Several Tanger Outlets exist across the US, but I've only been to the Lancaster location. This isn't a huge outlet mall, as they tend to emphasize more higher-end stores (like Brooks Brothers, Movado, and Ann Taylor), attracting crowds of tourists and bargain shoppers. It's not a tiny outlet by any means, otherwise how would you explain their huge parking lot? There's at least one vending machine that takes credit cards, which I found to be unusual. Not a bad outlet, and don't forget to check out the kitchen store! If you're thirsty, there's a Starbucks. Also note their advertised Sunday hours are better than the Rockvale Outlets down the street - they're open for two more hours. read more

This is a new addition to the outlets we shop at while we are in Lancaster. Usually when my boyfriend and I visit PA, we just enjoy the time together and the food. Only recently we started shopping and we were able to enjoy a nice amount of shops including Coach. Kenneth Cole, J Crew and a bunch more. This time when we went, it was the first time we spent the day walking around and checking out all the different stores they had here and did very well on budget and with a nice amount of clothing. My cousins from Italy visit the States each October for a few days and, rather than sightseeing in Philly or NYC, they always make the trek to Lancaster for a day at Tanger. When I found out that they were headed there last Friday, I jokingly invited myself along. And then they insisted that I should actually join them. I'm told that I've been to the outlets there multiple times before (and in the last two years at that), but I don't have any recollection of such experiences for some reason so this review is solely based on last week. These outlets are large and easier to navigate than Rockvale. They have their share of high-end designer shops (like Coach) but then they also have more accessible stores, too (like White House Black Market), which makes me happy. This Tanger spread is easier to walk around than AC since it's all centralized, but it also appears a little more run-down from age. Tanger offers many promotions via their coupon book and email promos. My cousins had a book with them, but on a few occasions they did accidentally forget it in their car (we left the outlets and then returned; we took the car at one point from one end to the other, etc.). My cousin would nicely ask the clerks if he could run out to the car really quick to grab the book upon realizing he forgot it. In all of the stores except for one, no one minded too much. In Gap (where I actually purchased clothes for the first time in my life!), the clerk made a nasty comment when he ran out: "Oh, okay sure, I guess I won't take ANY of the people behind you..." thinking that her comment wouldn't be heard by anyone related to him. But I was standing right there and chirped, "Well! You can take me while you wait if it's that big of a deal!" Note: I was behind him, as was one other person. There was another line open as well, and they were finishing up. This clerk's comment was unnecessary and she should have thought it in her head only. She replied, "Oh. You're with him. No, you can go over there," as the other line opened up. Only other thing to note: Bathrooms are... okay. I'd bring hand sanitizer too though. They're small and hit-or-miss. You have to touch the door handle when you leave, and that's always gross to me considering how many people fail to wash their hands. So, really, unless family from another country is headed to Tanger, or unless I really need a specific item that would be cheaper at an outlet and couldn't be found at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back... but Tanger isn't a bad set-up, either. read more

We've been going to these outlets for years. There aren't always great deals as most of the locations are just moving product, but if you get the Tanger coupon booklet, you can occasionally find something good. The customer service area in the middle of the shopping center sells the book, but they have a few options to get it for free. Thanks AAA card! These outlets cover mostly higher-end stores, and not too many that really attract me. The ones that do are: Nike, LIDS, Reebok, and Eddie Bauer. There are plenty of good deals to be had, but also more than a few chances to overpay for the same stuff. There is not a great diversity of stores, but if you are looking for higher-end clothing, then it is a good stop for you. The parking lot is complex and easy to get lost in. Take it slow and watch for more aggressive drivers. read more

I've been here three times. I live about an hour away. It's a nice outlet to go to when I do day trips to Lancaster. They have a nice assortment of stores (Old Navy, Yankee Candle, Loft, Coach, Bath & Body Works, etc). I don't believe they have a food court, which is a bummer. I'm not a huge fan of the layout of the outlet; it's basically a large parking lot with the stores surrounding the perimeter. It's not my favorite place to shop, but I do enjoy coming here from time to time. read more

I heard great things about the Tanger Outlets so I wanted to see what all the noise was about. We went on a very hot day so it was scorching. I'm happy to say that everyone's air conditioners were working perfectly. The quality of stores they have are great. I especially enjoyed the Coach and Michael Kors. When you arrive the first thing you should do is stop at customer service. They will hand out a booklet of coupons that you can use in the store. There are also a few little rides located around the outlet that your little one can ride on. I am definitely going to go back around Christmas. My only complaint is that I wish there was a few more places near to eat or even get a snack. Other than that it's a great place. Oh and don't bother with the perfume outlet. It's not any cheaper and they are pushy. They didn't even have any of the perfumes I wanted. read more

I am super sad and angry that many stores today closed at 7, on your website it says your open til 9 and I fel for it. Many of your stores closed at 7, you should stay true to your times and stay open til 9! If not you'll eventually lose customers. read more

I was in Lancaster for a work trip and visited the outlets on downtime. The selection of stores was extensive. Not a lot of food options so don't go shopping hungry. A lot of the stores had pretty good sales/prices. read more

I really enjoy coming to this outlet center. It's a big outlet center but not too big where it can be exhausting to shop in. Parking is usually never a problem except on Black Friday. It can get pretty crazy during that time. I like the variety of stores they have but am Thrilled they are building and even more stores are coming. One downside is food. There aren't really restaurants to eat in. It would be nice if they had a little food court type thing to with fast food places to sit down for a while. That being said I do still really enjoy coming here for shopping. Really looking forward to the new stores coming. read more

*450th Review* This outlet complex is located right off of US-30, right in the area where numerous restaurants and hotels are situated. The format of the outlet complex was a strip mall that surrounded most parts of the parking lot. Most of the stores were made up of clothing, shoes, and fashion accessories (jewelry, sunglasses, etc.). Two stores sold kitchen supplies. Other stores included a Toys R Us, a Yankee Candle, and Harry and David. When it comes to popular outlet centers, we always expect them to be crowded and challenging to find a parking spot. We came here on a Saturday afternoon. Even though this place was crowded, we were able to find a spot right by Tommy Hilfiger. We walked around the entire outlet center. We looked at Coach, Cosmetics Company, Harry and David, Nike, Nautica, and last but not least, my favorite outlet store, Tommy Hilfiger. I actually bought a nice long-sleeved shirt at Tommy Hilfiger for a low sale price. The people who rung me out at the register had pleasant attitudes. The guy who gave me access to the fitting room to try the shirt for size had a pleasant attitude as well. Price and service-wise, that was a perfect location. As with almost any outlet center, there will be some stores that won't sell merchandise at low prices. I'm glaring at you, Harry and David (they're probably not an outlet store, anyway)! The same goes for the Cosmetics Company, in which we've seen cheaper prices elsewhere. Also, in regards to Nautica, it was quite clear to me that they were still raising prices on their clothing. It's no wonder why I prefer Hilfiger over Nautica. Overall this is a very good outlet complex. The complex itself appeared to be nice and clean, and had a very good assortment of stores. The restrooms themselves appeared to be clean as well. I prefer this outlet complex over the Rockvale ones. We'll definitely be back here if we decide to spend another night in the Lancaster area. It is COMPLETELY dead on the weekdays, you can walk into any store on the weekday and you could be the only customer, ok, not really but you could maybe hear crickets. This is the first time I've ever been to this outlet mall. Personally, I didn't not like it here. I do think they have a nice amount of stores and there is ample parking but my problem was with the prices. Upon parking near the main office, I went in to get a coupon booklet, which is free for AAA members. The coupon book was not anything special and most of the coupons were useless to me. The thing that made me dislike this mall was every store seemed like a regular store and the prices were ridiculously high. I did find a good deal in the Timberland store, buy one get one 70%off which was great. I still needed to buy a Christmas present and I got the second pair for myself for 70% off. But that was the only thing I bought in the whole mall. Timberland is also running this sale online so I could have just stayed home instead of driving an hour and half. The Harley Davidson outlet was more expensive then the Harley Dealer itself. I was also surprised that the Michael Kors store did not have much to chose from either for their sale items. If you want to get something to eat there is only a Subway. That's is it. Overall atmosphere was nice, the place was clean and not too crowded. But I will not be returning here. read more

Closest Outlet to Delaware. If you are lucky from Newark to Lancaster is about 45 min. Just watch the Amish :) You can pretty much find everything you looking for in this Outlet in a mid range brands. I don't like they close early but rule is rule I guess. I like Nike and Timberland the best. If you are heading to Harrisburg or Pittsburgh I think this Outlet would be best pit stop on the road. read more

I'm a dude... we shop with purpose... not for fun! Now... growing up my Mother and Grandmother with my Grandfather and I in tow would would we would affectionately call practice shop one day and then come back the next to make it happen! Here like many outlet malls... it takes away the need to practice, the deals are good and the easy of shopping is perfect. No pressure from kiosks hawking dead sea salt mineral makeup, hair extensions, flat irons, moving pictures, ProActiv, Favorite Team Trinkets, Vonage, Cellular service when I am clearly talking on my current wireless phone, etc. For a guy this makes it so much easier, now I enjoy the feel of new shoes on my feet and the look of a new outfit to impress my loving wife...BUT I don't want to go shopping all day long I usually end up knowing exactly what I want and get it and get out with minimal diversion from my intended purpose. If you are a guy and want to take your significant other shopping and you live near Lancaster come here!!! It's worth the drive and the food options around are great too!!! read more

After a 60 min drive to this outlet, I was pretty dissapointed at how gutted they were! I can't argue that the prices were pretty cheap if you dug in deep. Great stores, but limited/untrendy selections...Then again, I did go the weekend AFTER memorial day. I won't be going out my way to this outlet, but if you are in the area, it's worth checking frequently to find good bargains. I'm sure that weekdays, you will have better luck finding things that are still trendy marked way below retail. read more

This is a great outlet center. There is a wide selection of stores, and they are all very nice and quite sizable. There is a large new section of stores that was added within the past few years. The restrooms are generally relatively clean (obviously if you go on Black Friday or a crazy shopping day, they'll be messier due to volume), and there is a nice shopper services area where they sell coupon books for $5. If you are a AAA member, the coupon book is free. The only downside of these outlets is the traffic situation. With the addition of the new stores, traffic to leave the Tanger Outlets is often very backed up. Try to time your exit when not many people are leaving--i.e., don't leave at 5:00 on a Saturday when everyone else is leaving to go to dinner--to avoid getting stuck. read more

Sometimes, if you come here on a weekend, you feel like you might as well be shopping at the Gallery mall at Market East in Philly. Think asses-to-elbows extended families with all nine of their small children. Last weekend we went when the weather was awful and it wasn't quite so crowded as it has been in the past. We come here once or twice a year to stock up on work clothes and get out of the city for a day. It seems like ladies do better here than men, as the stores tend to have a lot more selection for females. One of the better outlet malls I have been to. I'm giving Tanger four stars instead of three because shopping is kind of limited in the Lancaster area. You have to drive to King of Prussia if want to do some actual shopping. But, for shopping in the Lancaster area, Tanger is where it's at. Much better than the local Park City Mall! There are also one to many conservative outlet stores here, Dress Barn? Izod? Seriously? Still in business? I wish there were a few more contemporary options and more designer options outside of the typical CK, DKNY, Kenneth Cole. I love coming here much more if there was a BCBG or Armani or more upscale jean stores --- places where you need the outlet prices! But, I always have luck at the Banana Republic at this location. They always have awesome sales! Also can find good deals at Gap, J Crew, and jeans at Guess. This place is usually swarmed with tourists, they bring them in by the busloads. So, be careful in the parking lots and I would recommend shopping during the week. read more

I've shopped at these outlets since I was a kid. I hadn't been back in a while, was driving through Lancaster, and decided to stop. Apparently many people just stop in because we weren't the only people with dogs. :) It's difficult to rate outlets because everyone shops at different stores, but for my boyfriend and I, they were pretty good. We went to J Crew, the kitchen store, Yankee Candle, Pac Sun, and a few others. I even got started on my Christmas shopping, which is probably the best part of that day. Wow there's a LOT of stores here! I came here with the church bus trip. Unfortunately, we only had 2.5 hours to shop before lunch at Miller's (see yelp). So I only got to hit up Leggs Hanes Bali, and AnnTaylor Factory Store. This outdoor outlet mall is ginormous. And the Starbucks is a 5-min walk away. Tanger Outlets are definitely a must-go! You can't lose by going here because they have everything. It's like a one-stop-shop, no need to go anywhere else. Stores for every age, every occasion, every holiday & every season. The restrooms are very well kept up & clean, as well as the whole area. Plenty of parking space for so many stores. This is my most favorite outlet shopping center on the East Coast. Over the past 20 years I've watched them grow & add the best stores one can ask for. Lots of stores but they are all supremely boring. Sometimes I walk through the whole mall, going into every store and literally can't find anything interesting. This place (and Lancaster in general) needs more contemporary stores. The only reason this location gets 2 stars instead of 1 is that it's good for exercise if the weather is decent...
