There was a robbery at my father's house. He was not able to access his serial numbers due to a computer crash. He called to get the serial numbers of the guns that had been purchased from them. First they said they couldn't do it, then they said they could do but for $50 per gun. They valued money over helping to catch criminals with stolen guns. Don't be like Valley Guns 2. Be like Berkeley Springs Trading Post who reached out to us to get a list of the guns stolen and emailed my father with the serial numbers that had purchased through them without trying to extort money. read more

Absolutely great place, if you dont care about discourteous staff, inaccurate order and shipping times, and blatant lying about mistakes with orders when they are made. This is one place I will never step foot in again. I will go out of my way to travel further to give other businesses my money. i had a very mixed and odd experience ,actually Bazaar would better describe over the course of the last 3 months i dropped over 4k in the store between 4 rifles and in addition between 4 and 5 hundred in ammo one employee seemed to have a issue with me in general from the second we met for what reason that i simply can not pin point , maybe it was my face , unfortunately its the only one i have , it is important for me to express that everyone else in the store was aces ,polite ,courteous,helpful , and honest this employee from our first interaction was abrasive as well as toxic and it was obvious he had a very dislike for me , i was polite regardless , over the course of the next 3 months his disdain for me increased to the point it was out right rude and direct i admit i'm not without personality defects of my own and maybe he picked up on that , i was in the Navy stationed aboard a Trident Submarine , if you talley all the time i spent submerged i have spent over 2 years of my life submerged under the ocean on a sub , as a result when presented in a tight , confined over crowded space i have issues dealing with it , it gets to the point there is a disconnect between my brain and body , i cant even sign my name correctly , cant remember how to spell my middle name with an A or E , it takes multiple times for a question to register ,i have to gravitate to the outer rim of the crowd and over all discomforting feeling so i must appear "off" to others , but even given this, i feel i should at least garner the same respect i put forth to others , including him well i was searching for a rifle that they could not get , i found it on line ,I went in and asked if they do FFL xfers , i was told yes , asked if they would do one for me ,was told absolutely and was handed a business card and was told all the info i needed was there , i asked how much was the fee and was told $35 , that is in fact the going rate so i said great , went home and ordered the rifle so one day im off early and am running errands , get a call from Arden Farm equipment that my chainsaw parts were in , add a stop to the end of my list , then a email my rifle had been delivered , as you know Valley guns and Arden equipment are moments away so i stopped in to at least get the paperwork done figuring i would get delayed i drew the short straw and drew my favorite fan , and as always was met with attitude , next thing i know hes standing in front of me upset asking how i knew the rifle was there , i said FedEx emailed me , he proceeds to read the riot act as to they always hold a FFL xfer for 24 hours , something i was not told , i said no problem i will come back , in total i told him 3 times with an apology 3 times that i was not told this and i would come back,that i did not want to cause them a problem that wasn't good enough , that would deprive him of his temper tantrum i told myself i will not have dealings with this guy again i would wait until someone else was available , filled out the paperwork and other than the attitude my visit was a pleasant one as it was not crowded he comes out and says that will be $45 , now everyone that works there knows full well they charge $35 , now hes charging me a $10 fee for a "i do not like Dave tax" ,and did so AFTER i had my rifle shipped to them and reneging on the deal we had in place i am curious as to where the $10 ended up , if it ended up in the till that would make it a condoned store policy , if it went into his pocket then hes shaking down customers as a side hustle , either way it makes zero sense to cut me for $10 ,a customer who has dumped over 4K into the store in 3 months , and alienating a customer that would certainly spend thousands more in future purchases i paid it to just get my rifle away from this lunatic , i had a vision of him taking it out to see how hot he could cook my barrel , but make no mistake he held my rifle hostage for 10 bucks , bizarre so im at work the next day and called the shop , giving him the benefit of doubt that maybe they raised their rate from the time i was quoted to the time i picked up my rifle , that it was a timing misunderstanding , the polite girl on the phone quoted me a FFL xfer fee of , you guessed it $35 dollars , no the guy charged me more for simple reason that it was me, none other the next available day i could get in there i went in and asked the sweet heart lady behind the counter if we could have a talk , she said sure , i would have rather had the talk away from the customers in the store but she wanted to do it there , i later realize she did so for her safety reasons , and understood completely , once i explained it to her she went into the till without hesitation and presented me with a $10 bill so for the amount of money that would not by a Big Mac meal his attitude and unscrupulous business practice cost that store thousands in future sales because i will never cast a shadow on their threshold again read more

Man were they busy, the place was packed, on a Saturday. They were also very helpful, when I asked about a shotgun. The selection of shotguns was pretty sparse, but they had a big selection of handguns, and hunting rifles, and about 30 ARs. The prices of the guns in General were higher than I expected, but not ridiculous. The ammo prices were the best I've seen in this area so far, so that is a bonus, I quickly realized they had a shooting range, which might be downstairs, that is also a bonus. I'll be back to this one as well. This place was a little hard to find, but GPS got me there. I'll definitely come back to this spot. read more

I cannot remember a weekend where I have had so much fun and learned so much. I took the AR15 rifle course on Saturday! In one day, I gained so much confidence in the handling of this rifle, and my shots just got better and better. I didn't want the day to end, so I decided to take the handgun course the next day! The boy half (there is an older gentleman, also) of the owners refused to sell my wife the pistol she wanted because in his infinite wisdom, he did not think she could handle it (.45 ACP). My wife had our children along and most importantly, NOT me, and I guarantee this would have not played out in my presence. Moreover, this smart mouth boy owner asked me my name on the phone when I called to investigate, and then instead of my name, I was addressed as "listen, buddy". He then started a lecture on the federal government, and I cut him off because a) my wife would be a laughable straw purchaser and b) this idiot seems to think he is the oracle on ATF regs. It made me wonder if this boy is half as tough as his mouth is on the phone. I will NEVER SPEND A DIME in that business and I will advise every WV resident the same. Valley Guns II is a great store, so long as you don't care about customer service. To put it simply, if your a first time gun buyer do not shop here. The first thing you will notice when going in is that there is absolutely nowhere to stand. Between the shelves and the shoulders you wont be able to see a lick of the handguns they have on display. The second thing you will notice is that it takes 10 min just to get someone to come over and show you a gun. But don't take your time looking at it, holding it or getting used to how it feels in your hand or you will get the Hawkeye impatient stare from your 1 of 5 guys behind the counter who are racing to sell as many weapons as possible each day. You will leave with a gun, that's for sure...but also leave behind any feeling of confidence in your purchase as you were rushed into a sale without handling many fire arms. I've purchased 2 guns here and they will be the last 2. Both sales went the same way. Maybe I'm just old school but I like to shoot the shit with my dealer, and have a good talk about a weapon before I drop 2k, moving meant leaving behind my old dealer. Oh yea, they aren't "Budget shooter" friendly.. their indoor range doesn't let you bring your own ammo unless its "lead free" indoor ammo which costs around $25 dollars for a box of .45 compared to less expensive target ammo at around $16, and that's after you pay the expensive range fee for only 30 min of time. This place is only geared to make money. My old dealer would let you shoot for free on the indoor range and give you a box of ammo to do it with when you purchased a gun at his shop. He believed in sending you away confident and practiced with your fire arm. He's still in business and has been for over 30 Years. In short...This one's moving on to greener pastures and hopes the Shenandoah Valley has some. read more

I went into Valley Guns II to purchase my first handgun and was nervous, because I am Muslim American with a Muslim sounding name. I thought the staff would discriminate after showing them my ID, but they were all great and so was the selection. They were very nice, and profession, showing no ill will towards me for exercising my 2nd amendment right. A great place to get a good deal. I stopped there off I-81 last week. Jim helped me, very friendly and a lot better than Clark brothers. They have an indoor range onsite which is cool. I was looking for used AR15s and they had good selection and offered to contact me if something I wanted came in. They have suppressors if you are looking for those too.
