I have ordered 280 Rem and 223 Rem from Hendershots, they tell you the wait time and deliver on time. There loads are very accurate in my guns. It is a bit difficult to find 280 Rem in most gun stores, in my opinion the 280 is fine for anything up to the size of elk. Hendershots provides a number of bullet and case options, I'm a fan of Barnes 140gr Tipped TSX bullets, they are very accurate in my 280 Rem. read more

I ordered a box of .325WSM a few months ago, for about 150 dollars a box. I finally went out to the range to zero my rifle and the first 2 rounds i fired malfunctioned, both casings split at the bottom of the shell all the way arpund the circumfrance of the casing, and on one of the two the primer completely exploded out of the casing. I had to pry my bolt open on both occasions. Taking to a gun smith to be checked out for any unseen damage to bore, bolt, and breach. I'm very weary of buying ammo here. Yes my headspacing is good. The loads were 200 grain barnes tsx at 2,900FPS. read more

I purchased 250 savage ammo 87gr soft point.and can say they worked extremely well in my Winchester model 70 legend carbine. Great package to reuse as well. Will buy more when needed as I know now of the 3 week order time to receive. Got 5/8" groups with ammo 1-14 twist. read more

Hendershots is my go to store. I got a great price on 5.56 when you couldn't find it anywhere. He could have gouged the price but was fair and reasonable. Not to mention they have a great selection of new and pre owned fire arms. They probably get sick of me browsing when I'm there. The taxidermy is amazing also. Almost like a museum. read more

Purchased a rifle last year and was pleased with the service. Went back and picked up a scope and was equally pleased. The staff is knowledgeable and shares that knowledge. I have been to this shop 2 times and both times have been a disaster, my first was I wanted a scope mounted on my 50bmg took it to them cuz I was sent low scope rings from dealer they said they had high ones on the shelf and would fit a 50 well after 2 hours of them searching for rings they stacked rings and I spent 400$ on rings. Took it to range gun would not zero found out they put a 30 moa base on it asked them if I could return it they said no had to buy differs rings on the net now I have 800$ in scope rings. second time I called and asked if they had a delta ring style barrel nut the gentleman said that he did I asked if he would put it aside for me that I was having my buddy come get it for me he said he could not, my buddy did not know what he was getting long story short when my buddy came back with it he did not get the barrel nut he got the snap ring with it no barrel nut $20 wasted on something dumb that could of been handled better for a high end place they do not have high end service read more

ordered some 185 gr vld Bergers for my tikka 300 win mag. The barrel was already broke in with some cheap ammo the week before. Shot the custom ammo and it was terrible... at 200 yards it was five inches left five inches right 3 inches high 2 inches low just all over the place on a lead sled also.... at 100 yards it was a 1.5 inch group at best. emailed lance to see if a different load or bullet should be tried or if there was problems with this one??? I have a friend that shoots this exact bullet just a different loader and its absolutely excellent lance said he would look into the order and get back to me.... 3 emails later and no replies and I realized I got taken ... save your money and do your research.... went to scheels due to deer season getting close and having to just get the gun sighted since I'm out of time... bought some 200 gr Hornady precision hunter ammo shoots excellent makes this hendershots ammo look silly plus it was $42 a box vs $75 a box like hendershots also the chronograph showed the hendershots 185 vld at 2740 and the 200 grain precision at 2860 ....... as previously states save your money do more research don't get burned like me read more

Lance Hendershot and his staff are the absolute best in the area. Lots of folks think they are gun experts. Lance truly is. he knows more about guns and ballistics than anyone I've ever met. And I've been shooting for 40 years! Historically hendershot's has specialized in game rifles and sporting shotguns. Recently they have opened new handgun section. Hendershot's can create custom loads for any game hunter as well as carrying a variety of factory ammo. I will drive one and a half hours to go to Hendershot's above any other gun store in the area. As a lady shooter and Hunter the thing I appreciate most is that Lance and his staff take me seriously. they know I'm experienced shooter and treat me with respect and give me all the attention I need. read more

Hendershot's staff, and Lance Hendershot in particular, were most helpful to me over the past decade in handling gun repair and advice. The store is gorgeous, and the variety of firearms is really staggering. They've also been a big help in selling, on consignment, several older and unusual firearms from my parents' estate. Out of about 11 really old, unusual firearms, none were challenging to them - from a teensy antique boot pistol to a custom European drilling rifle. Their knowledge is just gobsmacking.
