Great range! Good assortment of paper and metal targets for pistols and up to 100 yard range with both paper and steel targets for rifles. The RSO's are not intrusive but genuinely have the interest of the shooter at heart and wants you to enjoy your time. Safety instruction and performance instruction seem to be readily available. This place is always a pleasure to shoot at. Folks are genuine and pleasant. PC area has plenty of steel to ring making for a fun day.

I've attended this range multiple times. It is a departure from ranges I am accustomed to (indoor), so I have little comparison to go on. However, the staff has always been courteous and friendly with me, and the space is clean and well marked. I have used the pistol range with both the reactive (metal) targets and once with my own paper targets. The times I have gone there has been little crowd, permitting frequent cease fire/range cold to replace my own target. I find prices to be fair enough and, unlike the reports of another reviewer, the RSO one day allowed us a 45 min slot prior to closing. Your experience may vary of course. We visited Tango Down Range on May 4th, 2013 at an event sponsored by Responsibly Armed. Coming from 81N, it is a bit of a windy road that you eventually get to the destination back "in the sticks". The entryway is gravel and has a bit of a hill, which one of the vehicles behind us had their tires spin out a little bit. The parking area is on a hill above the range so I'd highly recommend a wagon if you plan on staying here a while and have lots of heavy items. Also I'd suggest putting on ears and eyes in the parking lot as there is a sign stating that they are required after leaving the lot going to the range area. The staff at TDR are very friendly and are at the ready to assist with any questions or suggestions regarding the range or your weapon. There is a small little "shack" in between the long range and the pistol range. On the pistol side, they have a place to stack all of your magazines and handguns and gear. There are no partitions between the lanes so fair warning if the range is packed and every lane is busy then you WILL get pinged with spent casings. I love the pistol side because they have moving steel targets, so instead of trying to find the hole in the target you just need to see if your steel target moves. They are fairly small so its pretty awesome when you see it move each time you pull the trigger. The other side also has some targets set up to target with (though you can always bring your own to set up with they hold fire). They also have a table and seat set up for shooting your AR (or other weapon of choice) and its capable for lefty or righty. The little "shack" has a few items for sale from eye to ear protection as well as hats/etc. My husband and I bought a membership that day, even though we have another range close to our house. We like the cover for the shooting area so even if its a light rain we can have fun plinking. Obviously we intend on returning as we bought memberships. Great place, super friendly staff. I'm a decently experienced shooter but never fully was trained on form and small techniques and the gentleman there was super helpful with showing me small changes I could make to help and they really did help. I'd definitely go back there again and will be. Unfortunately it's about an hour and a half away from my house but definitely worth the trip. It's a unique outdoor range which is rare to see around me. Good price for it and easy to procedure to get in and out. Me and my buddy brought our girlfriends who are pretty much first time shooters, again the gentleman there was basically giving out tips and tricks with a smile on his face. Very good place where you're still able to talk unlike every indoor range where you're having to yell at someone 6 inches away from you hoping they hear you. read more

I've been to Tango Down Range several times over the past couple years....each time the range made improvements to the facilities. It is an outdoor facility in a wooded area and all shoots area are covered. The complex is split into two areas -- right side has steel targets out to 50 yards and railed off shooting stations; left side is open field with targets available out to at least 100 yards. Facility personnel have always been courteous, respectful, and security conscience. Prices are comparable (if not cheaper) than other area ranges. No membership is required to use the range unlike many in the region with outrageous prices. read more

About the only thing going for this range is its cleanliness other then that it goes down hill. The prices are the same almost anywhere you go. The problem comes into play with their "hours." The final cease fire is at 5:30 if you show up even one minute past 4:30 they won't let you shoot. Seriously. Even though they advertise that they are open until 6, so how does that work? I can't understand why if you understand that you would be cutting out of your time to shoot (it's $20 per hour) then why can't you shoot until then? I'm not looking for a discount because of lost time, or want my money back, and I don't think a lot of people would? So I wrote and I asked. I asked why they advertise 6 when clearly it's not and why can't people shoot if they understand the final cease fire at 5:30? His response you ask? "It's on our website." Ok where?? It's the most basic website and nothing on there even mentions the problems I'm having. When I was told I couldn't shoot because going three minutes past the time is just unacceptable, I walked back up the hill and told the other people that were getting ready not to bother and to pack their stuff up. Some asked why and I explained others didn't believe me and walked down anyways. And guess what happened? They shunned those guys off to. Maybe they want to guarantee the hour your paying for, I respect that. Maybe they just want to be a d¡€k, I don't know. So unless you're an early bird, don't bother driving out there past 3:00pm. read more

me and a friend went there yesterday and we had a blast. they have a rifle range and a pistol range. both are set up with steel targets so you can actually plink at steel. lots of fun. much better than plinking at boring paper targets. this range is over an hour away from me but i plan to go out there as much as i can. the RSO was super cool and helpful. he even helped zero in my friends scope on an AR. all in all a great experience and we will definitely be back. be sure to dress warm if it cold out as it is an outdoor range. read more

My girl friend and I went to the range for the first time on 1 Jul 16 and had a wonderful time. All the shooting positions are covered in case of inclement weather. 10-12 lanes for pistol and similar for the rifle. Steel and/or paper targets on the pistol side and paper targets on the rifle side. The rifle range is out to 100 yards; up to 50 yards for the pistol range. The RSO was extremely friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. They have targets and limited ammo (primarily rifle) for sale. Standard and reasonable hourly prices. Cash or credit. The range is definitely a bit out of the way but easy to get to, and on a gravel road off of the main road - so drive slow. Plenty of parking. Tango Down Range is a great outdoor range -- you can't go wrong. read more
