliment to an outstanding dinner. I definitely want to go and try out their buffet one weekend soon. If I had one suggestion it would be for them to have info regarding the different buffet items so us Indian food newbies had a better idea of what each item is...other than that the place was great. I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be so good? Change of ownership maybe? The last several times we had ordered, the food just wasn't the same: dry, tough chicken, burnt naan, rice that looks like it was sitting at the bottom of the pot for hours and then scraped up, and dishes lacking any spice or real flavor. So we didn't eat there for months and then one night had a craving for Indian food- we decided to give them one last chance, hoping that maybe the last few times were just a fluke. So we put in an order to Yelp's Eat 24, where you can order online for delivery, like we had many times before. An hour and a half later we still did not have our food (was only supposed to take 45 min) so we called to find out about the delay. The woman at the restaurant said they never received our order- she didn't even ask who we were or when we had ordered, just said "we didn't receive it", and she really didn't seem to care and told us to call Yelp Eat 24 and hung up. So, we called Yelp Eat 24 because our credit card payment had already gone through. Turns out, the restaurant was LYING- they DID receive our order, Yelp Eat 24 could tell that the order had gone through on the restaurant's end, so the nice woman from Yelp Eat 24 offered to call the restaurant to find out what was going on, and if we'd still like to place our order and we said yes, because at this point we were starving. Then Yelp Eat 24 called us back and said that the restaurant said they were not accepting any orders for delivery at all because they had a group event going on...what?!?! The lady at the restaurant didn't mention ANYTHING about not accepting orders for delivery that night??? Also, when you place your order through Yelp Eat 24, the restaurant gets your PHONE NUMBER- so they could have easily called us to let us know instead of making us wait for 2 hours to find out! And why didn't she inform us when we called to inquire about our order? We will never eat here again after this experience- how can you treat your customers this way? I want to also emphasize that this had nothing to do with Yelp Eat 24 which was fabulous and worked on resolving our issue for us immediately. They refunded our credit card right away and even sent us a discount coupon for our next order because of our inconvenience. We will continue to use Yelp Eat 24 as we find it very convenient and we have never had any issues apart from this one which was the fault of the restaurant. read more

This is an honest opinion. We have had food here couple times. Probably one of the best places to try Indian food. Better than Dhaba in tracy in my opinion. We went there today for buffet. Their snacks are 10/10 lots of options and great taste, perfect blend of species. Just one suggestion though. Their chicken, lamb curry and other vegetables lacked spices and flavors. They were just kind of blah. Maybe suitable for people who are not used to spicy food but if you are Indian you may not like it that much. Excellent service though. I hope they will make their main dishes on atleast medium spicy side because they tasted too plain and lacked flavours. I would come back here again. Good food overall. read more

I ordered take out which took about 40 minutes to receive, which felt a little long considering there was only one other family in the restaurant but I figured, well it must be amazing then! Amazing isn't quite the word I'd use. My lamb tikka masala was lacking the depth of flavor you come to expect from Indian food... more like spicy tomato soup. However the lamb was cooked perfectly which was a nice surprise. The rice was fine, completely plain and the garlic nan was a little burnt for my taste. Absolutely most terrible service I've ever had. Ordered a couple months ago online with no problem. Food was delicious. Today I placed an order online and it went through no problem. I showed up and they said "sorry no order" I showed him the screen shot of my Order and confirmation. He then called someone who wanted to talk to me from behind the counter on speaker phone which was very hard to hear. Ultimately I was told they no longer use that ordering service even though it's on the website and I needed to scan the QR code on the counter to place an order. He told me to call my bank and stop payment. So $40 later I have no refund and no food. Again as I was walking out he said scan the code to order. Last time the food was good and I had no problems but this time the service was horrible and I won't be returning. read more
